I'm not too sure why the reviews for Stockton are sooo dreadfuL...Raise your hand if you enjoy a huge meLting pot of Authentic cuisine readiLy avaiLabLe, a nice reLaxing day @ the park, beautifuL views at the waterfront| port of Stockton, & everything is at a fraction of the cost you wouLd normaLLy pay eLsewhere. My experiences here have been nothing short of fun, tasty, and memorabLe!Sure it has its share of sketchy neighborhoods, graffiti fiLLed waLLs, & YES, the crime rate is pretty high but what city doesn't have these issues??

City of Stockton is my hometown and very thankful for my parents to make their home and business here.My father worked hard here from the Phillipines in the 1940s,he had his own business and hotel and builted a block of rental homes and our home here. We were blessed to live in a nice neighborhood here my mom didnt want to live in the Bay area .My brother and sister aways showed me the the great places to aventure in Stockton. We enjoyed the Country Fair here when we were young and the Fairyland Pixiewoods stii here to enjoy with our kid and Neighbors. We enjoy the Delta with friends jetsking, boating and picnics on the waterways hereStockton has developed a new shopping area north of Stockton off of Elk grove turnoff before Lo di.Sonic,Target,Kholes, many chainstores and more ,Safe and plenty of security here.Stockon's has its crime but all citys are not perfect either here.Blessed to Raised a family here and have our own Business here.We have a New Young Mayor here and he has proven to improve City of Stockton and the homeless here .He will promote growth and improve our community as promised.

I moved to Stockton by choice. There are two Stockton's. Just like every urban area. But Brookside, Historic Oxford Manor, Caldwell Village and Lincoln Village are beautiful places to live.

The city of Stockton, California is my hometown. I love this city a lot. She means so much to me. I was born here many moons ago. I left to live in a foreign land as a baby. I lived in the Bay area as well. I came back to her in 1995. In this city I met, so many people and made a lot of friends. My parents and most of my relatives live here too. I love all of them so much. But most importantly my three children were born here. My eldest daughter in 1996 , my son in 2000 and my baby girl in 2005. They are my very own holy trinity. My children are my life and Stockton, California is our home. So many beautiful memories were made here. I cherish each and everyone of them. I could never leave to live anywhere else. Because this city is apart of my life. Despite what others may think, this city is Beautiful. Positive in and negative out. Vincent D *VD * Enjoying the simple things in life

For my 300th review...the City of Stockton! Yay! I'm a fan...A-Ok...Yay! I'm a fan. It is so hard to decide. To be honest, I am a fan of Stockton. Maybe I have a different outlook on the city now that I live in Southern California but I have always been a fan of the City of Stockton.I grew up in the city. When I say grew up I went to Elkhorn Elementary, Delta Sierra Middle School and Tokay High School. For some odd reason in all those years I never felt the crime presence that everyone else seems to write about. I have always been of the opinion that just like any other city Stockton has its good parts and its bad parts. Sure the Asparagus Festival is great in Downtown Stockton but you would not want to walk too far South of where the actual festival is...its not really a safe place to be. To be honest the crime problem with Stockton is why this is a 4 star review and not a 5 star. Stockton has some really wonderful things to offer like:Asparagus FestivalWeber Point Event CenterBanner Island BallparkBob Hope TheaterStockton Civic TheaterSan Joaquin Delta CollegeUniversity of the Pacificand...Two malls right next to each other!! (note the sarcasm) Stockton has been an All-American City twice now. I would assume they just do not give that title out to just anyone. Stockton is right in between everything...it is 45 minutes to the State Capital, 90 minutes to San Francisco and 3 hours to Lake Tahoe. It is nice and close to everything without being quite so expensive. I realize that Stockton ranks up there on some of those "most horrible places to live" lists but that also takes into account things like unemployment and rental prices. I guess if I did not have a college degree I might worry about living in Stockton but even though I live in Southern California right now I plan on living in Stockton again someday.I think with the revitalization of Downtown, the Crosstown Freeway and new housing in places like Spanos Park Stockton has come a long way towards being a better city than it has in the past.I have hope for Stockton...:0)

I've got 99 problems, and Stockton is 1-99!My review is from the view of a contractor doing work for the city. If you're considering work here, take some notes:Your equipment WILL be broke into, vandalized and stolen! That's a fact! The police WILL NOT take a report or even come investigate, you have to go online and do a police report( I don't know why the city even wastes its money on such a fruitless system).Over the course of three days, we have had three vehicle break ins, $20,000 in equipment gone. Vehicles were parked in a lit hotel parking lot.We even hired security, one break in was thwarted, suspect pepper sprayed on ran off, still police wouldn't do anything. If you come here for work, make sure your insurance is up to par, try and use the waste water plant to park your vehicles since it is secure, it will take about a month to get approval to park there, at least it is fenced.Make sure you have a good inventory of your equipment with serial numbers. You can probably re-purchase them on Craigslist.Enter Stockton at your own risk, avoid it if at all possible!!!!!!

I am a new business owner, creating a first time business license within the city of Stockton. Opening new business license for different cities can be challenging based on the staff and that City Hall I walked in today and the staff member was bubbly, present, professional, and helpful she made The overall experience a positive one. She represents the city of Of Stockton in a great way extremely satisfied with my customer service in the city of Stockton City Hall. It was not just me as I filled out my paperwork. She helped three other customers with the same enthusiasm and energy. People always complain with bad service and rarely compliment exemplary service. Rae ann is her name.
