The lack of public docking / day use for the town of Clarksburg for wine tasting / visiting Husick's Taphouse etc is an absolute shame of a missed opportunity to bring boaters into town.

I question welcoming and acceptance of diversity in people, ideas, beliefs, and politics in Clarksburg. This is not a COVID issue, rather an issue of decency and respect for all people. My husband and I recently had a horrible experience that will forever be seared in our minds and unfortunately creates this level of questioning about the Harbor Master and her associates... I'm sure there are many who may have a positive experience and as a result, I wonder what their background consists of... If there was an opportunity for education about the boater experience it was missed by Kathleen and her subtle goon that she sent out to ensure that we did not gain access to our scheduled events in Clarksburg. There was no salacious conflict to report out about just a deeply imbedded message of you don't belong here... well, message received, and shared.

So, unlike the other user, we did have public access using Clarksburg Marina, however, we made arrangements ahead of time. They were very accommodating, and were very easy to correspond with via email. thanks to them we were able to enjoy the delta with friends and take them to one of our favorite spots on the delta after docking, The BBQ Proper and Tap Room at Husicks. We were so thankful for their willingness to help us out with that. Super friendly, great service, and convenient location. Thank you!!!

Called the morning I was taking the boat out and made a reservation. The owners were so nice and made it easy to pull up and park here for the day. After a day on the river, the wife and I pulled up to the dock and took a short walk to the old sugar mill for some wine tasting. Even took a bottle back to the dock and toasted on board to the sunset. Where else can you do that!? We will definitely be back.

Broke down right at Clarksburg marina. We had a small child (age 5) on the boat. They wouldn't even let us dock at the marina until we could get help. Talked to Kathleen absolutely no help. It's sad in a town like Clarksburg when you can't get a friendly hand. We even offered 100.00 for a gallon of gas.

No Public Access. Embarked on a trip down the river to grab a bite and maybe a wine tasting only to find out there is no public access from the dock. Marina attendant did call me back promptly to explain this to me. My bad for not researching earlier, just don't plan on courtesy docking there.

Docking made easy. I had to pick a few bottles from my wine club at Sugarmill and thought a boat ride would be a great way of getting there. Called the marina an hour ahead and talked to the dock keeper who instructed me how to deposit my money and pickup my key. It's about a mile walk on heavily traveled roads, but worth the trip.
