Avoid this basketball team if you have a girl!! It's listed "COED" But in fact is primarily ALL BOYS my 10yr daughter was horrified to see she was only girl in league and nor did owner notify me this would be the case nor did boys on her team want to pass her the ball from her team, we did 2 games 1 practice each of those was a struggle her crying not wanting to go me forcing her because I already spent $350, finally I accepted she tried and still uncomfortable so I reached out to owner explaining all this and he responds with form policy "0" REFUNDS, very inconsiderate to the situation at hand, plus practices for 10yr old 6-7pm wed and games Sunday 7-8pm these are school nights and way to late especially 7-8pm.

The experience of Encore basketball league was horrendous which makes one ponder about its relation to the training that occurs. First of all, the organization's supposed COED encouragement is scarcely displayed as many coaches would rarely let girls play during the games, mainly leaving them on the bench and only substituting them in to offer temporary appeasement to parents or should I say encore's customers. Although, apparently an exception can be made suddenly when the girls are the coach's daughters, prioritizing their playtime with obvious bias. The league's claim of "all skill levels welcome" is a deceiving fabrication as during training, children who couldn't keep up with others were left behind with little support from the coaches and founder. Such disparities based on skill level would be also reflected into real game opportunities. This leads on to the awful coaching core of the organization. Due to the unbalanced playtime coaches implemented into their lineups, some parents would notice and become upset that their children weren't given the same chances as other kids, which was initially promised by the league when signing up. One angry parent would confront a coach and passionately demand for why his son was getting a lot less playtime than others on the team. The coach came up with the mature decision to punch the dad in the face and knocking him out in front of his family, children playing basketball, and other families who had attended the game. With the inability to discuss matters in a mature manner, encore staff decides to commit assault and battery in public to settle disputes. "Qualified instructors". Talk about professionalism! Would completely not recommend Encore league or training as it is an organization that doesn't offer beneficial and diverse experiences for your children.

Whether your child is a beginner, intermediate or advanced basketball player, Encore Basketball Training is where you want your aspiring hooper to be. Here they will learn the basic fundamentals of basketball and improve their footwork, shooting techniques, dribbling, ball handling & passing, etc. Roburt Sallie, is the owner and trainer who has first hand experience playing from the ranks of AAU, high school, D1 college, and professionally overseas. He has a keen eye for identifying strengths and weaknesses in a player, and using that to help develop them into a stronger, more confident person/player, on and off the court. I've seen him take a player with no experience to making their 6th grade basketball team. Another player that could barely make a 3 point shot if it could save his life, to scoring the most 3 in his division. Another player that was struggling in school and not qualified to play, to now getting a 3.0 GPA and leading the team and on his way to college. With Roburt Sallie, it's more than just training. He is extremely passionate and very much invested into each and every one of the kids he trains. His skills clinics and camps are giving what our community and youth need. A place to perfect your passion, while also keeping you safe and active. He typically has a skills clinic 2-3x a week split off into grades 1-5 and grades 6-12. $30 per 90 minute session. The first 60 minutes are usually skills training and the final 30 minutes playing in a tournament format. The camps are typically held during summer/winter. Always very well executed from the specialized training, games, special guests, etc. The facility itself is large and well maintained. Two full size courts and plenty of equipment. Roburt offers private, semi-private, group and team trainings. I personally have a 4 year old that has been with him for the last year. He is a bit on the younger side and can't necessarily shoot the ball into a standard height hoop, but he loves basketball! That being said, we want expose him to it as much as possible. In the last year he has gone from barely being able to dribble, to dribbling up and down the court with one hand, footwork, and basketball drills. While he doesn't play during the tournament style games at the end, he's able to keep up during the group trainings with the older kids that are grades 1-5. I can only imagine as he continues to train, the level he will be at once he actually gets to their age!

Encore Basketball Training is definitely the first step you want to take towards developing the necessary basketball fundamentals for your child! If you truly want to invest in your child's basketball career whether it's towards a school team, as an extracurricular activity, or eventually wanting them to go further such as the collegiate level, then this is where they need to be. My son has been into basketball for the last two years and we only did the little basketball training with CSD (I don't recommend). The fundamentals taught here are things you can't teach unless you have long term basketball experience, which Roburt Sallie has. Sure, watching basketball on tv or going to basketball games are ways to pick up moves but actually performing those are another story. Skills such as learning to dribble the ball while looking up seemed to be something many of my son's teammates struggled with when he was in CYBL. But my boy already learned that thanks to Roburt! There are two sessions: Friday's & Sunday's Each session is split into two groups:First group - grades 1-6 Second group - grades 7-12 Each group runs for two hours, typically the first hour is full of multiple drills then the last hour is scrimmaging. $30 per session or $50 for Friday & Sunday combined. I recommend doing both sessions to maintain that consistency for your child. This is where you'll see the most improvement!

The program is good however game play time is not so great. Starters get more play time than the bench. The bench only averages 4-5 minute playtime not fair to the entire team it should be equal for game playtime. They need to improve on this to make a fair environment.

5 stars for coach Robert Sallie and his staff. Great coaching and training from the owner and team. Where they drop off is the volunteer coaches. Had too many games where 6 kids sat on the bench where they only received 2 minutes each of play time. The starters were struggling to make it up and down the court because of fatigue. Lots of bias for his own child who played the majority of the time. League needs staff coaches where development and team play is top of mind.

Encore basketball training is the best basketball skills trainer in the ElkGrove area. We have tried a majority of trainers in the area and found a home at Encore Basketball. The trainers use their wealth of knowledge to help my little guy improve. He went from a bench player to starting on his rec league and AAU team. If you are looking for someone to take your kids through all phases of basketball development train at Encore.

Roburt is a great basketball trainer. He really cares for the kids and the community. He is a former pro basketball player and his experience helps him give great exercises for children and teens to practice. I've personally seen some of the children he coached grow from being unable to shoot a shot to making layups confidently. He is very personable and is great for kids who are just starting to learn the game and those who want to take it to the next level.

Hard core basketball training from a true professional. Don't hesitate to choose Coach Sallie. I paid for a 10 class session with CSD and left midway because my son lost interest. With Coach Sallie, he's thriving and best of all having a blast while learning the fundamentals. He's 7 and is new to basketball so I was worried he couldn't keep up with the older kids, but Coach Sallie has been extremely accommodating by modifying the drills to fit his skill level. His energy and passion for helping the kids really shines.

We just signed our daughter up for the summer league. My son has always played in other leagues however we are very fortunate to have found Encore Basketball. Coach Rob is hands on with practices and games. So far we have had one practice and our first game today. It's very organized and structured, our daughter seems to feel comfortable and learning new skills. We are looking forward to continuing with additional seasons.
