I would give this place a negative five stars if I could. They wasted my time, money and took no responsibility for their unprofessional conduct. I see there are a lot of people who have reported good experiences with this company, but that was not my experience. On August 20th, I emailed Kelvin at Delta Boat Works:"I am trying to schedule a date to bring my 42 Carver up for some repairs. Can you let me know if you have availability the first week of October, the last week of November or during December."Kelvin the manager responded:"That should be no problem, let me know a date and I will lock it into my schedule.Kelvin"I called him and spoke with Kelvin and explained I wanted an estimate on repairs and sent him an email with the list. I explained I was going away for a week and to contact me about the estimate so I could approve the repairs, and shared when I got back I need the boat as I am a live aboard. I called back in November to confirm bringing my boat up in November. No response. I had to call several times and was told it was "no problem". I navigated my boat from Pittsburg and took the day off of work to have enough time to review work I wanted done. I called ahead and they said they would meet me at the dock. It was a two hour navigation and I made good time. I arrived at 11:30A.M. and spent an hour speaking with Rick and going through the boat with him. Two things I specifically asked Rick to do was to connect the boat to shore power, since I had food in the fridge and make sure the boat was secure to keep vermin off the boat. He said "no problems and that he'd never seen any rats or racoons there before."I left for my trip and never heard back from anyone at Delta Boat Works. I attempted to call them and no response. I had a friend call them and he said they told them they would email me. Kelvin's response was that they couldn't get any estimates done because it was the holidays, but Rick would have one to me by the end of the day of Monday or Tuesday.Rick never did send me an estimate. I returned on the following Friday. When I got to my boat, it was a mess and in poor condition due to the storms that had been going on. I found the boat's aft cabin door had been left open. There was rat scat all over the aft deck. The boat was plugged in, but Rick never took the time to switch the boat over to shore power, so the food in the fridge had all gone bad. I emailed Kelvin and requested that Delta Boat Works compensate for the lost food and clean up the rat poop. I asked again for the estimate. I received no response from Kelvin, but a call back from Rick. He claimed that the crew told him that I had said the electricity was on in the boat when I left. It was a lie, because he was the last one I saw when I left. So, he took no responsibility. He also took no responsibility for the open door or the rats. I trapped and killed three of them on the boat before I got it out of there. I tried to salvage the appointment, but Rick brought up that the owner didn't want to work on a boat with someone who was a live aboard, at which point I said, "Forget it". I had explained the circumstances before I brought the boat up and was experiencing nothing but lame excuses and obviously no interest to work on my boat. So, I lost time and about $500 in fuel, food and traps.I would not recommend this place to anyone with a boat who values their investment. You may have a good experience, but you may not and who needs to waste time on a company that can't follow through? The good news is I am so glad they didn't start any work on my boat.

I was shocked to read the review from "skipper s" as I've been having work done at Delta Boat Works for the past 15 + years and have always been very satisfied. Wes and Karl are easy to deal with, are professional and very courteous. BTW, I don't have close to a million dollar boat, I own a 1991 30' Bayliner. There are two sides to every story.Dan B.

As a new customer for delta boat works, i was very happy with the professionalism and "as promised" repairs that were done on my chriscraft catalina 25 foot criuser. Kelvin was very knowledgeable and gave me several options on my repairs. everything was done on time and as promised. the boat performs flawlessly and has picked up approximately 10 miles per hour as promised. thank you for a job well done, I will definitely used them in the future for any repairs needed.

I was referred to a gentleman named Ernie from Delta Boat Works who came to look at my boat I had a problem putting the lower end on he claimed there was something wrong with the lower end and needed to have it taken apart and put back together for a spring. Three weeks went by without a phone call when I did finally talked to him he said that it was a spring and the guy had it apart and he was going to put it back together and I still had yet got no quote on how much it was going to cost. I told him this was unacceptable and to bring my lower and back the same way he took it. At that point he tells me it was all taken apart and it's shot and it needs to be replaced and it can't be fixed so I told him I wanted it back in the same condition I got it and he said that it couldn't be put back together. And then he said if I wanted it back together I would have to pay $100 for it being taken apart in a hundred for it being put back together doing all this without any notification to me. All this being said that was taken off of a 140 horsepower Mercury outboard which was a 1973 or excuse me as 1972 and very rare. I already put in $300 into the bottom and with a new impeller housing. I guess these people think I was born yesterday but now they have my lower end and I'm supposed to pay to get it back and put back together the same way it was when Ernie took it. I never received a phone call or quote. In 3 weeks I was the only one that made the phone call and he stated there's only a problem with it going into forward gear. At this point I have no choice but to file a lawsuit against them for stealing my lower end. This is very shaddy and I will not be ripped off!!! Do yourself a favor and do not do any business with these tyrants. They dont even deserve a 1 star! I will do a follow-up as soon as I find out more.

Talked to half dozen other boat yards about possibility of a DIY facility to find out most are closed. Plan B - find a boat yard to do a bottom job and several other projects on my 50 year old Coronado 27. While most kept saying that "yes they could do the work", none would or could come up with a date. Found Delta Boat Works by accident and stopped by to check them out. Not only were they very helpful, they were able to immediately give me a haul out date, only three weeks away. Just got the boat back today and was very happy with the results, everything was done as expected and at a reasonable rate. Rick and Jessica were very helpful, and followed up with progress reports and photos as the project progressed. Would I recommend them??? Definitly yes.

I used Detla Boat Works for the second time to have the bottom of the boat repainted and the zincs replaced. They did a great job, kept me posted on the progress of the project by sending pictures and delivered the boat back on time. The boat was spotless when I picked it up. Some boat yards tend to have a snotty attitude toward customers, these guys do not. I spoke with several people there in the course of the project and each of them was friendly and helpful.

This is the worst boat yard I have ever taken my boat to. I had alot of work done.I had five windows replaced. They gauged my wood when removing. When theyremoved the window they took some of my gel coat and never even fixed it. Thewindows were wrong and had the wrong tinting. They never, ever made it right. They lost my window bracket whichrequired two. They bought one and installed and left the other one on there, mismatched. The company that made these brackets is Now out of business.Their solution to fixing it was to ship me another bracket free. I hadto pay to have the other installed. I asked to see my boat after the bottom job was done, they didn't let me. When I got there they just put my boat right back in the water. They neverreturned my calls. Shotty and unprofesstional seems to be the theme at Delta Boat Works. I am not sure about the other review on here. It sounds contribedhonestly. Waltons Boat Repair is Rio Vista has done a great job for me the lastbottom job. I would go there for sure!!!

I had a very difficult to repair leaking large gas fuel tank that had to be replaced and it was in the center of the boat. The process was almost scary as it was well over a 100 step process and encompassed almost all aspects of boat repair. Engine was removed, fiberglass deck cut, bulkhead removed, stringers replaced. It wasn't cheep, but it was completed to perfection. I know exactly where the fiberglass deck was cut, and I can't see it at all. Oh and I got the boat back and everything work correctly the first time, read that again, that is really amazing and was a first for me. Base on my one time experience I would absolutely use them should the need arise. Oh and FYI, this was done at the end of the 2015 season, I did not want to write a review until I was sure things were done correct and would pass the test of time. So 2016 is in the bag, great job gentlemen, it has passed the test of time.
