Back around 2001, I remember that they put advertising flyers in the Orlando Sentinel. It always looked like the cheapest junk possible. I didn't have a need, so I never bothered to go.Yesterday, I needed some machine screws for a folding door pull and, since they were close to home, I went to see what they had. There are a number of products and it looked organized. Getting help didn't seem likely, since they didn't seem interested.I found the section with bolts and screws and they didn't have what I wanted, and if I needed to match what I had, they didn't have a panel like what The Home Depot and Lowe's have. I might as well have gone to Walmart or Target for what I needed. In the end, I had to go to The Home Depot and got precisely what I needed.However, if you're looking for mixed hardware in a package or tools, you can see for yourself, if they've got what you want. Do your research before you arrive.

I've been shopping at Harbor Freight for a few years and stores located in different areas of California. One area I appreciate from this chain store, is that if you leave your coupon at home and or can't bring an electronic version up on your cellphone they usually have the coupon book on hand or go online for the coupon and will scan it so that you can receive your discount (20-30% sometimes even more). This store is one of the locations that will do this. Modesto not so much; go figure. I have found some amazingly great deals and money savings here. Some of their items are really built to last while others not so much. One area that me and my Mom shop in is the solar powered outdoors lighting items. Also, the solar powered staked lights. They sell very affordable extended warranties for pennies on the dollar and they honor them as well. Be sure to create an account so that in the event you need to exchange or return an item and don't have your receipt; they will be able to locate the item by way of your account. They have an online area where you can locate and use electronic coupons right on your phone. In regards to the solar lights they have about a 60% chance of going the distance. This is where the super low cost warranty serves you. The cashiers are always helpful and the employees who are out in the store; equally as helpful. It's a good store as far as my experiences here and their coupon books received by mail have much to offer such as miniature flashlights for free and other stuff for free. It's been a good safe store to shop in for me.

An inexpensive tool store is what this town has needed for years. Driving to Tracy, Modesto or Stockton takes about half an hour of driving time which translates to one hour plus of wasted commuting time that could be used to complete a project. For me I'm often in the town of Manteca because of the lower crime rate and the convenience of picking up the products I need in one place (Manteca). So having a place I can pickup a tool I need in Manteca is wonderful. Anyway the harbor freight store is obviously clean and roomy, I'm guessing much more product is yet to be on display. One of the best features is the lack of the strong carcinogenic fumes that I would smell at other HF locations.As for the location, HF is conveniently located at Yosemite and Union road next to rite aide pharmacy. The people are nice but I think they are still in training so checking out takes a minute longer.

I dropped into Harbor Freight last week and had the pleasure of meeting Mina and Art! My key fob for my car needed a new battery and I thought I would dop in there to see if they had one. Mina and Art were both more than happy to help me. They googled to see how to get my fob apart (it's a different type) Then they found me the battery and helped me put it back together! They truly were SUPER helpful and didn't act like I was bothering them. I haven't had such GREAT customer service in YEARS!!! Thank you both sooooo much for your help! It was a really rough and busy week and your kindness was GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Harbor Freight is lucky to have you both!

This was my first time in this particular harbor freight I got in line at one of the registers when I hear someone yelling from across the store I look over and see it's one of the cashiers yelling to me to line up in aisle 6 I've never been told this at other harbor freights theres no signs and no lines painted anywhere. The cashier was so unprofessional dont yell at people across the store walk your lazy ass over to them instead of embarrassing them and put a sign up idiot your customer service skills are a joke!!

I went to the store and the customer service was lacking. I asked for items and they were unable to tell me whether not they carried them. I would only go to the store as a last resort. The store was clean but the staff was not knowledgeable

Hung a 70 inch LG . Came with a selection of bolts and washers, they all were the right thread and size. PS I put larger higher grade washers on almost all the screws, because I was not confident they were big enough for the 70 inch. This is a well built tv hanger that I would recommend to anyone.

We are giving them one star for the service that was given. I called them and asked them to put two of these on hold. This was our first time going to the store and we didn't have much time to try to find them. Therefore I requested the guy on the phone who was not wanting to give me his name finally he gave me the name Art. After trying to explain to him why we needed it to be put upfront and also thanking him for doing this. He left this snarky comment on the box for us to read. Very disappointed in the customer service.

OKAY!!! I call this truth, against the grain of some in society.I went here to purchase my son double AA batteries, for his gaming controllers, I was speaking with the female employee at the register, I asked her if the packs of battery had a shelf life expiration date, She called over a young man named Brandon, He said, "You know, those will only last about three days in the controllers." Now, I know that most of you might not see this as an amazing thing, but I do!! I mean wow, this young man told me the truth, and, because of his honesty, I feel the need to keep on shopping here. Thank you, Brandon for being honest with me, I really appreciate it, I went to another establishment, and purchased batteries that would last longer than three days, also my son is happy!!!

Don't understand negative reviews. I have had quite the opposite experiences.I shop there often every 2-3 weeks. For a variety of products for my shop. Yes there are times that the clerks may not know everything but who does? Can't fault someone for that. By in large the staff does the very best to genuinely help u either in finding something, checking , stock or more detail technical questions. Having been there 17 times this year I am quite satisfied. The product selection, overall good products and reasonable service.I give them 2 thumbs up.I can't help but wonder if the negative comments are from people wanting something for nothing, wanting to return a tool they used once / sorta of a free rental or needed instructions on how to use a tie wrap. All sorts of creeps in the world
