I recently embarked on a renovation project of an old classic sailboat. This required the services of numerous different vendors. If you have ever tried to take on a project like that, you will know what a hassle it can be. Most of the time, vendors won't even return your call. When you finally connect, it is like pulling teeth to get a decent proposal that clearly defines the scope of work. And then after all that, you are told they won't be able to get to your project for a few months. Once started, they never seem to hold to any schedule.Darius was a refreshing contradiction to that bohemian (or more plainly put, very unprofessional) mentality in the boating industry.He was prompt to return my calls, prepared a detail proposal, and he was very accommodating in working with me to prioritize scope and stage the project to fit my budget. He worked patiently with the other trades and was flexible in his schedule when other trades got in his way. When the scope turned out to be more than he anticipated, he did not ask for more compensation. Communications remained good throughout the project. And ultimately, the work quality was very good, he never once tried to cut corners, and all delivered at a fair price. Darius mentioned every year, he is booked months in advance to go to the east coast to do finish work for Hinkley Yachts. I hired Darius Dupey to do a complete detail of my 34' power boat and I could not be more impressed. He has a great attention to detail and really made the boat look better than the day we bought it.
