A spacious park next to the river. The only problem with it is the lack of trees except around the perimeter. Shade is a commodity here, so not my favorite location for a picnic or concert. If you want open fields for sports or frisbee, it'll be just right!

Glenn Hall Park is at the far end of River Park, a small "island" neighborhood adjacent to CSUS. It has a large community pool, updated & fenced children's play structure, soccer and softball field and two tennis courts. Weekend parking can be difficult as river goers descend in droves, due to the American River access here at Paradise Beach. As of April '15, only one of the tennis courts has a net, and the courts are in 6/10 condition with cracks and the occasional weed popping through. The pool is popular and it's in great condition, as is the kids' play area.

What a great park! Tennis courts, swimming pool, huge field for soccer and maybe baseball? I go here to park and take my beasts swimming in the river. Up over the levy, slight right and turn down the path to a little lagoon that provides ample swim room out of the quick current of the river. Usually other dogs to play with, it's out Saturday morning wear the dogs out so I can have some peace spot!

IMPORTANT: this review is for the Glenn Hall Park pool area only! (We have no complaints as far as the playground area) If you're planning on coming here for a swim, come on a day that the manager is not present or be prepared for the manager to suck the fun out of your kids pool day. I came here with my two little girls (age 7+5) on Saturday and we had a great time at their pool. They have three sections, each with different depths (3ft, 5ft and 12ft). Both my girls were wearing life guard approved vests on and were able to swim in all three pools and they had a great time. We decided to come back on Sunday and swim a bit more to beat the heat. Well apparently all the regulations had changed on Sunday. According to the manager present, my kids are not allowed to swim in the 12ft pool even if they are wearing the vests. Additionally, they have to be within my arm's reach if they want to swim in the 5ft pool (while still wearing the vests). In other words, my kids are only allowed to freely swim in the 3ft pool which is tiny and the most overcrowded. Hence the reason we were trying to move on to the 5ft pool. So beware! Management is terrible here. Clearly they are not communicating their rules right to their staff and the staff is not enforcing the rules correctly so the regulations" might get switched on you.

Glenn Hall is a great park with plenty of things to do. From walking down to the river, to going to the swimming pool, to watching a Saturday morning soccer or baseball game. There are even some local folks having some pick up games.

This is a quaint little neighborhood park with a lot of foot traffic on a weekend day, so I'm surprised to see only one other review for the place. I stopped in to get some fresh air and connect with Mama Earth while out talking with some various local business owners. It's small, lush, well-maintained, with a great play area if you have kids. I especially like the number of picnic tables and shady areas where it's easy to completely pass out due to too much relaxation. Not that that's a bad thing, I just don't want to be mistaken for a vagrant. Overall, this is a great spot for the family or a young lover's retreat.

Went to the Glenn Hall Park Pool today for the first time. Can't express how much my kids and I loved it. Clean, huge, 3 lifeguards who were very professional, really on watch. I felt very safe there and the kids had a blast. There was a very large pool with a large amount of shallow end for the beginners. Not at all crowded when we went. Lots of places to sit or have lunch. We will be returning often...

My favorite new place to take my dog. Glen Hall Park is in a pretty nice neighborhood and easy to find. I like to go to the beach area, which has lots of soft sand and some beautiful spring flowers about now. There is a spot before you get to the main river that has a beach and some still, overflowing water, which is great if you've been looking for a place to swim or cool off your dog. The water doesn't rush too quickly like a lot of other spots along the river. Although this spot seems to be drying up, I think there is pretty good access to the main part of the river as well.My dog also likes to chase rocks and there are plenty to throw. In addition to a killer beach spot, the park has a pretty decent playground for the kids and a pool. There is also a grass field if you have kids in the area that like to play field sports as well.

This place is kind of small but it has almost everything. Theres 2 tennis courts, a swimming pool, soccer field, and a baseball field. Theres also access to the river as you'll also see a lot of Sac State people heading to the riverbank. It seems like theres a party everyday but don't worry it doesn't get rowdy on the park grounds. Tennis courts have nite lights and trees provide shade on those hot 100 degree Sacramento days.

This is a review of the PLAYGROUND ONLY. Compared with other playgrounds in Sacramento, the Glenn Hall Park one is relatively large with about 20,000 square feet inside the fence (judging from a satellite image). It is fenced all around, but the gates were both held open the day we visited.Amenities include an "Adventure Play Area" for 5-12 year olds, a swing set with 4 swings, a sand area with three backhoes, and one picnic table. The trees shade the area fairly well. It's clean and attractive. Rest rooms can be found near the pool. A parking lot is close by, and the on-street parking is good. Neighborhood is nice. Overall, a great place to take your young child.
