Our group of three visited Clarksburg Wine Company this past Sunday, and we're so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a fantastic selection of wines.Patsy guided us through our tasting, and she is nothing short of spectacular! For just $15, we each got to pick five wines from their extensive list--such a great deal. Plus, they offer mini charcuterie plates (for purchase) to snack on while you sip, making the experience even better.Located inside the charming Old Sugar Mill, this cozy yet spacious tasting room is perfect for both small groups and larger parties. And if you love wine-themed goodies, their little retail section is full of fun finds.Highly recommend stopping by for a relaxed, welcoming, and delicious tasting experience. We'll definitely be back!

This is my favorite place to taste at the Old Sugar Mill. The wine is always amazing and so is the service and friendliness of the staff. My friend and I were originally there for an event at i their tasting room but since we had the afternoon free I had to introduce her my favorite spot. It was the middle of a Saturday afternoon and we were able to be sat immediately. They had recently partnered with Country Roads and offered a tasting off of that menu which I consult resist since I taste Clarksburg Wine Co all the time. I was so excited and the wines lived up to my expectation. The list offered 8 wines of which I was able to pick 5 for $15. The tasting is waived if you purchase a bottle to which I bought two. We had a wonderful time enjoying the chill atmosphere and tasty wines. Very impressive as always and I can't wait to go back.

Went here on a quiet Tuesday afternoon and had a great time tasting the wide variety of delicious wines at this place. They claim to have the best Chenin Blanc and admittedly it was very good! Got a bottle of that and the Delta Rose at reasonable prices after the tastings. They appear to keep the place very clean with hand sanitizer abundantly available and have a nice large space with several tables for tastings. Chad was a great host and very knowledgeable about all of the wines that he poured for us and we got to sample several of them off the list! I would absolutely come back and visit again after the great experience I had with my friend.

Wow, what a disappointment this place was.. I was served by a gentleman by the name of Javier. I would like to let you know that Javier is the primary reason for this. We were at several different wine shops at the Old Sugar Mill. (i.e We purchase many bottles of wine that day at this location). The Old sugar mill is one of the places I invite my friends and family to when they come up for vacation. I was really looking forward to a good experience. Unfortunately, I met up with this character. Please keep in mind we had already purchased numerous bottles of wines and meats from the butchery. We'd been at the old sugar pretty much the whole morning. Our last stop on the wine tour of the old sugar mill would have been Clarksburg winery. Now surprisingly the place wasn't crowded there was only one other person there so it wasn't busy. I've been here in the past and they have pretty good wine. There were 4 people in total and we to ask if it would be possible to order 2 flights to be shared since we had already had so much wine earlier.. The concern between the 2 families is leaving; we were driving home at this point this is something we express specifically to Javier. After pouring his 2nd pour he asked with the question as to how we were enjoying the wine the he recommended. My wife indicated to her that the wine was too sweet for her palate And requested that anything else suggest it should be a little more dry. Apparently he was offended by a response. He also found it more offensive when we requested that he gave us a spitting bucket to pull out the wine So that we can cleanse our palate and try some more.Out of concern for his response to the wine, I decided to try some of the wine that my wife was my wife was tasting just to see if it was her palate. It's quite common to have a bad palate if you're tasting too many wines throughout the day. So I wanted to give it a taste too see if it was infactmy my wife palate. When he returned he noticed that I was drinking her wine and indicated to me that in order for me to drink her wine I would have to pay for a second wine flight even though we didn't order it. He indicated that it was company policy that if anybody is to drink wine to have to order their own flights. Please note he made this comment after we requested that we didn't want to have more than 2 flights of wine. And this misunderstanding he decided that he was gonna tell me that if I drank that wine again that hes gonna charge me for 2 more flights. And that if I didn't like that response I could take it up with the owner. My wife is so offended by his comments that she actually got up and in a stream of tears was so offended by him she had to leave the room so as to not be disrespectful. He made my wife feel like as if we were stealing something and that's a bad feeling down considering that we're supposed to have a good experience with family friends. So he charged me for 3 flights of wine which I paid by the way. And we left. Several days later I tried to contact Clarksburg winery and hopes to speak to the owner but they never return my call. That being said here's what I want to let you know. Clarksburg winery actually has quite a few good bottles of wine and we were interested in actually making a purchase that day of several other bottles. Unfortunately the service was very poor and if you're looking for rude people then be my guests go there. If the owner decides to see this please feel free to respond to my post and I'll be more than happy to give you my phone number and we can talk about it further.. As far as I'm concerned I'm very ashamed and embarrassed for you guys considering I recommend people to go here.

My first time at Old Sugar Mill! What a cool place. I also got to hold the Mill's cat that roams around. Javier was a very welcoming host and joked and laughed with us! Very nice and made us feel at home. We had the chenin blanc and it was great! Very smooth and a little sweet. We all could tell why it is famous! Such a nice area and great service and wine. Will definitely be back.

Come For The Chenin Blanc, Stay for The Laughs!SITREPIt might sound truly odd, but I think that the main strength of this Winery-Wine Bar in Old Sugar Mill is that Clarksburg Wine Company ("CWC") has so many EXTRAS that they sell In-Store!THE SETUPCWC makes the claim that it has THE BEST Chenin Blanc. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/clarksburg-wine-company-clarksburg?select=2j4u5H3QYqc7Ppwjz-24eQ&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0wI kinda see this bragging claim on the level of two competing-posturing College Football teams claiming that they are better than their competitor. You EXPECT each side to make this claim. But when rubber meets the road, although a very good Chenin Blanc, it still would not be my Go-To. I think for my own purchases this buying year, I'll stick with the vintages out of the Santa Ynez valley, or even a dark horse such as the L'Ecole No. Old Vines Chenin Blanc from the Columbia Valley, WA. Although in local-area competition, keep an eye out for the Lange Twins 2016 Prince Vineyard Chenin Blanc also in Clarksburg: VERY good!Suffice it to say, I very much enjoyed CWC's tasting, but that was it. [Yet if I find a more reasonably priced bottle in the local grocery store, I may grab it.] However....THE SWAG!I actually still walked out of their store with some hiLARious items! They have pillows, aprons, all SORTS of odds items that made for some fantastic stocking-stuffers (since by late December I still was without ANYTHING and needed to find some cool things to get). *Guess what I got Grams!https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/clarksburg-wine-company-clarksburg?select=lQH5w9z9f2K0qFJCC_NFUg&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w*Guess what I got Mi Mammasita!https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/clarksburg-wine-company-clarksburg?select=m4oYQXtejFNx0aHIWdLo4g&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w*Festive Bags! I got a couple here because I needed something to carry the bottles (of other wineries) that I was taking to the homes I was visiting for the holiday meals. So coming with friends to the Old Sugar Mill STILL ended up being a *SCORE* for me on this front.THE LOWDOWNThe tasting is good, but the in-store items are hiLARious & fun and a great go-to when needing some gifts very fast!

Clarksburg Wine Company (or as we call it, Clarksburg Winery) is the last winery on the right at the Old Sugar Mill. But you should make it #1 on your tasting list. Don't taste your way down through the building and go here last. Start here while your palate is sharp, as you will really appreciate the quality. I've tasted all over California, and it's a treat to find French-style wines right here in the Delta. These are the real deal. Their whites are amazing, but it's the reds that will blow your mind. Heavy on the Cabs (of several years' vintage) and Bordeaux blends, Petite Syrrah, Petite Verdot, and more. If you are the kind who likes a sweeter wine, there are a couple of options, too, a late harvest chenin blanc and a Gouteux red dessert wine. Whether you are a first-time taster or a wine snob--or anywhere in between--Clarksburg makes the tasting experience enjoyable and educational.Even when it's busy, you'll be well taken care of. The pourers know their wines and are happy to answer questions. I recommend you make a reservation, as their capacity is lower now due to Covid. With the weather turning springlike, head for the patio. It's so relaxing out there. And, of course, the whole Sugar Mill complex is simply gorgeous and a short ride along the river from Sacramento. One final note, I am not one for souvenirs, but they have some really cute items--aprons, towels, signs, etc. I've bought quite a few gifts there, even for non-wine-drinking friends.

I pretty much hit up this spot every time I hit the Old Sugar Mill. We signed up for a barrel tasting at the Clarksburg Wine Company. The tasting we had that day was free. Who can say no to free wine? I ended up really liking this spot. The woman that was our wine pourer was super sweet. She let us take our time and we picked out two bottles we loved. It was out first stop and I think both my g/f and I enjoyed the feel and service of this place the best. The inside is spacious and they have super cute merch. I was thinking about getting something (a sweater maybe) but I didn't end up doing so. My girlfriend got a bottle of rosé and I got a white wine. I think their whites are very good - although the red they had in the barrel was also very good!
