Captain Don and mate Tristan are the absolute best!!! They have impeccable patience and so much to teach. My 14 year old son Connor and I, had the best fishing experience ever. Tristan took my kid under his wing and showed him how to fish for salmon the right way. Although my son and I had never been on a party boat, they made sure we were always setup correctly and that our bate was constantly being tended to. They really go the extra mile to ensure the fishing experience is positive and fun. It's never a guarantee that you will catch anything but we were blessed to have such a good Captain and awesome deck hand to help us along with our 5 salmon day (2 for Connor and 3 for me).Thank you both for giving us such a positive experience the day after my dad passed away!Bless you both and I am literally looking for a date next week to book again for the both of us.Ron

I had an amazing trip on the C-Gull. Capt Don is legit. He had us on halibut all day. He also made sure gear was operational and our technique was on point. Deck Hand Tristan worked hard the entire day netting fish and keeping the bait buckets full. I recommend a Half Day on the C-gull. 6 hours of non-stop action.

I've been out twice with the Sundance to catch salmon outside the bay. The boat leaves at 5:30 sharp and stays out until the limit of 2*6 was caught each time. The first time we were out 10 hours, the second about 5. The boat takes six fishermen and a crew of two. Captain CJ knows his stuff. Took us through 10ft swells outside the gate (the potato patch they call it) with the boat pitching nearly 90 degrees. Quite the ride on a rough day. All gear and bait are included and two 2lb sinkers. The sinkers drop when you hook the fish, and cost $7 each when you need more So I used 8 and paid $42 extra for six. No problem, but something to be prepared for. The mate and captain keep the rods baited and the boat trolling. Everyone gets great action. One guy pulled in a 24 lb salmon. Last trip I caught three keepers and two small ones we tossed back. Guys also caught five good sized mackerels also, which weren't counted as part of the 12 limit, so we wound up with three each. Everyone gets to pick their best two if they're over the limit and unlucky guys split the rest. The mate will fillet anything and you can keep any of it you want. Get a one-day fishing license for $17 at a bait shop before you go. $250 for the day. Parking passes inside at the business at the end of the road, the Sundance is on the second dock from the end. A great way to spend a day. Call months in advance - they book up fast. There's catch counts on the web page so you can see all the boats and how they're doing.

This was my first time salmon fishing and it was so well worth the fee. A buddy of mine has been out with these guys several times over the years and he organized a group of ten of us to go fishing and we had a ball, truly the experience of a lifetime for us newbies. On our day, we didn't limit, but I can sincerely tell you, Captain Don and his deckhand Tristen weren't faint of heart in pursuing the fish. The other boats didn't limit either so it was just a crummy day overall. However, the weather was great and chugging all the way down from Emeryville to just outside Half Moon Bay was a trek, 2 1/2 hours each way, but the awesome views and pleasant temperature made every minute out there so enjoyable.I wholesomely endorse this outfit and in fact, 10 out of 10 of us are already making plans to go next season. So much so, we have a lot of other friends so enthused that we just might have to charter the whole boat just for us.

I've done probably 10 charters with this company. I booked a charter for 3 on Jun 18. It was canceled because of inclement weather. My review isn't for the staff on the boat. They are awesome and work hard. The review is for the office staff. When I called to ask why we were canceled the lady on the phone was rude. She hung up on me when I asked for a refund because we can't rebook as we all work and had to request time off to go. I wasn't rude and just wanted to know why it was canceled and how to get a refund.

My first time using the new online registration & it worked great. Fished aboard C Gull II, with Capt Don & Deckhand Tristan working non stop to get us fish. Sunny but what rough seas! My 2 fish Salmon limit was hard earned. Rx: take 1 Bonine nite before & 1 hour before depart. Watch your rod closely & "check your bait" every 20 mins. Fishing for Salmon outside the Golden Gate is not for the faint of heart, or er stomach. You have been warned! Now go Catch Em with Capt Don aboard C-Gull II.The Wharfrat

My friend and I had a great experience on the Pacific Pearl for some morning halibut fishing. Smooth waters and casual fishing in the bay and the deck hands were very helpful with untangling lines and setting up baits. The captain also spent more time on the water to improve everyone's chance of getting some Halibut to take home which was very nice. At the end of the day, everyone got some Halibut meat to take home which was nice and it was in general a very pleasant trip. Would definitely go back on the Pacific Pearl for some fishing.

My friends that have become family and I booked a trip with captain Don for Memorial Day. We paid just over a $100 each for the trip which included a half day trip, equipment rental, live bait, and a parking pass. Don was engaging, entertaining, and helpful. We were in search of halibut and striped bass in the San Francisco bay. We had a wonderful time. Four of our party of six caught keepers. The deckhands are happy to fillet your fish for tips. Don't forget to tip the crew for their hard work. I'm allergic to fish and shellfish but love fishing nonetheless. The crew was happy to bait my rod whenever a friend was unable to. I really appreciated that. Overall it was a wonderful trip and I'm already looking forward to our next one. Hopefully everyone will get lucky next time!

Went on a crab only trip aboard the Pacific Pearl 1/15/2021. It was my first time booking a trip out of Emeryville Sports fishing. Booking the trip on the website was easy. It would be helpful if the website was updated with parking and check in procedures. The boat was clean and the crew friendly. It took a little work to get limits for everyone as the commercial crab season has started, but we were tied up before our expected time. I don't know a lot about the crew, but the worked quickly and efficiently to get things done. I'd consider going out on this boat again.
