You 100% must take a lesson from here. If you have never taken a lesson you should. You never know what you will learn. I had an amazing 4 days of instruction with Jason and Dom. They were very good at teaching the fundamentals and breaking it down to understand each movement on the river. I will definitely be taking ALOT more classes with current adventures! AMAZING!

I did Current Adventures' Accelerated Beginner Camp program last year, and had a truly amazing experience. My instructor, Jason, was incredibly patient and effective. I felt 100% safe with him at all times, and by the end of the 4 days, I was kayaking confidently in what felt like huge rapids. They even spent some time teaching us the sweep roll, which I managed to pull off a few times, though never in a rapid. Next time!I HIGHLY recommend this business. Dan and his team all clearly love what they do, and it shows. Thank you Jason, Dan, and the CA team!

My wife and I had a private lesson on inflatable kayaks with Dennis - it was fantastic. He had the right speed for us and helped customize the lesson for what we need to know for a few trips coming up this summer. Everyone at the shop was nice and we would definitely recommend going with Current Adventures or shopping at the River Store for your needs!

My neighbor and I took paddling and rescue lessons from Paul, who was great. Very conscientious and patient. He's a seasoned pro. Showed up early, spent a lot of time demonstrating various paddling techniques, self rescue and joint rescue. He showed us some great spots too. I highly recommend Current Adventures if you want to feel more confident about technique and safety.

OMG! I LOVE THESE GUYS! They yell at you, tell you what to do, make you laugh... and if you listen and are lucky you might get through San Juan Rapids!Ok, but in all seriousness... The lady I talked to on the phone was awesome and very informative, Dan was awesome and funny, Thanks Paul for holding our keys and wallets! AND the rest of the guys help you too (I just don't remember their names but they were all so awesome)... literally they will stay with you and help you down the river, even let you follow them down their 'line'. I felt safe. And I made it down the river! This was the training for Eppies. I did 2 halfs and 2 full courses and I feel that it was the perfect amount of practice runs and now I am sooooo ready for Eppies. I will be doing the iron person and kicking butt now!I totally recomend Current Adventures! Props to Dan, the lady on the phone, Paul, surfer kid, funny beard guy, hyper funny beard guy, quiet kid, and the 2 kick a$$ ladies that helped out on the last couple days.THANKS!!! Pink helmet chick!

Took my first ever kayaking class with Dan and Anna today, and can't say enough great things about the trip. Dan is a very knowledgeable guy and is super concerned about safety. They spent the first part of the class going over how to maneuver and turn the boat and properly use the paddle. Then we got into the water and did circles. Once we started our journey, Dan and Anna came up next to you and gave further instructions to better guide You. All in all it was a great lesson. Be sun prepared. Lots of sunscreen, big hats and even sun protective clothing. This was a great deal via Groupon.

Went out with Paul and John at Lake Natoma. First time kayaking for my wife and I. Had a great time. Instructors were fantastic, patient and very knowledgeable of the lake and surrounding area. I recommend this class to anyone interested in kayaking. By the way, it was a class for 50+ yrs. Not nearly as hard as you might think. Give them a try, you'll love it!Adrian S.

Did the Rogue River Whitewater Kayaking trip. We had a group with skills ranging from "40 years of canoeing class V" to "thought this was a rafting trip, what's an IK?". I'm an...intermediate?...hardshell kayaker, more by dint of enthusiasm than any actual skill. It was awesome. Awesome. First off, Kim and Dan, our kayak guides, were absolutely dialed in during the rapids. They were fun (especially Kim), helped us each constructively with personal feedback, trusted us to run the small (II) stuff as appropriate and circled up and talked us through the medium (III) and harder (IV) stuff. I personally made a point of testing their response times to mid-rapid flips a good 8-10 times, and I can report that they were within about 3-5 feet of me each and every time, ready to pounce for a rescue if I missed the next roll attempt. They also didn't over-help, which I appreciated as someone who really does try to roll up if at all possible and can be slightly confused once I do pop up. The one time I swam Kim was right there and extremely supportive and positive. Dan's feedback on my practice roll technique on Day 1 was clear and absolutely helped me avoid a few other swims. The food and company were both fantastic (as was the entire Oregon River Experiences raft support team), but that would only matter so much if the safety piece hadn't been there. It was. Oh yeah, we also saw a ton of wildlife and I don't think I've laughed that much or heard so many others laughing in many years. I'll remember the experience fondly for many years. Looking forward to my next trip.

I called about enrolling my 12 year old daughter in their RK1 class and the front office dropped the ball, never returning my call. That automatically got them a zero star rating so I went to the other guys. Well, the instruction my daughter got there was dismal so I paid Current Adventures a visit. In talking to the person in charge of kayak lessons, I found it difficult to take the person seriously as a professional with the flamboyant personal image style that accompanied the the lack of professional responsibility (unreturned phone call). We did end up enrolling our daughter in a private lesson. As far as the lesson went, Andy was excellent and I would give him 5 stars. Andy helped to rebuild my daughter's confidence that had been shattered by the previous instructor and encouraged her to go all the way to Greenwood (class II). I should have done the private lesson from the start and saved the $$$ and frustration (not to mention losing the few hairs I have left on my head) with the other guy.
