The service and hospitality were incredible for a restaurant being so new. Everything was clean, pristine, and well-maintained. Their staff was attentive and friendly; 10/10 would return with my family

My husband and I visited during lunch on Thursday. We found parking to be very limited, so we had to park along the street. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a very strong smell of fish, which we later discovered was due to the special of the week: fish tacos. We requested a table outside, as many other customers seemed to prefer the fresh air, likely due to the strong odor inside. We both ordered mimosas, which were good; it's hard to go wrong with juice and champagne. For our main courses, we chose the steak and eggs and the American breakfast. Overall, the food was just okay and didn't wow us. The pancake included in the American breakfast was particularly bland and lacked flavor. The highlight of the meal was the sourdough bread served on the side, which was very fluffy and light. However, our waitress seemed to forget about us towards the end of our meal. We requested the check and ended up waiting another 20 minutes. Eventually, we decided to go up to the register to pay our bill. In summary, the food was mediocre, and the service was lackluster.

I was in the area and decided to come here because of the good reviews. When I first walked in I saw that it was a nice cozy restaurant with what seemed like a lot of regulars. The staff was friendly and inviting and they greeted and talked to everyone like they knew them on a personal level. I sat at the bar and my order was taken within minutes.Eggs Benedict is usually my go-to for breakfast/brunch, and I got salad and fruit this time to keep it light. Unfortunately there wasn't anything about it that stood out to me. My yolk wasn't runny, which I love with my poached eggs, and my salad didn't have much variety with just tomatoes. My fruit seemed like it had been sitting out for an hour too. Overall the meal did the job, but not enough for me to justify a 5-star rating.I'm not usually in the Lodi area so probably won't be coming back here. However, this place definitely does the customer service part right and I'd recommend giving it a try.

Service was good. We sat at the bar and the bartender was extremity kind and hospitable. He was a younger gentleman and tbh the main reason this place gets 3/5 stars. The food was not good. It's subpar at best maybe mediocre. The ribeye steak was extremely tough and difficult to chew. The French toast was just okay. The food is aesthetic looking but the taste pales in comparison. They need to work on the execution and flavor of the food. Won't return anytime soon. Better options other places.

Breakfast Review: First Toast - Downtown LodiIf you're in the mood for a delightful breakfast in Downtown Lodi, First Toast is a must-try. From the moment you walk in, the cozy atmosphere makes it clear that this place is all about comfort and quality.I had the French Toast, and it was absolutely divine. The bread was perfectly toasted, with a rich depth of flavor enhanced by a luxurious vanilla butter that melted into every bite. The hint of sweetness was just right--not overwhelming, but enough to make each forkful feel like a treat. On the side, I paired it with apple chicken sausage, which was the perfect balance of savory and slightly sweet--absolutely delicious. My husband went for the "First Meat" omelette, and it didn't disappoint. Packed with rich Gruyère cheese, crispy bacon, savory sausage, and tender prime rib, the flavors blended together in a harmonious way that left him raving. The quality of the ingredients really stood out, and each bite was a flavor explosion. What's even better is the location. First Toast fits right into the vibrant downtown scene, complementing its neighbors like Papapavlos and the charming First Trail Coffee shop. Whether you're looking for a hearty breakfast or a cozy spot to relax, this place is a perfect addition to the local food scene. Highly recommend!

We came in to try this new restaurant in the Papavolo's Plaza right next to Papavolo's! It has the same footprint of Papavolo's from the counter to the restrooms. We sat at the bar counter and the two servers that were behind the bar were friendly and on top of making sure we were well taken care of. We ordered the Veggie Omelette and Chilaquiles. They were both excellent and good portions. The Chilaquiles had the right amount of spice and flavorful! One of the customers sitting next to me ordered the Chicken fried steak and it was huge. It went from end to end on the plate. We took fresh blueberry muffins made fresh in house and they had blueberry pie that was made in house so there is a selection of fresh baked in house desserts! If you're looking for good portions and friendly service with a diverse menu this is the place to try.

Amazing food! Hawaiian hint to gourmet breakfast food. Service with a smile. A little expensive, but well worth the price- dishes are all $17-20. Lemon Ricotta Pancake- house made whipped cream with crunchy candied lemon peel. Amazing texture and taste, small crisp to the side of the pancake. Could compete with the best of Chicago, Southern California. 7/5 Skillet Hash- cubes of fried potatoes with onion and bell pepper on small cast iron with cut up prime rib comes with cilantro sauce and egg 5/5Eggs Benedict- creamy with thin slices of fried bacon ham on egg muffin with perfectly poached eggs. Love the salad. Hash browns or roasted potatoes side 5/5 Hot chocolate- Mexican cinnamon house whipped cream 5/5Hot coffee- from next doors coffee shop bright fresh roastery coffee trail roasters Refills. However servers very busy to refill. 5/5

First Toast in Lodi is a super cute spot ! Came on a Saturday morning and it was pretty crowded. I had the chilaquiles with steak on the side. It is more of an Americanized take on traditional chilaquiles as you can see from the pic, but still pretty tasty ! My friend ordered a mimosa taster and it came super cute (did not try though ) definitely will be coming back to try the other breakfast items! Our waiter was attentive and they have plenty of options !
