Boat launch and dock
Disgusting poop spill
Our campsite #5 was a pull-through.
You can sand on the bank and fish in the San Joaquin a river.
You guessed it, POOP!
Poop pool.
Beautiful sunset.
Playground area
The dark mud is the regular mud, the light color on top is all poop.
This is a typical back-in campsite.
We looked out over this field. Lots of squirrels were sitting up like meerkats.
Gorgeous weeping willow tree next to the river.
Little striper hittin too....had to toss him back tho'. #awkwardshaka

Sunset in Lathrop California

We've been coming to this park since 2018. It's a lovely quick get away not far from home. Campground Hosts are ALWAYA, kind, welcoming, accommodating and helpful. Just really nice people. However, through the years, the neglect of this park is starting to show dramatically. Roads are torn up, overgrown trees oftentimes scratch RVs and way too many stray cats. Our last two visits with friends were ruined due to faulty electrical equipment but worst of all sewage backup into the camp site. This is unacceptable but more importantly, pretty sure the health department would find this to be in several violations. We would be so disappointed to have to stop coming here but these issues are happening at different sites, not sure we want to be part of a crap shoot. SJ Parks department, please do better for your customers.UPDATE: Someone came and sprayed the area. All he accomplished was to spread the sewage leak to a bigger area of the campsite. EWWWWW

Easiest boat launch into the delta around here. Good for shore fishing too. I bring the kids and they have a blast. Nice park.

Simple parking, just not too big of a place. Parking is limited but it is not usually too busy. Easy access to water, pretty good views

We found ourselves in need of a place to stay in our RV after I made a boneheaded navigation error that ended up 2 hours away from the campground where we had reservations. I googled and found Dos Reis RV campground, which is operated by San Joaquin County Parks & Recreation. It is about an hour from the interstate, out in the country and along the San Joaquin River levee. They have about 24 spaces, three of which are pull-thru sites. All sites have full hookups. They also have bathrooms & showers, though we didn't use them. There are a couple recently-renovated horseshoe pits. These are super nice, roomy, level sites and they all have wood fire pits, grills and a picnic table covered by a pergola. It is so serene at this park, most of it is surrounded by farm fields. We saw bunnies, squirrels, a few feral cats and we heard coyotes at night. You can walk up stairs to the levee where there are day-use picnic tables along the river. There is also a boat launch and dock. You can fish off the bank or the dock if you don't have a boat. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the campground is. We called the SJPR office to pay for our site and the person on the phone was very friendly and helpful. The camp host came by to greet us, too. This is a great place for a stopover when traveling along I-5 near Lathrop and would be a nice destination campground for a little R&R. Only 25% of the sites were occupied during our two-night, mid week stay. Sites must be reserved in advance (we sent an email when we arrived because the office was open and called the next day to pay). You need to call the SJPR because we didn't see a way to book online, although there is an availability calendar online. RV camping costs $35/night.

This place is only for fishing or if you have a boat, I couldn't find any trail. Keep in mind that you have to pay 6 dollars (Only cash)There is not much to do by the river. I wouldn't come back not even for camping because this is not a very interesting place and it is dirty. Last but not least the bump in the exit is too high so I hit the bottom of my car twice.
