I've actually always loved this place. This place has been around since I was a young girl. I actually got my chow mein and fried rice catered from here for my wedding and got many compliments for my buffet food line. Will definitely continue to order from them.

Modesto was my Home for a Long time!!! I wish Hong Kong was there when it was!!!I was there rolling around town today when I became Hungry!!! So I searched my Yelp Application for Chinese Food and Hong Kong Popped Up!!!So I rolled there.Plenty of Parking as they are located in a Strip Mall.I rolled in and I was Greeted and Seated!!!!I was Given a Glass of Ice Water and a Menu.I Opted for one of their Meal Deals The Mandarin!!!!. They have a nicely decorated Dining Room and is a Family Run Business Service is Friendly and Efficient!!!The Mandarin - Pork Chow Mein , Fried Rice , , Sweet and Sour Pork , Fried Shrimp Fried Chicken, Wing , Egg Foo Yung and Almond Diced Chicken!!!!When my Meal Arrived I was impressed with the Quality and Portions size!!! My Meal was Delicious!!!I also ordered some Egg Rolls with Sweet and Sour Sauce!!!They were Tasty !!!Hong Kong is a Baller On A Budget Approved Establishment!!!!

Worse Chinese food I've had. The honey walnut shrimp was over battered and over cooked in old oil. And the Mongolian beef had no flavor.

Just found this place and loved it. We live in Escalon and our hometown place (Wong's) closed due to retirement (after 20 + years). I have been trying places in Modesto, but nothing was close to the satisfaction of our now closed store, until now. Prices are very reasonable, and the amount of food is unbelievable for that affordability. We got there a bit late in the evening on a Saturday (about 7:30 pm ish) but were immediately attended to by the staff. Sometimes communication can be hard due to the limited language barrier in these types of businesses, but that was not the case here. Restaurant was clean and easily accessible with ample parking available. We ordered 2 combination plates (one was Fried Rice/Chow Mein/BBQ pork, and the other was Fried Rice/Chow Mein/and Teriyaki Chicken) along with egg rolls. Food was prepared quickly (within 10 - 15 minutes) and filled a craving that we have had for many months now.We will be returning and trying other menu items in the future.

Do your self a favor and don't order honey walnut shrimp nor orange chicken. I can't believe a restaurant would sell this. I called the restaurant after I took the first bite and they acted like they didn't know who I was after repeating my order 3 times then they said ok. I told them It was my first time there and that it would be my last the food was terrible.

The food don't taste good. Everything is rushed. I will not be going back, the food taste old like they made it yesterday.

Don't waste your money. I just ordered family dinner and it was horrible. Chow mein had no flavor at all tasted like greasy noodles. Fried rice was dry and bland. Sweet and sour pork was literally fried batter no pork. Fried shrimp was burned and they need to change their oil. I have eaten here in the past and it was ok however its not even edible and I now have a stomach ache. I never write reviews however I want to tell people please if you want decent food go somewhere else. Also the menu prices online are not the actual prices in the restaurant. Very disappointing. If I could give 0 stars I would.
