Hiers Goju Ryu Karate

Both of my children started classes at Hier's eight years ago. The main reason I chose this dojo was watching Sensei relax into a smile, while teaching a class I was observing. My son went on to achieve a black belt and taught younger students. My daughter is a brown belt one stripe. Both kids love Sensei Chris! This is a great place for your kids to learn the art of Karate, self respect, and respect for others.I appreciate there is no pressure to rank up quickly and NO contracts.

My boys started karate with Sensei Chris way back when they were 6&9 years old. They both loved going to Karate. Chris is a kind-hearted instructor who always made my boys feel welcomed and valued. One son opted out after a few years in favour of hockey and theater, the other stayed with Chris, achieving his 2nd degree black belt and going on to teach the little ones. He took a bit of a break but has since returned to the dojo. Heirs dojo is an excellent place to grow up. I highly recommend it.

Really great instructor for kids. Sensei is SUPER patient with the kids and does a good job of providing verbal instruction without just sounding like a lecture. I think it says a lot when an instructor can have a 1 and 1/2 hour class and keep a 4 and 6 year old interested! Nice family atmosphere too.
