Golden Bowl

Wow, new found Chinese restaurant for us. Recently moved to Modesto and trying new restaurants to find the best. Golden Bowl is by far the best. We've tried in Oakdale and thought that was good, this one is #1. Exceptionally clean and fresh. The cleanest restaurant I've ever been to, same with the bathroom. Especially nice since I'm elderly and disabled, the bathroom matters. The waitress and waiter are very friendly and attentive. It's like going home to see family. They interact with the customers and I love the joking around, made it a nice relaxing afternoon for some excellent food. Our new go to for Chinese food. Thank you for the nice experience.

This is out go to for Chinese food. Although they are in Houghson, it is worth the drive. Food was not greasy, they got our order right. It is a well run family business!

I'm writing this review at the risk of a ton of people showing up and ruining my spot. I have had almost everything on the menu. Nothing is bad. It's all good! I can't even eat Chinese Food anywhere else now. Everything in this place is made in house and made fresh. We take the kids and they inhale anything from here. Sweet and sour sauce is always sweet and a little tangy. Hot and sour soup is hot and hearty. Gyoza is unlike any I've ever had. All made fresh in house. Bonus- we usually order the walnut honey prawns, salty spicy squid, orange chicken, ginger beef, and the chicken wings is usually the big order we place for our family. I love the ladies here. They're not some 20 something servers. These ladies have seen some shit and they are the best aunties/ Nanas/memaw/mamas you will ever meet. Don't mess with them because I bring them Mother's Day gifts. These people are a treasure to Hughson! The inside is legit 70s-90s Chinese food restaurant style. They have a couple large tables that have gigantic lazy Susan in the middle. It can sit 8-14 comfortably. We brought 14 a few times. Don't be afraid to try it all.

The one in Hughson is excellent! I love going here for Chinese! The restaurant is very clean and orderly. The service is absolutely great and they treat you as a longtime customer. The food is remarkable, with healthy portions, have never left there hungry, usually over full. There are some others around Modesto but not as good or as nice.

Nothing special, but good enough for being local. Combo plates are big and food is made fast.

Always good food. And even when they are busy they do very well. One of my regular haunts. House made potstickers are a must. But it's all delicious.

Generous portions. Americanized Chinese food. I asked for chopsticks and never got them, I'm guessing they didn't have any! Food was tasty.Lots of people dining there, either there are not many restaurants around or they have a good base of customers.I'll probably try it again.

Food was sooo good! Randomly looked up Chinese food in hughson and chose the first one i saw and im glad i did. The ladies were very nice I just wish they would come to the table to ask if we need anything else or how everything was going.

Took some friends there and had a great dinner. Service is wonderful.

Delicious food and the staff is nice. Definitely a hole in the wall, I wish I lived closer
