Walked in with my Pops for lunch. Walked out grinnin'. Ede's IS good, plain and simple. Did not do my usual bathroom check so I can't really say they have one. The restaurant itself was clean and maintained. I noticed a patio outside but we chose to sit in and peruse the menu while we ate. Bebidas(Drinks):Negra Modelo on tap is like winning the lottery, well close anyway. Bohemia IS like winning the lottery! Any Mexican joint that serves Bohemia is already ahead in the game as far as I am concerned. Sadly, many do not so Negra is more common. But I win on this day :)Comida(Food):Chips, Salsa, Frijoles(Beans): Chips are hot, fresh and crispy. Thin style similar to Chevy's. Salsa had great flavor but needed more heat for my dad and me. Understandable considering the demographic of Ripon however. Holy Frijoles! Beans are critical to any self respecting Mexican establishment. Unfortunately, Lard is a bit of a pariah in this day (of yoga) and age (of No GMOs). Mexican cuisine is NOT diet/health food by nature so you're kidding yourself if you think a few grams of lard is gonna be the straw that broke your burro's back. Relax, that's what Diet Coke is for right? Lay off the chips or save up your daily points/calories and treat yourself. We only go around once after all. Besides, you can't get any better on the flavor/texture scale than lard. If the beans are runny, that's oil. If the beans are like wet cement, that's just gross. Most places don't do it right, Ede's does. Tacos, Tacos, y Mas Tacos: Between my Dad, Me and My Mom's To-Go Order, I think we got em all. I ordered the small Taco Truck Tacos and Dad got the Regulars (American size). Regulars have extra ingredients like lettuce and onions. And of course, they are larger. I got those sweet little numbers you get off a legit Mexicano Truck. No Fuss, No Muss. As they had Lengua, Pastor, and Chorizo, I felt it necessary to do my part for mankind and get all three. They also had the more common Asado (Beef), Pollo (Chicken), and Carnitas (Pork)Lengua: Perfect flavor and Tenderness simply dressed on a fine corn tortilla. Flavors complemented each other while keeping the Lengua in the spotlight. Pastor: Pastor, for those who don't know, is marinated pork that is vertically spit-roasted like shawarma or gyro meat. Not sure if this particular piggy was cooked in such a manner, but it was tasty nonetheless. Again, simply dressed on the same little corn tortilla.Chorizo: Mexican Chorizo is a childhood favorite of mine and in this case, and really hit the spot.. Pan Fried to a point where it was crispy but moist. Chorizo quickly turns to carbon if you orvercook it and you are left with a pile of acrid tasting charcoal. Not good. Ede's simple yet well balanced Chorizo Taco is dressed like the previous two on the same corn tortilla and fired on all cylinders.Dad ordered Lengua Tostada and a couple Tacos like mine. The tostada looked like a tostada and my Dad looked like a happy man.We asked our server, Yavida (sorry if I got that wrong), who was very gracious and friendly. I would not hesitate to go back to Ede's even though there are two more Mexican joints yards away.

I've always enjoyed eating at new places, especially when it comes to tacos. When I entered the establishment, I was greeted right away, but with very little excitement. Not as the second customer that came in after me. Of course, it was his bday and he seemed to be family. Here is the thing. If we all learn to treat everyone with the same energy, it makes everything worth going there. Secondly, it could be someone else's birthday, but no way to know that right? That's why treating everyone with a good level of energy, and a smile makes everyone feel welcome. And yes it was my bday also. The place is very near and clean. They had good music, and it was nice. The waitress took my order, and that's where I was a little shocked. She was polite, but I ordered four tacos, and a Pepsi in a can. Nothing was really offered and I saw they had fountain drinks after. So, four tacos. Small tortillas, asada, and one Pepsi in a can. $17.00 plus dollars. Wow! I get the inflation times we are in. I know that the prices for meat, have gone up. I know that the overhead cost may have gone up also, but four small tacos with a Pepsi can should not be $17.00. That's as much as a carne asada plate. That's at least 5 to 6 ounces of steak, a spoon or two of rice, it often comes with beans, a small side of veggies like lettuce, tomatoes, onions, avocado, and more often than not, sour cream. How does 8 small tortillas, with a small portion of carne asada, and green salsa compare to that in cost? Not even in labor. How can families of four or six fit in pictures such as these if they live paycheck to paycheck? How did the tacos taste? I've had better for a third of the cost, at a restaurant (current time), but they are not bad. Cut the oil back that drips out of them as you eat them, and it would be a bit better. Take some of the fat out and replace it with meat, and it will be a better quality taco. The price, I know it is only my personal opinion, but the math does not math-up. This seems to happen more often now because people have become slightly careless, and greed is everywhere in today's world. The last statement is not directed to this restaurant at all, but it is in relation with the food industry everywhere in our present day. Do I recommend them? Yes, of course. I am only grading one dish. Not the entire menu.

Ordered 2 small bean and cheese burritos to the tune of $14.74, at any other respectable Mexican restaurant, it only cost about $9.00. I was told to go there it's the best in town. Well the food was ok but gave me diarrhea and a stomach ache right after eating them. It's too expensive for me to return.

Discriminatory against service dog handlers. Even with service dog welcome signs everywhere they refused service even after answering legal questions. Told us we could sit outside with my service dog and eat THIS ONE TIME. Owner tried to invalidate everything I said. Again, my dog is a MEDICAL ALERT service dog SHE IS TASK TRAINED. If you are a handler avoid at all costs.

Came here to try there taco Tuesday and it wasn't really all that great. I didn't like it was only Carne asada tacos that were $1 and any other meat was $3. Plus if you paid with your debit card there was a 3.99 fee which seems a little excessive.
