Paid permit parking along Church Street. How would the city put tow away no parking signs after 11am when I'm parked before signs placed! 24 hour notice is required. Called non emergency line and have been transferred 4 times finally ended up at public works an no answer. I asked for parking enforcement but they must have called in sick today.

Cute Downtown Lodi with tree lined streetsNot my first time in the City of Lodi. Came here last year for Mother's Day lunch before heading to some of the wineries. We dined at M Sushi Bistro on School Street. Came back this past weekend for an event my daughter participated in. This time I had more time and I was able to check out the Downtown scene. The first thing we saw as we entered the downtown area was the Lodi Mission Arch. The classic 40-foot Mission Arch was built in 1907 and is topped with a 23-karat gold leaf covered State Bear. It was sort of like a grand entrance to the site of the first Lodi Grape Festival. There is a marker: California Registered Historical Landmark No. 931 The brick-lined streets were filled with restaurants, tasting rooms, coffee shops, galleries, specialty boutiques, antique shops... and, for bargain hunters, consignment stores. There's a transportation hub located by the Mission Arch. It's a train and bus station in one facility. The train will take passengers to Old Sacramento and to the Bay Area.Overall, I enjoyed exploring Downtown Lodi... there is limited parking and can be challenging especially when there are local events happening. Go to the Visitor Center for more info especially when planning to visit nearby wineries.Review #2583

Worst utility payment system ever! They want your utility bill paid, I want to pay it. The new "Lodi Connect" is the worst system to make payments. It would be faster to drive down and pay in person, but I don't want to fight traffic and I should be able to have an easy online payment system like every other bill I have. I just tried to pay my bill(2 months due now because the system is ridiculous, and then I forgot), after typing in a truck load of information that the system SHOULD save, I get kicked out because "your session has expired", and it went into an eternal loading circle. I was typing!!!! So I'm not gonna try again because I'm not sure if it worked or not and I can't afford to have them take the payment twice. City of Lodi, get a user friendly online payment service, please. Every time I try to log in, it says "invalid user name/pass word" problems logging, just CALL our office. I can't! I work during your hours!!! It's 2024!

No idea why the reviews are so negative. Who doesn't love that you can avoid busy streets by driving through long blocks of vineyards to get to numerous places around the city? Lodi is on the map folks - their wines are terrific, the downtown area is rich with cool shops, galleries and eateries including tasting rooms that are perfect for stoping in and learning about what's worth tasting.Summer is winding down and finding free street parking is easier than you think. The city hall area has some great history, after dark though the homeless sort of move in so do stay alert.Lodi is a nifty destination for wineaux's who want to enjoy some tasty options without the extra driving to Napa. Give it a try...you'll be glad you did.

I would like to offer some constructive "information " to the City of Lodi Utility-Finance department. First of all...love the town, love the vibe, adore the downtown activities!!! Great job Lodi!!The utility portion is sadly lacking though. The City of Lodi department office is so very drab and depressing... no wonder customer service is drab and depressing!! No one goes out of their way to keep the line moving. No one calls from all of the people in the back of the department to help process payments. (We can see you sitting back there)A new coat of paint, a new manager to facilitate a new culture of service would be absolutely wonderful!! Something so simple would make all the difference in the world to the people that keep Lodi financed.

I'm purely giving a review based on how long it took me to speak with customer service to cancel my service... I started out 4th in line and it took over an hour to speak with someone! I also had called earlier and requested a call back but did not receive a call back. If they aren't going to have people take your call they should make it easier to cancel your service.

Once again we are attempting to open another office here in lovable livable Lodi and are on our second week of nonsense (and fees) just to get the power turned on. It is incredible. I tell you we had none of these issues when we moved our other businesses to Nevada. They were actually helpful...and reminded me no corporate income tax and no personal income tax.Oh yeah, just to top it off i was cited for power washing moss/algae from a sidewalk. Because of the wet year it seems to have grown into a slick mess. Read through ordinance and it seems to have provision to use water to clean off anything which may be a hazard to the public...well if the public walks up my sidewalk it would be a hazard. it certainly is to our elders. We were told all we needed to do was call the office and they would put us on a spreadsheet and we could wash it...huh...they couldn't answer what difference it makes for water waste if we are on a spreadsheet or not if it is an allowed use. The difference is i now have a citation and the next infraction will cost me money. An interesting thing is the water person already had the citation filled out before finding out what we were doing. So I got a water waste citation for doing something allowed in the ordinance. Another BTW, saw nothing in the ordinance about calling in to notify and get on a spreadsheet but that doesn't matter because they don't answer their phone anyway. If we didn't have great employees and great customers in central California i would bail on this nonsense. For years i have had hopes California and Lodi would get it and encourage business...I give up...is what it is...

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have called three times and have had to hang up after waiting more than one hour on hold.! When I have talked to them in the past they are ridged and do not want to help you. We have five properties in Lodi so I can't get around paying my utilities to them. Does anyone have a suggestion??

Trying to hook up service to my new apartment in Lodi (2nd residence). I've been on hold for 2+ hours now. I had to call them last month and I was on hold for 1 1/2 hours. Inexcusable!

Lodi is no different than any other city when it comes to its governmental services, completely incompetent and useless. So ridiculous that it is always the same story, government offices are poorly run, lie to you, make things that should be simple overly complicated and they are all set up to take your money from you. I had to renew my business license; should be simple right? Nope! I received an email telling me to renew and it provided a link to do so, the link makes you fill out some sections just to end up telling you that you can not renew online. It does not provide any address, phone number, or other resources to renew. So I looked online and got nowhere. I went to the city office and was told I have to renew online. When I told them that the online service isn't working, they looked at me and told me that it does and that there is absolutely no other way to renew unless I do it online. After arguing for a bit I was given a phone number, called it, and had to give my personal information and credit card info over the phone which I did not want to do. Oh yeah, and when you call the number, the automated options are incorrect and do not give the options that you need, you have to hit the option for tax info and it sends you to not the tax info but to a live person. even when you tell them about the issues, they don't care and will put out zero effort to fix it. But hey, at least I'm overcharged for utilities... oh wait, that sucks too.
