This is a beautiful paddle boat on the Sacramento River in Old Sacramento. We've been here before but this review is for the Thanksgiving dinner 2024.We knew the cost per person was $68 fir the buffet style dinner. Our reservations were for noon, we arrived at 11:45 and checked in. The host said we are first and they will call our names in a few minutes.40 minutes later, and 15 other groups went in first, she finally called our name. We were seated 45 minutes after our reservations and we were there first! THAT is terrible service. We were seated and it took 15 minutes for our waiter to arrive to take our drink orders. We finally were able to start eating at 1:10pm, which is more than an hour past our reservation time, which we were in the first seating. The buffet foil was not good. It was cold, and tasteless. The prime rib must have been the worse beef on earth, it have no seasoning and no flavor. The desserts sat out so long that they were dried out.our waiter, Max, was terrible. He was slow and only checked on us once. My iced tea ran out so I had to go get my own. When he brought our bills, they were wrong. He tried to charge us $50 for a "Banquet fee" that's wasn't shown on the invitation. We asked what this was, he said, ooops that's a mistake. There were 3 families in our group that he did this too. If we didn't look c closely at the bill, they would have made an extra $150.We had 1 young 6 year old that was with us, she didn't eat but they charged us $25 for her to sit there. WTF??On top of this they automatically added 20% tip. The receipt had another line that asked if we wanted to leave and added tip...I wrote "hech no" on that line. Our bill for 4 adults, with only 2 cocktails was $452.I highly recommend DO NOT GO HERE!! The food was terrible, the seating service was awful, the waiter Max needs training.Overall I am very very disappointed in this entire ordeal.

**Delta King - Murder Mystery**My wife and I, along with another couple decided to give this experience a shot. Finding fun things to do in Sacramento is something the four us enjoy doing.Let me start by saying that none of the staff were rude at any point, you can see that everyone is trying to make the experience worthwhile, so thank you. Each couple spent ~$325 on a couples anniversary dinner including appetizer (salad), entree (steak), dessert (donut holes) and a bottle of twist off champagne. No note was included as advertised, a basic cheap runner is used...I do not recommend upgrading to the VIP package. As you enter the ship, you find yourself asking multiple people where to go. A bit unorganized. There is no need to arrive early as there is no line to wait in. Pre-purchase your tickets and walk right on the ship.Once we found the dining area (lower level), you get hit with a strong and overwhelming scent of old, stale, stagnant and non-circulating air. It was not pleasant. One server seemed to be working the entire event, and the actors in the murder mystery assisted. It took long waits to get a refill, order a drink, ask for a napkin, clean fork, etc.Drinks are not included in the $325. No free refills either. Coffee, Soda, Juice = $4. Alcoholic drinks = $12-$20. So each couple paid another $95 on top of the ticket prices. The salad came out and it was clearly made days in advance and set in the fridge. The plate was freezing cold and the salad had little to no crunch. Just drowned in dressing. It's a basic bagged salad, no toppings of any substance. 1/5The steak arrived and it was as black and overcooked as Captain Blackbeard's old boots. Not to mention, it was the size of 4 steak bites found at your local grocer. Dry. Gray. Overcooked. Mashed potatoes were good. 1/5The dessert came out and it was a glass filled with 4 donut holes. The donuts holes were so old and disgusting. When you bit into one, wet water or juice exploded out of it. Not pleasant, old, cheap and downright unacceptable. 0/5As far as the Murder Mystery, it's pretty dumb. You can't keep up with the story. Lights never go out. Not to mention, they are so short handed, they ASK the guests to fill in for characters. They give you a binder and the guest is now working, while the table is eating or figuring out where to eat after this is over.I do believe this is very overpriced for the experience. The food is downright disrespectful when you think of what can be experienced for $400 a couple after drinks and gratuity....you can go to The Kitchen and experience Michelin level quality for this amount.Unfortunately, we will never be back. The experience in 2014 was 100x better than the one in 2024. I do not recommend the Murder Mystery dinner at all. It was laughable and embarrassing.Total Score : 1/5 - 1 only because of the staff, they tried.

Came for new years eve dinner. Fantastic service and delicious food. I loved that the waiter came by a few times to ensure the food was as we liked it. The prime rib the first time was medium and my buddy wanted it medium rare. They came back with a new plate exactly as ordered. We loved that the waiter was extremely kind and attentive. We also got both lava cake and cheese cake. I believe they were only ok. Its always fun to see the lava on the chocolate cake but that didn't happen. No biggie - still delicious. There was also a roaring 20s event on the boat where you could dance and play casino. Complimentary 500 monopoly bill to play tables and win raffles. Syper fun. Loved it! Will definitely be back next year of they hold another amazing event.

The ambience was pretty chill, but the server was mad slow. The Pan Seared Petrale Sole was very delicious, and the crab cakes were equally as flavorful. The shrimp cocktail was decent too. It's a nice place to enjoy good seafood on the water.

Checked in Sept. 18th.see receiptThere were pros and cons of staying here. LOCATION is prime because you are in walking distance to everything! The riverboat hotel is dated..rooms are very small and our bed was terrible. The water views from the room made up for lack of space. The bar on-site has indoor and outdoor seating and we enjoyed a cocktail after checking in.Things went SOUTH with our 5pm dinner reservations at their pilot house restaurant. We were the first ones there and had to wait over 50 minutes for a soda and a glass of wine while Cora our server waited on everyone else that showed up over 20 minutes later! Terrible service and bad attitude so we cancelled our dinner and went to a beautiful restaurant so our mini vacation wouldn't be ruined (btw..firehouse restaurant was spectacular!). The saving grace to our stay was an employee named KAREN...she was so kind and hospitable! She made sure to give my man extra pillows due to his disability..so sweet and thoughtful! SHE is an A+ employee!Jamal (valet) and Angel(check in) were also a delight and understand and embrace customer service. Coby ( supervisor) was helpful and tried to circumvent issues. Angie at the front desk was very rude and unfortunately not just to me. Overall I would stay again because the location is ideal as we could walk to the coffee shops and have tons of choices for dinner!

Here in a Saturday afternoon for a cocktail. Very very busy and only one bartender. But she did her best to keep up with the large crowd around the bar. She also had to wait the tables! Busy bar. I don't know if food is served in the bar area, but tables were set with tablecloths. So maybe you can order food. Good place for a drink and get some views to the river. It was raining on the day I was here, but the deck area outside was set up with tables which would be very nice way to spend an hour or two enjoying cocktails

We just had our wedding at the Delta King and I would absolutely recommend it as a venue for all types of events! We got to tour several of their rooms to pick the one that suited our guest count and budget best. Rachel guided us through everything from picking out what food we wanted at a tasting to choosing from a plethora of napkin colors. It's because of her that everything went so well and I couldn't thank her or her staff enough. The food (crab cakes, lumpia, sirloin and shrimp) was great and they brought out more fresh food once we finished the first tray. Our bartenders were also amazing and kept all of our guests in great spirits. Captain Jim also had a wonderful speech that we got to help craft alongside him, which meant a lot to us. Being able to accommodate a wheelchair for a family member was something that we emphasized was important to us and all of the staff was so sweet about it. They all helped make this event as stress-free as possible and if I had to do it all again, I would still pick the Delta King.

My company and I had the pleasure of hosting an event here recently. I cannot stress enough how happy I am with the entire experience. Working with Rachel to set up the event was a dream. She was so knowledgeable and friendly and went above and beyond to help me get our event dialed in. The food was incredible - fresh and delicious. The staff we had working our event (as well as others we encountered along the way) were wonderful. They accommodated any requests we might have had and had great personalities/attitudes. The room/tables were set up beautifully. I had been very stressed out planning our company's event and everyone at the Delta King made that fade away. I've gotten nothing but positive feedback from my team and I owe a lot of that to the Delta King. I can't wait to go back for dinner on my own and explore the boat some more!
