This is a great club. Lot's of good properties and easy to get access. Perfect for our family. We've been members for over 12 years and never had a problem getting on to the ranches. There are no guarantees in hunting so it's about putting time in on the ranch and getting away from the main roads by hiking.I'm not sure what these complainers are whining about because there is no favoritism that I've seen in 12 years. The complaint about getting kicked out of a blind is completely false. We've hunted an executive blind and know exactly where this guy hunted. They were just bad duck hunters and made the experience bad for everyone else. All the surrounding blinds in the area are glad they are kicked out.

Just want to call this place out for their BS and favoritism. We were in this club for only two seasons. Please take my word for it all of my blind partners have been extremely honest and ethical hunters. We get a letter in the mail saying we will not be invited back out next year for the following reasons... skybusting, shooting wide, not letting birds work, and this one got me "walking during hunting hours". UH YEAH, we're going to walk during hunting hours to get our cripples. Last year when we joined another hunter directly south of us about 200-250 yards told us we were lucky and he was supposed to get that blind, but the club screwed up and placed us in it on accident. The same guy has been the one making complaints and i know that. The best part is we have watched that guy pass shoot birds at 60+ yards!! Many times over 75-100 yards on ducks and geese. Every bird that we shot this year was feet down in our pond or shot at in a very killable distance. I guess this is what happens when you shoot the most birds on the club for the year. Highly highly recommend listening to other reviews and myself when it comes to this place. I have also posted on Facebook and other places and i've had many people commenting about similar issues and how much they dislike this place. STAY AWAY.

don't waste your moneyi have been a member of golden ram sportsmen's club for two years, here is what i have found:hedgepeth ranch; a zone they really only have a couple of properties that are huntable, and they are hunted out in my opinion. when to hedgepeth ranch (one of the premiere properties) opening weekend of archery deer season last year and didn't see one deer taken that weekend, by hunters who have hunted the ranch for many years. also, the road into this place is terrible "it take five and half hours (5 1/2) to get there and it's only 152 miles away. also, when my wife and i got there, after making reservation the night before, the combination to get in the gate didn't work. had to find reception and wait around until we could get them on the phone. seems they had changed the combination and did not borthered to tell us when we made the reservations. timberland ranch; b zonemy wife and i when to timberland ranch two times. the first time just stayed one night and didn't hunt. when we got there, there was not a porta potty at the camping area as promised on all the properties and the camping area was hardly cleared and not level. the whole ranch is straight up and down (bring mountaineering gear if you want get off the logging roads). my wife was afraid to stay because there was no one else around at all. after, talking to other members is seem very few ever hunt this ranch. well, trying to get some hunting in, i decided to try timberland again for bear, but to stay on the coast in the fort bragg area. we made reservations and took our trailer to mckerricher state park (about 20 miles from the property). drove to timberland ranch the next day to hunt, which i thought might be good because it was raining hard for the first time in ages. got the to gate and the combination i was given would not work on the lock, so i drove to the archery only area gate to see if it would work there and it did (didn't have a bow with me). went back to gate and tried again in the poring rain wouldn't work, and didn't want to lay on ground and see if the bottom lock would work because i' d be cover in mud. went back to camp. the next day went to hunt again and the combination would not work on the bottom lock. so, had to drive to the top of the mountain to get cell phone reception to call golden ram again. kandice tacito told me that was the combination and that i must have work the combination wrong, i told her i didn't think so but would try one more time and call her back after the ten mile round trip back to the gate from the top of the mountain. well it didn't work again and called her back. kandice told me she would have to get ahold of nick and have him call me. so we waited around for nick to call and he final told us that if they changed the combination it must be this number. so we drove back to gate and it didn't work again. drove to top of mountain and called nick again, after two and half hours of trying to get into ranch, nick told me i could still hunt the ranch by walking in from the road. my wife and i drove back to mckerricher and when home after a wasted 550 mile trip. p. s. kandice did leave a voice mail on my phone while we were on our way home saying we could rifle hunt on the in the archery area, but we were done by then.summit valley ranch: b zonei wanted to hunt this ranch. called to make reservations and was told by nick that i couldn't hunt there because of the pot growers have closed this ranch. but this is still listed as one of the properties.tyson - o'ferrall ranch: b zonemy wife i were in the covelo area and wanted to check out the ranch to see if we wanted to hunt there. call kandice tacito for the code which we were given and drove the 40 miles to look over the ranch, and the code to get in would not work. knew better than try and "call" from our experience at timberland ranch. the day turned out to be just another wasted day of our lives and money by golden ram.cholame ranch: d zonetried this ranch in 2014 when i first joined the club for a couple of days. there was one other hunter there who had been there for eight days hunting and he got just about the smallest forked horn i have ever seen on the day i arrived. did see one other doe in the two days we were there.bar z ranch near the town of covelo: b zonei hunted bar z ranch, 12 days in 2015, and saw one forked horn on the ranch in that time (3 point or better ranch). what we found was you could not turn around on aweekend with out running into another hunter. (way over crowded on the weekends). we left the friday october 23, 2015, didn't want to be run over by the crowd on the weekend again. at that time there had been 13 deer and 8 bear taken during the archery and rirle seasons combined. based on the number of hunters i saw there must have been at least 500 days of hunting. harvest percentage seems to work out to a lower harvest than the zone av

I would be remiss if I didn't relay my personal experience with Golden Ram Sportsman's Club back in 2023. I had made a deposit for a blind seat at Natomas Levee Rd/Fifield with the intention of hunting the 23/24 season. Unfortunately, I was beset with a life threatening health issue and couldn't make hunting work with a colostomy bag inside my waders. I made it known to Bruce, our contact with Golden Ram, that I couldn't make the commitment, so I contacted my blind partner, and he said he would take my seat.I then contacted Bruce, with plenty of notice, to let him know I filled my spot, and Bruce assured me in a text message that I would get my deposit in the amount of $584 back. Nick (pres. at Golden Ram), also agreed with me that my deposit should be returned. Over a year later, no refund, and nothing but crickets. Think twice before spending your money at Golden Ram...buyer beware!

I'm done w golden ram! They loose leases w/o membership input or notice prior to fee due dates. They lease property out to highest bidders around that of the general membership. These clubs are then called executive ram clubs... (after we paid!)They routinely close ranches without disclosure to membership holders and offer no considerations (again after we pay) Last year i showed up to hunt "my spot" only to find signs saying no hunting posted the night before opening morning! They just sent me another map saying that it is still in the club! BS!No water in sac valley for ducks, I got it. Do they offer to refund fees?... nope! Full pop to all us dummys that paid in good faith.Rules aren't applied to all. If you're a patrolman, hunt wherever you want, including the nieghboring properties. If you have a quad, stay on trails unless you're a patrolaman... (they aren't patrolman when they are hunting)I recently reported a poaching/want and waste that went unreported from the protrolman to the dfg because it was his buddy. Dfg was never told about it either! Now, I need to call them. I have the gps coordinates and heard the entire conversation over the radio. Total bs!So I finally wrote a letter with my fee check about all of the above thinking they might give a shit. They sent me the check back telling me to find a new club. WTF! Again, they take a big crap on a 20 year+ member! I guess asking for what you are sold is rubbing them wrong. Must be too much to ask for? It's not ok to use "bill of goods" and "bait and switch" tactics. These guys are really something else! I think they have an obligation to make me, other disgruntled members and the dfg whole. I guess we'll see.
