Contra Costa Boat Works

I'm so pissed right now!! I just pulled my outdrive off because the last couple of times I had the boat on the water I noticed a growling type noise and vibration coming from the transom area. I thought maybe my ujoints might to be replaced since that's the only thing that wasn't replaced when CCBW had last serviced it. Instead..I find the gimbal bearing had disintegrated and that the ujoints were a little rusty but not in a compromised condition. Keep in mind that CCBW had supposedly replaced the gimbal bearing, all bellows, seals, etc. less than a year ago and the boat had only been in the water 6 times since (about 30hrs). You be the judge!! I have more to add to my experience w them from when I had initially brought my boat to them for the service but I ain't got time for that right now. I'm calling them up first thing in the morning and best believe the BBB will be hearing from me again also, if I don't get a positive outcome. What a way to start the summer!!

Highly wouldn't *NOT* recommend this place!!Brought it in for a specific problem - Wasn't fixed!!!!!Trusted owner it would be taken care of. Out of pocket $900 for an over-rated tune-up? Took it out on the water and got stuck - brought it back and found out it was the fuel pump that was NEEDED in the first place! Kept the boat for another 4 monthswanted another $1800 to fix. Plus tried to charge me another $100. to look at it! WOW!!

We have an old 1988 Marlin open bow boat that needed the out drive put back on because my hubby hurt his shoulder and couldn't do it.We had other boat places look at it, and they wanted a lot of money just to put it back together. Not wanting to dump a lot of money into an OLD boat we searched around and came across Contra Costa Boat Works. We called Terry and he was able to get us in to get it checked out right away (a week before Memorial Day weekend) Terry called us to let us know what it needed,how much it would cost and how long it would take, we agreed. I told him then, please don't make promises that you can't keep, he replied, as long as the parts come in, it will be done. It was actually done a day ahead of time!! So I went ahead and let them detail it inside and out! Let me say,that I cannot believe that old boat came out looking as good as he promised !! I was amazed! Terry is a honest and fair guy, he's not out to rip you off and charge an arm and and leg!! Jason his mechanic was very knowledgeable and honest and stayed within our budget! Thanks Jason!!! The boat ran great Memorial Day weekend and fun was had by all !!!

Incredible work, on time, top notch mechanics and the detail job they did on my boat was FANTASTIC! I've been to other top recommended shops, many where you have to wait a month to get an appointment, CCBoat Works beats them all! Just finished complete upper/lower maintenance on 2002 Bayliner 195 Capri Sport 4.3L mercruiserDon't go anywhere else, Terry in my opinion is the best and you won't be disappointed!

I called Contra Costa Boat Works because I bought a new (to me) boat and wanted it gone through before I went out on the water. The caveat? I was scheduled to take family and friends out in 3 days. I called Terry and he told me that his policy was to help those who wanted to get out on the water first. He said that he had other customers that weren't in a hurry, and that he could take care of me in the allotted time frame. The second problem is that my schedule is fairly busy, so Terry offered to swing by my house and pick up the boat. Wow! He returned the boat to me the day before my Lake Berryessa outing, and the work was very well done.5 stars for Terry and Contra Costa Boat Works...I won't hesitate to use them in the future, and neither should you.

These were very nice people, and the shop had great reviews on yelp. However, they were unable to fix our boat after keeping it for one month. They charged $400 to fix the brakes on our trailer and another minor issue, which was never completed as confirmed by the next boat company we took our boat to to be repaired. Be careful.

Terry replaced a starter on my boat in the Pittsburg Marina. I was relieved that he was willing to travel to the boat and that I didn't have to motor the boat on a single engine to a local boatyard. He was super fast to respond (text and email), got the work done fast and done right. Couldn't be happier. I will definitely be using Contra Costa Boat Works again in the future.

Got into some rocks with my Ranger bass boat chipped the gel coat underneath. Contacted Terry of Contra Costa Boat Works about doing the work. He did an excellent job, cheaper price than any place else and I would highly recommend this shop.

I have a 22 foot SeaRay and had the brakes go out on the tandem trailer Saturday coming back from the Delta. I had been going all the way to Livermore for my boat service but that was too far with no brakes. After seeing the reviews on Yelp, I called Contra Costa Boat Works early Sunday morning expecting to leave a message and was surprised whenTerry answered the phone. He was able to squeeze me in that week, fixed the brakes and serviced the engine/outdrive. I also had him detail the boat and WOW!, does the boat look like NEW (no kidding). I figured it would look better but he did a really nice job and I could not be happier. I'm thrilled to have found Contra Costa Boat Works since they do a terrific job, understand customer service and are so local. Terry has a customer for life!
