On the morning of our last day in Angels Camp I bent down and ... my back went out! Ugh. Great timing, right before the long drive back to the Bay Area. My wife drove coming home, but I was still in a lot of discomfort, and after an hour or so we needed a break. Nearing Discovery Bay, on my phone I looked for a park not too far from Highway 4, ideally something I could walk for a bit and stretch out my back. Cornell Park was like a prayer answered!Wide, grassy open spaces, nice, flat walking path, and a generous loop around the park. This was just what I needed! We walked around a few times, it was a quiet, sunny morning in Discovery Bay, and I could feel my back stretching out with each loop. On the rest of the drive back I was a little more comfortable.Cornell is a wonderful city park, and an ideal stopping point returning to the Bay Area from southern Gold Country.

This is a nice park to walk your dog or take a lap or two walking around. There is a place for kids to play, tennis.and pickle ball courts, soccer and baseball and of course DB hosts the great Camp Out here every summer. What is fun is meeting up with people and chit chatting. Love this park!
