My boyfriend and I stayed here for valentine's day weekend and had a wonderful time! Our room was very comfortable and the layout of the hotel made it feel very homey. There's a fish tank and we made friends with one of the fish, and also made friends with the cats in the back. I hope to stay here again next time we come back for wine tasting! :)

Good Afternoon, Yelpies!!!If you are looking for a welcoming location to stay the night at then look no further. This place is clean and crazy quiet. The staff are amazing and they have plenty of wine choices. Yup plenty. This place is set up like the OG bed and breakfast before that App was created. This is a great place for the business person passing through town or a weekend getaway.

My adult kids and I stayed one night for my nieces wedding at a nearby winery and it was a great experience. I'd booked the room online for three people not knowing that each room only had one bed! The staff was very gracious and provided us with a roll-away which worked out just fine for our short stay. My young adults loved the free coffee, chips, candy, and pastries left out for guests. The great service and the friendliness of the owners/staff there will have me recommending them to family/friends who need a place to stay close to Sacramento/Elk Grove.

My friend and I finally stopped by the Freeport Wine Country Inn to see if they were serving food to people not staying at the Inn and we were delighted when they said they were open for business. The environment is that of a traditional Bed & Breakfast as we felt as though we were sitting in a peaceful cozy dining room at someones house. There is a long elegant bar to the left of the dining room and several tables for two as well as large group tables in the dining area. For tasting we ordered a flight also owned by Carvalho Family Winery. After the flight we ordered a bottle of Boat Shed Red, which I paired with a spring salad and a hand thrown pep flatbread pizza. The service was outstanding, the food - delicious and fresh, and the wine in one word... jammy. A score for you big reds out there.

So there it was.... during spring of 2021, this year, and we were in the thick of remodeling one of our main bathrooms to the point of it being unusable. This is the bathroom that has the large tub in it. We both like a good relaxing soak after long working days and after going on the second month of this remodel taking forever, and the weather was rainy and nasty outside. Plus, this is still during the pandemic where you couldn't really go anywhere. One especially long work week I was feeling the strain by the time Thursday rolled around and all I wanted to do was just soak in a nice warm LUSH bomb infused tub. That's all I wanted. Maybe some wine to go with. So, I found this business on Yelp (of course) and called up to just make sure that they were open, could we rent a room for a night, any restrictions, etc etc. I recently bought a new phone and unfortunately my text messages did not transfer over, so I cannot remember the name of the gentleman that helped me, but we talked first on the phone and he assured me that I wasn't the only one in town that calls them for a local staycation spot. In fact, he mentioned that there's regulars that stay here. The main selling point is that he mentioned a big soaking bath tub and pricing was very reasonable. I booked it immediately for that evening and after speaking, he texted me with all the contact free details. Room number, access code, directions, where to park, and of course to contact him with any questions. The process was seamless. IN the room, we found it to be warm and comforting. The decor is a little rustic and outdated for some, but the main objective that we went there for, the tub, was amazing. It easily fit both of us comfortably and had the jets available for that extra massage. My wife didn't even know that I had booked us a night there. It was a surprise until we literally arrived. It was the perfect night for this too because it was rainy and gross outside. We didn't stay the full night because we are kind of snobbish with our comfortable bed at home, but we did stay for several hours, took 2 separate baths just to get the full benefit, and I think we even watched a show. It was the perfect end to a long week and a relaxing start to our weekend. Thank you again for providing this hidden gem of sorts to the local area and for remaining open during the pandemic. This helped my muscles to be patient for the remainder of time it took to complete our bathroom.

Good beer but service was terrible. Lady behind the bar could care less if we were there. Seemed she was too busy to help us even though they weren't busy. Hotel was dirty and unkept too. Won't be back.

The experience we had at Freeport Wine Country Inn did not look anything like the photos and reviews online. Please see the attached photos to see what the hotel and room actually looks like in May 2024 - there was a missing headboard with holes in the wall, broken tiles, rust on a shower curtain track hanging from the ceiling in the bedroom, a broken HVAC unit and a portable AC unit in the first floor window secured with duct tape. I woke up every time the portable AC turned on. There was scaffolding all around the hotel, which hopefully means there will be a new paint job soon. We did not see one other person from check-in to check-out, but a lady we spoke with over the phone was very helpful and allowed us to check in early. Based on the other photos online, we hope this place can be restored. For now, though, see our photos for what you actually experience.

I recently stayed for three weeks at the Freeport Inn. I had extensive home repairs and needed to be out of my place. I live in Sacramento so I was close to home which worked great for me. It's a great getaway for locals. The tranquil, peaceful surroundings and comfortable. accommodations are just what I needed to relax and get a good nights sleep. It was a home away from home. I felt very welcome and safe. The owners and staff made me feel right at home. Now I have a place to recommend to my out of town visitors and for me to enjoy a getaway. I highly recommend this gem.

Thank you Freeport Inn for hosting my family and I for our wedding ceremony dinner. This place is a hidden gem. Everyone loved their food and the quaint environment. The owner Marnie was easy to communicate with and even put out some of her own personal wedding decorations for us which was very thoughtful. I'd highly recommend this husband and wife owned hotel and restaurant to anyone!
