Genevieve and her crew were awesome and a delight to work with. I was grateful to have found her on Thumbtack. I thought her prices were too good to be true, but she was the real deal. You definitely get what you pay for.They stayed for several hours at my wedding and I received 424 pictures to choose from. They were so patient with my mother-in-law. I can't remember the wording exactly, but it was mentioned in the contract that there shouldn't be other cameras with a certain lens/flash interrupting them. However, my mother-in-law had her camera and got too excited and I thought she was in their way, but Genevieve and her crew were very gracious and did not make an issue of it. I felt very encouraged while Genevieve and her crew were filming and taking pictures. Genevieve made my husband and I feel like a beautiful couple!I waited one year to finally pick out the photos I wanted (not encouraged) and Genevieve was kind enough to take my request without charging a late fee or giving me a hard time. In a timely manner, I received a Shutterfly photo album, several prints, a CD with all the images, and a video. Shane was very prompt when working with my husband to get the music for the video. He put everything together nicely. They knew our style and understood our sense of humor.Every correspondence with Genevieve and Shane before and after the wedding has been timely, polite, and professional. My only critique is that the photo and video quality could've been a lot better.

For the price that she quoted us we thought it was good for we were on a budget. The package would be photography and video. Couple of hi -res pictures for framing I guess. She sent the contract and stipulated the poses. Our engagement pictorial didn't push through because of some technicalities (not their fault) but we never had the engagement pictorial which she promised to do after the wedding and we were pretty easy going about it and although I would love to enumerate what went wrong (blogged on my site) I will just state that the time I waited for fulfilment has been stressful and upsetting. On April 29, she emailed me the online gallery link to the pictures. We were excited but it was kind of an installment basis. She would add pictures here and there, and the pictures were mere repetition of one shot. One shot would have 3 different renders and I was not happy because in some of the pictures resolution and hues were just terrible. In fairness, she actually sent me the original files via CD ( and although I have not seen them yet because everything happened while we were transitioning and moving out of state, I am hoping they are good). In the same email (April 29) she said that her videographer was working hard on my video and she asked for at least 4 songs. We waited, we waited and in between she asked for the second time for the songs to be used in the video because she said that her phone was broken or it reset hence lost my text messages. Couple months passed and I followed up on the video and on July 14 (two months later), she sent me an email with the link to my wedding video. ALL 4 minutes of poor edited video sequence with one song, NOT THE SONGS I GAVE HER, but some random song from my husband's band and it was a song for the lead vocal's girlfriend! The videos I made for my wedding was even better in terms of concept and continuity! Okay, trying hard not to taint the wedding with bad memories, we were still pretty easy going about it and I actually requested for the video files instead because I am a non-linear video editor and I wanted so much for the video to be sent to my family overseas. That was July and in between we communicated about how getting the files. She said for me to install google drive only to come back 3 days later and tell me that it was uploading very slowly, etc. We talked about a jump drive and because we were in the middle of selling our house and moving and all that, I was also not pressing too much. In August, I did some free work for her and she kept asking how much. So I said that if she really wanted to pay me, just buy the jumpdrive and mail me the files. Her answer was Amazon takes 2 days to mail the jumpdrive. In September I communicated to her that I was just gonna mail the jump drive when we get to our new house. I just didn't want to take the risk of losing it by sending the files to the old address etc. Finally, On October 29 I texted her to give her the heads up that I was sending the jump drive to her. Her response to me when I told her that I was sending the jump drive was she wasn't gonna get to her mailbox until the end of November because they were going to Hawaii, but she said that if I sent it sooner I should be able to get it back fast enough. Tracking reflected that it was indeed delivered October 31. When I asked her to please expedite her response was she will try, really? On November 5, I texted her and reminded her to send the files soon-NO REPLY. On November 11, I texted again-NO REPLY. On that same day I called her phone and left a message and there is still NO REPLY as of this typing (November 13) " Hire her at your own risk.

So, Genevieve was the photographer for my sister's wedding on May 1st and the previews we got were amazing. My sister - in - law is also a photographer, so pleasing her can be difficult. I was so glad that Genevieve was able to deliver. Since my sister and her wife live out of state, I met with and spoke to Genevieve a few times to coordinate before the wedding. She was reasonably flexible when we had to adjust the schedule for the wedding ceremony and accommodated requests that my sister for certain staged shots.I have already booked her to capture my 30th birthday this July and a special photo shoot for my best friend's birthday present!

Genevieve Jerome did an outstanding job for my daughter's recent wedding in April that was held in Los Gatos. She was so professional and a delight to work with. She worked closely with our wedding coordinator and took special care to get the most amazing photos before, during and after the wedding. Genevieve definitely has a strong eye for detail. Her and her crew showed up on time and made all of our guests feel comfortable. She also had no problem telling us how to pose and what to do. One of my daughter's guests commend how abrupt she was, but we appreciated that about her, because she really stuck to our coordinators timeline. The only negative of the day was one of our guests would not stop getting in front of the camera, but Genevieve did not flinch once. She took the pressure and stress with stride and kept moving right along. She was creative and had wonderful ideas that enhanced her unique photos.We plan on using Genevieve for all of our special events in the future. She really understood our photography needs and stayed within our budget. Her timeline for getting back the photo gallery to us was spot on as well. I believe my daughter barely waited a month, before getting her edited gallery back, which is a super fast turnaround. We are currently reviewing all of the photos to see which ones to chose. All in all, even though the day was stressful Genevieve and her team handled everything well and did a fantastic job.

Finding a wedding photographer was such an overwhelming task and my husband and I were so glad to have found Genevieve Jerome Photography. From our initial discussions, we found that she as easy to work with, offered us different photo packages to help us stay in my budget, and had a fun journalistic style of photography that worked perfectly with our personalities and venue.Genevieve was extremely organized in the months leading up to my wedding and maintained constant contact. It was reassuring to know that she had everything under control. On the day of our wedding, she and her assistant showed up early and were ready to go. Despite the fact that I was still running around to set things up (my wedding was mainly DIY) Genevieve set about taking dress photos and pre-wedding shots without me having to ask. My husband, a stickler for tradition, didn't want to take any pre-ceremony shots, so Genevieve efficiently used that time to get separate bridesmaid and groomsmen photos. During the ceremony, we didn't even notice she and her assistant were there taking photos. We were surprised at some of the great shots they got because they were very quiet and unobtrusive. Ninja photographers!Genevieve really shined during the family photos. Knowing that we were on a tight timeline, she organized everyone for a super-fast and efficient photo shoot and even included some fun group photos at my request. This was the first time my whole family had been together in several years so I know it couldn't have been easy to get us to stop talking and take photos!The photos were truly beautiful and I laughed and cried as I clicked through the easy access online gallery she put up for me and my family. Like everyone says, the wedding was a blur to me and I can barely even remember some of the moments during the reception so I am grateful to have the photos to relive the memories.The lighting at our venue was very difficult to work with (indoor mostly low-light with some blinding accent lights) and she handled it expertly and used the strange lighting conditions to create some really cool lighting effects. Genevieve was also very accommodating to all the crazy shots my husband and I wanted to try out. Our venue was in a planetarium so we had to get some fun photos! Genevieve was AMAZING!!! From our engagement shoot to the wedding, she really rocked it! We had a night wedding and her and Shane arrived right on time! She captured me getting ready and even did a mini photoshoot with my 4 year old daughter, while shane got amazing shots of the guys. It got dark sooner than expected but Genevieve had a great last minute vision and took some amazing shots of our wedding party! I would definitely recommend her to anyone! Very fun outgoing person and extremely professional! I wasnt a bridezilla so i did not expect PERFECTION like some people. Things happen!!!! But i can DEFINITELY say she made the best of my night and i couldnt have asked for a better photographer!! As for her timeliness... I got married 9/19/15 @ 7 pm and i ALREADY have previews ;) She is amazing!!

Had her shoot our wedding a few months back. Very competitively priced which was great for our tight budget. They got several pictures and also provide a free engagement session prior to the wedding which is amazing.The only downside was the photographer lacked patience and it was unprofessional. She never said anything, but I could tell that she was getting irritated and impatient which to me should have not happened. But putting all of that aside, she was an amazing photographer, loved the photos, I would use her again and recommend her to friends and family.

I had the worst experience with Genevieve for my wedding. We originally signed a contract that said prints package, a canvas, wedding album and video and she would include pictures of us getting ready. When I told her the groom and I would be at different locations she wanted to charge an extra trip charge. She also mentioned her videographer quit so no video would be included On the day of the wedding she was supposed to get to my hotel at 10am to start taking pictures of my hair and makeup. She texted me to let me know she was in traffic and would not make it in time. I'm sorry. I think you should know about the traffic when you book a job. Thank God my makeup and hair girl was also a photographer and had coincidently brought her camera. If I would have known I would have hired her to take the pictures. So Genevieve missed taking pictures of me getting into my dress. Two hours later we meet at City Hall. The rest of the night was smooth. She directed us well with the poses. Once it was time to get proofs was an even bigger nightmare. My wedding was July 15, 2014. She uploaded a few pictures on facebook after a few weeks, but everytime I asked her when the proofs would be ready she said soon, she's working on them and they are very busy. I would text and email and half of the time she would respond. The other times she would ignore. FOUR MONTHS LATER, on Oct 10 I received an email with the link to my photos. I was so excited to finally be able to see them. I should have known as soon as I opened the email that she didn't really care about the whole thing. She had misspelled my name on the album title. Who does that? As I'm looking through the pictures, they are good but nothing impressive. Especially not for five months of waiting around. I was expecting to be blown away and I really wasn't. There were a lot of pictures with horrible lighting, crooked shots etc; I was disappointed to say the least. All my friends and family were not impressed either. Most of the pictures my friends took even came out better.I downloaded the prints and just placed the order of the prints that came with the contract. 15 pictures. The canvas she said they no longer do but she can give me an extra code on the prints website. Seriously??? I then picked the pictures to add to the wedding album she provides. A month later when the album arrived it also had the wrong wedding date on the album (This was partly my fault since I was now wrapped up in my sisters wedding that I put her date, but being my photographer you should have known the correct date!) The album is a joke too. It's a thin little magazine like flimsy piece of crap! So I got no video, no canvas, no getting ready with my dress pics and a crappy wedding album with the wrong date. Not only that after all the extra fees she charge my total payment ended up being over $600. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND!!!

I don't know where to begin. If you are considering this vendor please proceed with caution. My experience with her is as follows: 1) She confirmed my engagement photo session and the weekend of denied scheduling this appointment. Even after I provide her with the original email confirming. She never took accountability. Yes the session is complimentary but the an appointment is an appointment. 2) I waited three months for my wedding photos. I would recommend making three payments when booking. There should be one deposit to secure the date, one a month before the wedding and third when you receive the pictures. 3) I finally received my photos and the family portraits are washed out. When we were getting ready to shoot them she moved us to this location to get a different background. It was a beautiful day and yes the sun was out, but as the professional she should have know that if we were standing in the shade and the sun was bright, the results would be washed out. Had we taken the photos where I suggested they would have been OK. I kindly asked her to please edit them and she asked me to refer to the contract as there was a fee. I reviewed the contract and there is no verbiage regarding "re-edits" and a $20 fee per photo. I expressed how important these family photos are and she still refused to fix them unless I paid. My experience with her is unpleasant to say the least. I have been in a customer service position for 18 years and have come to recognize that customer satisfaction is IMPORTANT and should always be a priority. Especially when dealing some someones special day such as their wedding.
