Out for our weekend walk the honey and I ambled into Hidden Valley Park after walking through Hidden Lakes Park.Personally, we enjoyed this park more as it was paved and had more amenities, such as exercise equipment and children's play spaces. It could definitely use more culture and zhuzh as there were many spots where a bit of design (such as a mural) would have improved the vibe. But that being said, it wasn't too bad for a mid-sized neighborhood park. Our favorite areas were the small overlook with stone bench and the bridge that connected back to the trail towards Lakes. Sadly, like Lakes, some of the trails that lead down from the bridge were a bit washed out so we didn't get explore as much as we would have liked but all in all we much enjoyed getting some steps in and would definitely come back - but perhaps on a day where it's not raining.

A really nice and super clean park. I stumbled across this park while doing some light hiking at the adjacent Hidden Lakes Park. These two parks are often confused as one park, but they actually intercept each other. This is an excellent place to bring the kiddies as there is a pretty large play structure in tow. There's also a huge grassy field that's perfect for picnicking and other recreational activities. The walking paths are all paved and lead to other trails within nearby Hidden Lakes Park. There's tons of picnic space and each picnic area can be reserved for special events. You'll find a good amount of exercise equipment near a few of the walking paths. Parking is easy and there are clean restrooms on site. This is the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or a light run. The large grassy field space is also very desirable for dog owners. I immediately noticed how clean this park was as soon as I arrived. They definitely do an excellent job of cleaning and maintaining this area. I'd say that this is one of the better local parks in the area.

This park has a nice playground and is safe. It also has spaces for walking and pretty scenery. There are lakes near by and other water. Areas for hiking as well.

What a lovely park, playground and picnic place. Several shade structures and tables. Certain spaces can be reserved and other spots are first come first serviced which is nice too. A hidden jewel

I see the appeal to this park, but it's not one one of my faves for the kiddos. Pros: it's clean, spread out, lots of space to run and ride bikes, there are two separate play structures so kids can run back in forth and the bathrooms are clean. It's a good place for birthdays, and plenty of parking.Cons:I feel the play structures are a bit old and unfortunately did not hold my kids attention very long. It could also be that it was hot and there is not a lot of shade. There are a limited swings with only 2 baby swings. No soap in the bathroom.

I adore this park. (Side note: Is Hidden Valley Park the same as Hidden Lakes Park? I'm writing this review for both postings on Yelp, because they are either right next to each other...or they are actually the same park.)I love jogging here. I can run miles through the cute trails along the water and up through the rolling hills, or along the paved paths and around the track. The far side of the park (maybe the Hidden Lakes side?) has two baseball fields, a basketball court, sand volleyball pit, and a turf soccer field! Both sides have picnic areas, but the side I'm calling Hidden Valley Park, along Center Ave, has a larger playground with more play structures and much larger picnic areas, both reservable spots, and non-reservable picnic areas, fully equipped with easy hand crank grills on massive barbecues. This is the perfect place to have your kid's birthday party, or bring your family for a picnic, to take the dog on a walk, or to get some exercise everyday like I try to do. There are always families and dog owners out and about around Hidden Valley/Lakes, so it always feels very safe. It's most beautiful when the grass is green through winter/spring, but it's still a peaceful and rejuvenating place anytime of year.

Martinez doesn't have much to do in the city. There's schools. There's parks. There's places to eat. There's places to live. I mean sure we got what is it that jail spot or the John Muir place. But it's a nice little city. I don't mind coming here for work or for some new areas to look at.I like coming to this park to relax while the kids I babysit or my brother (depends on the day) go and play. There's a bunch of seating here. Designated picnic areas filled with tables. Not much have shade unless you sit in the area by the play structures.Nice little trails or pathways too! Good for a run or walking your dog. A whole lot of green too. Let's you play fetch with your pet, have a good game of tag, or play a sport like soccer.I haven't seen any defilement of the premises or anything like that. No shady characters either. No one has gotten their car broken into. It's really nice and good for the community. It's right next to a lot of housing, a school, and two other parks. Definitely a treat for the neighborhood!

I love going to parks that are clean and maintained well and this is definitely one of those parks. In this neighborhood, people make an effort to clean up after themselves and don't have the mentality of it's not their job. Pet parents pick up after their dogs, birthday parties/picnic tables are picked up and the bathrooms are clean. I don't know if this park would be the same if it wasn't a group effort. It isn't like the park has a janitor at all times, ya know. Do your part and clean up after yourself so that parks and recreation can focus on maintenance.

We now live close to this park and I'm so glad we do. It's awesome! It's always clean and well maintained. There's a big kids play area and a little kids play area. It takes me 30minutes to just coax my son away from them.My sister comes here with her lab and plays ball. The amount of room for dogs is unprecedented. A few dogs can play ball at the same time and not get into any conflict.I've heard that the trails meet up with Hidden Lakes Park but with my son with me it's hard to go explore. He never wants to stop playing! You can rent out the picnic tables for birthday parties. Which there seems to be one every weekend. So book early. There's also plenty of parking in the private lot or in the street. We love it here. It's a great place for little ones to get their wiggles out and for doggies to get nice and tired.

A perfect place to throw a birthday party! We came here on a weekday to play and was pleasantly surprised. There are two play structures, one for younger tots and one for the older kids. Swings, seesaw and a huge grassy area for free play. Plenty of shaded area where the picnic benches are and bathrooms are close by. Cleanliness in the picnic area could have been much better but overall I was pleased with the overall tidiness of the park.
