I had a conversation with LL on a Friday PM asking about a pony. She seemed very knowledgeable and accommodating and I told her that I would come by her place on Sunday and that I would be able to bring the horse back that day if it 'seemed' to work out. We left it that I would call and let her know when I was on my way and she would be at the ranch. Well, needless to say, en route, after numerous calls and texts. There was NEVER a response back from LL. I called many other horse pals and the response rate was 100%. "STAY AWAY FROM HER!" I'm glad that we didn't purchase a horse from her. I should have done my homework first and also, taken the time to read some reviews on Yelp. Still have not received a courtesy call back that the pony was sold, sorry about the inconvenience, etc. That's when I remembered that over a year ago, we HAD met her and she wanted to sell this big QH that was NOT finished to my 11 year old daughter. It definitely WAS NOT a fit for my daughter. I could see that, any NON horse person could see it. So, I agree with one of the reviewers. Lynda Lake gives horse people a BAD NAME. Find your horse somewhere else because there are a lot of horse people out there who are HONEST. BTW: Since Yelp insists that you HAVE to rate with stars I'm forced to give her a one star. I would be given her negative stars if that was possible.

I find it strange that only a couple weeks ago this business had a very positive review. Horse people talk! But I didn't find anything negative on the Internet or from friends in regards to this business until after the fact. BUYER and SELLER BEWARE. What was promised and what happened were two very different things. I don't want to drag a bunch of details into this. If your buying a horse, HAVE YOUR OWN VET CHECK IT OUT. If your selling your horse, find someone else. In my case nothing promised to me happened. While my horse was their I was told some really nasty things about this business, but It was to late. I now don't get emails answered or phone calls returned. So all the comforting things said are just empty words. I always look for the good in a person. It hurts to have been taken advantage. I'm just glad my mare isn't lame.

Lynda Lake is a horribly rude and deceitful person! I am looking to purchase a horse that was purchased from her just two months prior. She first mis-represented the horse to the buyer and also told the buyer that the sire was Hollywood Dunnit. I reached out to her to get some history on the horse. The first time I called she was abrupt and rude and told me to get more info before calling her. She later called me after the buyer called her out on that. I tried to ask questions about the history of the horse and she did not want to give any answers. I asked if the sire was Hollywood Dunnit because I wanted to check for genetic predispositions and she now says she doesn't know who the sire or dam is. She kept telling me what type of questions I should be asking which could have in no way been fact checked. I cannot even adequately describe in words what an unsavory person this is

I have been doing business with Lynda since 2011. I am a horse trainer in the Bay Area and I have purchased horses for my lesson program from Lynda. When my lesson horses get sore or need a break she lays them up for me as well. They always come home from Lynda's happy, sound and ready to go back to work. Since I buy older horses for my lesson program, they can be a little creaky but they are all safe and sane. Lots of love goes into these horses and finding them the best spot.Linda's place is unique in that the horses get to live outside in a herd environment and move around at will. For those bringing a horse into a stabled environment, you might have to put some time into helping them get adjusted. Our therapeutic riding instructor has bought several horses through Linda, and at least two didn't work out. Linda continued to take horses back and trade for another until she found the right horse to work with the disabled kids. Not many a horse trader would put that much time and energy into selling just one horse for a very low price!

Lynda Lake may has sold me 3 horses-2 fantastic matches and 1, well not so much. I, however, knew what I was getting myself into when buying any horse from any seller. I do not trust one word that comes out of the mouth of any seller I've ever bought a horse from. I advise everyone to do the same. The first 2 horses I bought, both had papers that could not be found. No problem. A simple search of the registered name for the first mare(along with marking verification), and then a tattoo lookup on the second proved her statements that the horses were x amount of years old, had this breeding, etc as true. The third horse was a mare that nobody knew much about. I owned her for well over a month before she flipped over on me and had showed she had a seriously rearing problem. I called up Lynda, she took the mare, fixed her issues and sold her for me when I said I'd rather find a horse I connect with better. Got all of my money back, and the mare found a great home when all of her issues were over. Best experience I've EVER had when contacting a prior owner on a rank horse I bought. All 3 horses I bought from her, never took a lame step, never needed additional maintenance, were the age, breed, etc she advertised them as. All three passed vet checks with flying colors. I have also boarded at Lynda's place on and off for the past 5 years. My horses(yes multiple) have never had one problem on this property. Not one injury. Not one scuff. Always kept good weight(both pastured and stalled). I have had her put training on a horse of mine and she is currently training a good friend of mine's horse with great results. I have referred countless other people to board at her place, buy horses from her, have her train their horses, etc. Out of the countless people I have referred, not one person has complained. EVERY SELLER SHOULD BE "BUYER BEWARE". LL has never failed me, and never failed one person I referred to her.

I will lay out the facts and readers can draw their own conclusions.1. I had an accepted offer on one of Lynda's horses advertised as a papered Appendix QH.2. During the pre purchase exam the vet looked in the mouth and found a Jockey Club tattoo, suggesting the horse was a pure TB. Lynda's response to this was "cool" My response was I do not want the horse if it is a pure TB as that was not what I was looking for.3.Giving her the benefit of the doubt, I asked Lynda to produce the papers showing it was an Appendix QH. She could not. I walked after paying the vet for a ranch call.4. The horse is now being advertised as a registered TB with Seattle Slew and Native Dancer in its bloodlines. (Since the horse is 6, a racing career is probably not in its future).5. I asked Lynda to refund my ranch call as for whatever reason the horse had been misrepresented and I would never have ordered the vet exam or even have ridden it if it had been properly represented.. So far no response on that request.

My horse trainer recently had the opportunity to talk with a former employee of this ranch. She was told that the horses sold are regularly "calmed" by artificial means...aka drugged. That does explain the behavior of the horse I bought and the seemingly unethical business practice of this ranch. So many people have had similar experiences to mine. How can we all be wrong? We aren't! If you are thinking about a purchase from here, do your research. The Internet has lots of information available regarding this business.
