Lovely neighborhood park in Westlake. Lots of lawn area to play volleyball, soccer or just run around. It's facing a lake and has many trees to provide shade. A few picnic tables & bbq pits too. A nice walking path runs through the park area.I noticed a previous review stating there was not a playground. This is true however this is a park- all parks don't require playgrounds to have fun.

Egret Park is one of the neighborhood parks in the Westlake part of Natomas. This park is operated by the City of Sacramento, but is surrounded by the private neighborhoods. Access is open to everyone, but there is no parking lot.Although I have yet to see any Egrets here, I often see people walking their dogs and husbands on a regular basis. This park is really more of a long green space without much actual park amenities. There is a nice community rose garden with a few picnic tables next to the lake which is nice. Someone put in a volleyball net too, and there is a large field near Westlake Parkway that is often used for casual soccer and baseball games. The main attraction is the long and winding walking path. It meanders through the grass and young trees with a view into the open backyards of the neighborhood. Round trip is about a mile which is perfect for most. The back end now connects to the new school and open hay fields. The city also has water and waste bins for the pets to help keep things clean.Although it lacks most of the true park amenities, Egret Park is a nice and relaxing place to get your steps or hang out. Nothing special, but it is special to those in the area.
