Eastern Oak Park

Awesome park! Renovated about 2 years ago and always occupied with friendly faces. Of course, COVID affected some amenities like the playground, recreational soccer, and half court basketball, but pickleball and the dog park are still going strong. There are functional, and usually clean, bathrooms and water fountains. There are gates to separate areas for big and small dogs. There's plenty of benches along with donated plastic chairs to find better shade. Our kids especially love running and racing their scooters around the sidewalk perimeter. That said, apologies to any walkers who might have been startled. No incidents to date, because like I said, we've only been met with kindness and support. It's a great community and we've even built bonds with surrounding neighbors who also frequent here.

Eastern Oak Park is a favorite in my family. It is fenced in on three sides and tucked safely back from the main road (Eastern Ave.) Tennis courts, play structures, a giant sand box, and horse shoes & shuffle board areas are all available. There are also a few picnic tables and lots of grass for dogs and people alike to get their run on! Surrounding the open grassy area is a concrete path for walking/jogging and there are benches sprinkled throughout if you just want to chill and enjoy the day. The only reason I am only giving the park four stars is because it is currently under renovation. I am anticipating five stars in a future updated review.

This park has 6 dedicated pickleball courts with the nicest players! Check out playtimescheduler.com, but play most days is from 8:00am-12:00pm in the winter and 7:00am-12:00pm in summer.

When I heard about the remodel I was super excited as it's right around the corner from my daughter's school and I loved coming here to do laps and then let me little ones play... unfortunately now there is not much for my 2 & 3 year old to do ... the slides all have to be reached by climbing and there is NO shade in the area at all!! I have come a few times now trying to give it a chance but my kids are always ready to leave after 10 minutes. We won't be back until shades & a toddler play structure are installed. Huge bummer!

Great play and friendly & welcoming players. Would definitely return here as the people were inclusive and fun.
