This is a nice park so I will explain why I am giving it only 3 stars. We live 20 minutes from the park and my kids really wanted to go to the Bike Park so we had my daughter call to see if it was open. They said it was so we loaded up the kids and the bikes to go. We get there and there are probably 15-20 people (Kids, Teens, and Adults) using the track. However the gate is locked and the sign still says closed. However we see other parents helping their kids over the fence. So I am thinking they must have just forgot to unlock the fence. My kids ride for about 15 minutes or so and then a park ranger/park employee comes by in their truck and over the loud speaker says, "Everyone needs to exit the Bike Park, it is closed and you are trespassing". Once the ranger got out of their truck and had told multiple people to leave I explained to her how we had just called the park office an hour ago and were told it was open to which she snarkily replied, "Well, the gate is locked so clearly it is not open." I replied and said, "I am just letting you know of the miscommunication because we called and they said it was open so that is why there is some confusion." She rudely replies with attitude, "Well the sign is still up that says closed and the gate is locked so it shouldn't be that confusing". Frustrated with her response I walk away with my family towards our van but I walked back because I wanted to express my frustration with her rude responses. So I say to her (as she barely acknowledges my presence), "As a member of the community who was trying to share some miscommunication about the parks it would have been considerate to respond, "Thanks for letting me know this I will make sure to reach out to our office to let them know..." She cuts me off and snarkily says, "I was gonna let them know" as she starts to walk away. So I said "that would have been nice to say and sorry for any miscommunication or misunderstanding instead of replying like an Ahole." and then I walked away because she clearly she wasn't going to listen anyway. There are plenty of places and organizations where there is miscommunication and things don't get done, so I just assumed someone forgot to unlock the gate. Just a little bit of courtesy and understanding from the ranger/park employee would have been appreciated.

I primarily visited the Elk Grove Regional Park for the 2025 Lunar New Year Festival. What I liked about this park was that it was very spacious and inviting. A lot of free parking spaces were available. I observed a herd of geese and ducks floating around the pond areas. The water fountain was a nice touch. The park was great for visiting both the festival and taking a calm, peaceful stroll to enjoy nature in general.

Big park with lot's of parking and a mix dog park. The dog park is big, clean, lots of benches and tables. Trees for shades. Trash cans at every corner and water fountain for dogs. It's next to the freeway so not a quiet place. Make sure your dog is comfortable with all size of dogs because it's not separated for small dog and big dogs. Of course watch your dog at all times for their safety. I came on a Monday late afternoon so it was empty.

I went on a weekday and it was not crowded at all. We took a walk around the water and saw many geese and ducks, as well as several squirrels. We met several nice people along the way.way. It was a pleasant day. My only issue was excessive goose droppings on the walk way, which is expected when geese are present.

The park is a great place to hold many different events. My dogs love the dog park because all size dogs get to share the area off leash and most pet owners take responsibility of their dogs. But the park has several baseball/softball fields, a pool, several different size picnic areas so if you just need a small or enlarge space they have you covered. The areas need to be rented but the fees are very reasonable for size of the area.I held a Celebration of Life there for my late husband it was a great way to celebrate him and nice to spend the day in such a beautiful park that he really loved. Our church uses it every memorial day to hold a huge picnic there.

This park is so huge. It's one of the busier parks in the area. It has a lake, baseball fields, parks, bathrooms, and enough room for plenty of gatherings and activities. We recently went this past Sunday to celebrate a friend. We had BBQ, music, games and a great time. There are a few entrances to get in the park. Thankfully we were able to find where they were setup. They put colorful balloons on a truck. The parking wasn't that bad since it was early afternoon. It was hot so I'm glad we were by plenty of shade from the trees. The only bad thing is the bathroom. It was dark because there were no lights and it was pretty dirty. I'm not sure how often they clean it.

We love Elk Grove park, we take our daughter there to run around, and we take our dog to the dog park all the time. We come to Elk Grove park for many events at Easter and Christmas too. Always fun to do!

We always drive by this park on the highway and finally got to go. We wanted to take advantage of a nice spring Saturday and get outside with the dog. This park offers so much parking, nice bathrooms, sports fields, a dog park, and a bmx park! We started at the dog park to overload the dog with smells to get the zoomies out then we started in on our walk. The paths are so well maintained and there's so much to choose from, we walked over a mile and didn't even see everything! The ponds are nice and the resident ducks and geese were very nice, as usually I find the presence of geese troubling - there were no issues with these geese. We saw people playing disc golf and little league games. We even got a sneak peak at the high school track meet. This park is a gem!
