This is a nice path for walking, bike riding, jogging, etc. there are signs along the path about the trail and the animals around. There is a short trail and a longer trial. For the longer path, you would cross the street. The short path is less than a mile (about 2/3 of a mile). There's a view of the creek and a few buildings. I saw a few herons on the trial and ducks. The trail begins by Peet's Coffee/Leatherby's.

Elk Grove Creek Trail is 8.6 miles in total length . It is divided into two sections. The Northern Section starts in South Sacramento at Franklin Blvd/Calvin Road. The trail continues South East down through North Laguna Creek Park on Center Parkway and eventually ends at Jacinto Creek Park. The "Southern Section" starts from Emerald Vista Drive. From there a walking bridge will take you over Highway 99 onto the trail. This section follows the creek behind neighborhoods and commercial businesses . There are a few picnic tables along the trail. The trail also takes you through two city parks(Oneto Park and Zimbelman Park) where you can rest a bit before continuing on your journey. Both trails are asphalt/cement paths and have educational material all along the scenic trail. Between Laguna Blvd and Oneto Park the trail runs on both sides of the creek. Walking or biking is recommended. Some parts of the trail are a little rough for skating .

Nice running trail! Visiting from SF and needed a place to run without having to worry about traffic or stop lights. Found this trail via the very helpful Yelp review (which is more up to date than the Elk Grove City Parks page). We had a hard time finding the trailhead and there are lots of entry points but I would recommend the one near Emerald Vista Drive and Brodie Ct (near the CVS). We found street parking easily (parking in EG is not an issue like in major cities) and followed the trail toward Laguna Springs Drive. We ran about 2 miles out and turned back for 4 miles total. Nice and flat with a small hill over the freeway. Nice trees along the path as well as some picnic tables and benches. We saw a handful of other runners and walkers and the trail felt safe and well maintained. Would recommend!

I felt closed in. The street and neighborhood and cars on one side of me, and a wall of trees on the other side. Because of the wall of trees right by the paved trail, you can look at the wildlife area only when there's a break in the trees. Probably good for the animals though, and that is important too. If I lived near it, I would probably use the Trail more. I probably won't drive from my neck of the woods to go there though.

For all the ducks, very little poop! Quiet, safe trail that goes around for a bit(complete with map). Definitely a place for an evening walk. :)
