Hanford House

This is absolutely by far the best place I have ever stayed at! In all my years of traveling with Home Depot and etc.....amazing.You owe it to yourself to visit this amazing town and stay here!

We truly loved our stay at Hanford House in Sutter Creek. It was a beautiful experience. The downtown area is within walking distance which makes for a very pleasant stay. We could have a little wine, then walk to have dinner. Great restaurants and shopping a few feet away. The room was gorgeous and had a cute little balcony, heated bathroom floors, most comfortable bed, loved the pillows, delicious fresh warm scones delivered to our door at 7 am, along with a coffee/tea bar located upstairs close to our room. The staff was awesome, very friendly and welcoming. You get to order breakfast upon check in--which I might add, was presented in a perfect manner. Delicious (breakfast burrito and fruity yogurt) We will definitely be back. An extremely romantic mini vacation for my sweetheart and I. October 2024

Quaint hotel in Gold Country. Located in small town Sutter Creek.Laid back vibe of the town.Rooms nicely appointed.Enjoy breakfast and lunch at the in hotel restaurant. The Element is a wonderful find.

OK...we are back and the weather is warmer and all I really have to say is...(drum roll please)....the scones are back! The original recipe delivered to your door. Even the lady at the front desk mentioned this, and as promised, this morning it all came to fruition! I know, this sounds silly, but it's the little things. Welcome back!!

Great little place to stay for the night or two. Perfect room sizes, bathrooms, customer service and coffee and scones in the morning. Great place to stay while having wine and food in town.

Booked a Cottage here for a quick Mother/Daughter getaway weekend. We'd never visited Sutter Creek but had heard great things. We booked Cottage #1 for one night and it was nice. Furnishings were modern and comfortable. And I loved the fresh warm scones that get delivered in the mornings to your door step. Only issue is they don't stay to warm when it's freezing outside like it was during our stay. We also got breakfast with our stay and that too is delivered to your door with plastic wrap over it. This was pretty lack luster in my opinion. We got the Avocado Toast and Yogurt with berries and granola. It held us over till lunch but wasn't especially memorable. I found the "closet/coffee bar" to be odd. I hung my clothes up and they covered the coffee maker. Odd concept. But the bathroom was nice and the shower/tub was HUGE. They even have nice robes to wear. From what I've heard, this is the nicest hotel this tiny town has to offer however I was a little taken back that the cottage was over $300 a night! Rooms in San Francisco, Napa and Sonoma run about this price so I was kinda surprised that this little town was charging so much. Although it was a holiday weekend so maybe that's part of it. Customer service was great. I loved that they have wine time after check in and the guy was nice enough to refill my glass. Bonus points! Over all I would stay here again but I think I'd try to book earlier to see if we can get a room inside the hotel instead of a cottage. The town is ADORABLE so we'll be back.

My husband and I recently stayed at Hanford House to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had an amazing time! The cottage was spotless and comfortable. Complimentary scones were brought to our room in the morning which were delicious. We dined at Element for dinner and absolutely loved the food and delicious cocktails. It is located close enough to Main St to walk to all the shops and tasting rooms. The best part though was the customer service! My husband and I completely misunderstood the complimentary breakfast instruction which in turn could have prevented us from enjoying breakfast but rather than allowing us to just check out and miss breakfast (again, it was our misunderstanding) they went out of their way to make sure we were provided with the amazing breakfast we had selected upon check in. I was so pleasantly surprised by the "above and beyond" attitude and graciousness they showed to us. It certainly made our anniversary that much more enjoyable at the Hanford House. We have already started planning our next trip back and hope to bring family and friends with us to enjoy this little piece of paradise perfectly situated in beautiful downtown Sutter Creek!!

Great service and very clean room (we stayed in Cottage #3). The warm scones were a nice touch. The restaurant (Element) had really good breakfast (make sure you book a reservation). My only complaint is that the mattress had a huge dip in the middle. Cottage #3 needed a new mattress yesterday.Paid $672 for 2 nights.
