Oh. My. God. Okay this is by far the tastiest pho I've had. And I've tried spots in Turlock, Modesto, Tracy, and Livermore. So delicious. The broth is so flavorful and brothy without being too rich in oil. It's so rich in flavor. The size, portion of the pho. The best. THIS is a large pho. Other places large is a medium in my opinion. Also, idk if they're new so prices are low. But it's like $14 for this large delightful bowl of pho. Place is very clean and looks hip! Not too bright, not too dark and the music isn't too loud either. Service is on point, they didn't make me feel bad for asking for extra lemons either ! Plus plus in my book! I definitely will be back with my friends

My wife and I ate here a few nights ago at the recommendation of a friend. We had been passing by the complex seeing the sign "gialai Restaurant". The name didn't scream "Vietnamese" restaurant. After a quick Google search on "Gia Lai" it all makes sense, a Provence in Vietnam. Anyways, the ambiance, service, and food were very good. The waiter probably thought we were greedy since it was just the 2 of us at the table, and we orderedSalt and pepper chicken wingsGrilled pork vermicelli bowlSpicy sausage fried riceLemon Grass chickenWe were, of course, think leftovers.Oh, and a small Pho to go (for our daughter) The lemon grass chicken was very flavorful, best we've in a long time. Reminded us of a hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant we used to go to near E 10th st in Oakland in the '90s.The other dishes we also flavorful. Although we were expecting something different with the spicy sausage fried rice. We were thinking something like a spicy Chinese type sausage, but instead, it tasted like an Evergood hotlink... still tasty though. The price to food portion was just right. We will definitely return to try more stuff.

Recently, Gia Lai came across my radar and as I am always in the mood for a bowl noodles, I knew I had to stop in and give them a try! It's very new and bright and tidy inside. The dining room feels nice and open, and they have a secondary room that is a bit more intimate. I love that they have nice big booths for larger groups. The service was prompt and friendly, especially from the manager/owner.I ordered the 'oysters on ice' from the specials, and the 'roast duck noodle soup' from the regular menu. The oysters themselves were delicious, but I prefer mine a bit more undressed--though the tobiko is a really nice touch and a fun textural component without over-complicating things. The duck soup was SO GOOD! The broth was silky and had great depth to it and the duck was so delicious! I do wish the vegetables were chopped because the pieces are a little awkward to eat--wouldn't mind the meat being taken off the bone either but that's just a personal preference thing. One thing I REALLY loved was the iced tea--not just because it's delicious but because it's priced appropriately! Other places in the valley I've been to lately are charging $4 to $5 dollars for a glass of iced tea and that's just too much. Not so at Gia Lai and I appreciate it so much. I'll definitely be back, but not until the outside temperatures go down because it is very warm and STILL inside. Not ideal for a hot bowl of noodles. They could use some music playing as well because it's so quiet inside when there's only a few tables occupied. Keep on doing your thing Gia Lai! Excited to check back in!

What brought us here the first time was that we wanted to try a new pho place, as we haven't LOVED one since DK Noodle and the old owner. The pho was great and we have since been here twice! The Thai tea is not my favorite (too sweet), but I feel like I'm very particular when it comes to Thai tea! The service is decent, as well.

THE BEST PHO IVE EVER HAD! The broth was dense & extremely flavorful! I ordered it to go- they packaged it so nicely with all of the fixings, the server was so nice and friendly and the place was super clean! Only problem is I wish I seen more people in there! I hope they have a presence on social media. Modesto definitely has a hidden gem here! Can't wait to go back!
