County Connection

10/8/2024 Got on the bus and bus driver or passenger on the bus smell like weed and it very strong. Occasionally the bus driver miss my stop due to lack of forgetting or hard of hearing. The rest of my time on the bus passenger been playing loud music or talking loudly on the bus or phone. When everybody on the bus peacefully been quite.

County Connection is much better than AC Transit. First, County Connection buses are much cleaner. Next, the bus drivers are friendlier. Also, the bus fare is cheaper than AC Transit. My experience with this bus company is nothing but positive.

Worst bus service I ever experienced in my life. For example, 12 miles with one transfer to another bus at a BART bus station = 1 hour 45 min by bus. Same ride by auto: 15 or less minutes.This bus company, calling itself County Connection uses over sized snails for buses, and will never, ever be awarded anything other then: Slowest service with the highest waiting time ever recorded.Most stops don't even have benches much less shelters - leaving many seniors and disabled sitting on curbs, that is if they can get up again by themselves. Low and fixed income riders without access to autos or cash for a Lyft or an Uber, are caught between a rock and a hard place when it comes to timely transportation for everyday shopping and medical appointments. Without a car in the East Bay Area you may as well move to a more disabled and senior courteous city. Remember, everything takes trifold energy for disabled and elderly. Isn't it time County Connection became a helpful service instead of a bad taste in one's mouth?

I'm here to get a replacement transit discount card. They will except cash. Although their documentation and website indicate they will also take personal checks. While my application has my home address (where they're going to be mailing the card of which I'm sure they have the ability to deactivate if full payment is not received) and my driver's license has the same address (plus others I could've supplied) ... they wouldn't take my check because it only had my name pre-printed on it (no address). If in fact a pre-printed address is the ultimate qualifier to except a personal check, it seems rather archaic and counterintuitive to me. If they're mailing something to that address and the driver's license has the same address ... one would logically presume that would be enough to confirm the correct address, right? Apparently not.P.S. The front desk assistant was very helpful, courteous and professional. Kudos to you.

This business used to be loving and personable. Ever since new management arrived in the costumer service department, it's went absolutely downhill. Horrible service and management.

If you live in Contra Costa County and don't have access to a car, you are in trouble. I've lived in many places around the United States and visited many different countries around the world, so I've rode on my fare share of buses. I thought that the bus lines in Nassau, Bahamas were bad but I was wrong!! The County Connection is horrible!! Most buses are empty except for the ones heading to and from DVC and maybe to the Amtrak Station in Martinez. I think that says a lot, especially when you compare it to AC Transit which is a lot more efficient. I mean imagine living near the North Concord Bart Station but the bus that passes in front of your house only goes to the Concord Bart station. So in essence, a ride that should take no more than 25 minutes (with stops), will take me at least an 1 hour (including stops). On top of that, the buses come only once/hour and after 6pm-8pm, no more buses!! I really would like to reduce my carbon foot print and help the environment but with bus lines like County Connection, I'm forced to continue destroying the Earth. Thanks!!

Today, I was leaving work in Danville a little later than I should have to catch Bus 21 to the Walnut Creek BART station. I was approaching my bus stop just as Bus 21 was to make the right turn at the light where I hoped to cross. I signaled that I wanted to aboard the bus (It only runs hourly during non-commute times). I would like to commend Rocky O, the driver, for waiting for me as I attempted to "sprint" to the bus. (if you can call what my 70+ year-old self does when trying to move swiftly.) Rocky O graciously waited patiently until I boarded and sat down. I have been traveling on Bus 21 for neary 5+ years and have received nothing less than good customer service. Just wanted to make sure that I gave KUDOs to Rocky O for saving me Uber fare, and also for helping me to arrive at my volunteer gig on time.

Friendly drivers, clean busses and prompt reliable service!!!Thank you County Connection for making my morning commute so enjoyable.

This is the most unreliable public transportation in my life. You just can not count on it to go anywhere. The bus breaks down often and they are short of drivers or the driver is sick and no replacement driver. When you call the office and they just can not give you the honest answer. The guy answers phone told you there is a bus and it's on its way. Please don't get fooled and keep your hope high. The bus eventually showed up and it's the next scheduled bus which is 30 minutes later. The total waiting time is 50 minutes.You think BART is bad, this is worse! I really miss the AC transit and I wish we can have it in contra costa county. The AC transit bus is cleaner and seldom skip the schedule. Besides, they do not update their online schedule often so you just can not trust the schedules on their website. I hope they can make some improvement to better serve the poor riders.

this review is about the bus 4 route in Walnut Creek. I am at a loss as to why the buses at the Walnut Creek BART always leave right when the BART arrives. That means the buses are almost always empty. This has been my experience.
