Gracie Jiu-Jitsu

We shopped 7 schools. Came back to the 1st one bc they raised the bar too high! Instructor Bernard loves what he does and it shows. The babies love him. They learn in the most fun way possible and actually retain the information he gives them! Let's be real, parents are investing in their children in hopes for an ROI. This place delivers indefinitely. We are excited to watch our son evolve in BJJ at this school. Friendly and dedicated staff, great communication and wonderful network of families.10/10/10 all the way.

Dragged here by my sister and we took a 2 and half hour intro class. When we arrived we were greeted by one of the instructors who gave us a tour of the new building which was super clean-very nice place. Jason the instructor, who was very informative and fun and engaging gave very good instructions and examples that were understandable for a newcomer like myself. The techniques that we practiced were pretty easy for me to get down and the support from the other instructors gave me great confidence. So much confidence that I got a chance to partner up with my sister and absolutely annihilate her into submission! We really enjoyed ourselves and I finally got to even the playing field with my older sister lol, hopefully soon with a few more classes she'll be the one calling me big sis.

Elk Grove location...I first visited as a spectator and a short time later approved of their values of life. (Respect, Responsibilities, Honesty) They offered a two week trial period on a class called Fit Jitsu. I'm 68 yrs old and already knew I've lost a lot of my physical capabilities such as getting up off the floor, balance, agility and my overall strength has diminished. Fit Jitsu 5 weeks later has helped me identify unused muscles and strengthen them. I feel the adrenaline pumping and endorphins after each work out of only 40 minutes per day. In summary I saw and feel the advantages of Fit Jitsu...

I am a 4th degree black belt and travel a lot to teach Seminars. The facility is top notch, 1st class super clean! The instructors are super friendly, knowledgeable and trustworthy, teaching GJJ curriculum direct from the source. I would have no hesitation to bring my kids to this school.

Just want to give a big thanks to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.My daughter absolutely loves learning Jiu-Jitsu, She always tells me the moves that she learned for the day and the friends she trained with. I highly recommend parents take their kids here to learn Jiu-Jitsu, Great way to build a confidence, teamwork and discipline. Thanks again for teaching and supporting our community.

Wow just took the intro Women's course , it was fun and challenging. I learned a lot that I will take with me, can't wait to sign up for more classes.

For anyone who has ever been on the fence about trying jiujitsu for the first time, this is hands down the best place to get started. The Gracie Combatives program is a great at teaching the basic fundamentals and it's broken down into slices.For anyone who has ever trained BJJ before, you know exactly what I mean when some places make you feel like everyone in the room is speaking a different language while you're trying to learn the alphabet. There's nothing worse than feeling like you are paying a monthly fee to get routinely roughed up. This is not that place. As Coach Jason says, what good is training if you are too beat up to use jiujitsu when it matters most -- in a position where you have to defend yourself. The Combatives teaches you the alphabet of jiujitsu before you are asked to put together words and sentences, figuratively speaking.I have been to a handful of places in the Elk Grove area and this is the cleanest facility -- then again it's also the newest. The staff are also very friendly and take the time to answer your questions.If you have already attained a higher belt, the school will recognize your rank. Also, note that the focus is on practical self-defense rather then sport competition preparation.

Jiu-Jitsu learning doesn't get better than this! Techniques are broken down in a way that makes sense, instructors are skilled and engaging, and the staff is first class. The facility is clean, beautiful, and welcoming. There are classes for everyone from child to beginner to advanced and with a culture of safety, respect for one another, and no egos. There is absolutely no better way to start OR continue learning jiu-jitsu than Gracie University. Absolutely recommend!
