So many hiking areas around the city and other cities surrounding this area so definitely if that's what you're looking for check this place out! There's multiple places for you to explore shop etc... Come check this place out for yourself but just Lock your car up and don't put things in your windshield where people can see it..If I think of other things to add to this post I will and pictures as well thanks for reading hope this helps!

Love coming here , especially when the world can be so cruel. It's a fresh of breath air. I went fishing here it was almost my friend caught a fish amazing feeling we never thought fishing would be something we can do, but we did it. I love to park in my car and feel the breeze blow bye. We call this place The Dock of the Bay.

The very worst city services of the cities I've lived in California. You want to pay a bill . Then be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes or more . True incompetence of the staff ..must be knowledgeable to operate city offices

This place is a huge disappointment. I was offered a job and then the job offer was rescinded. No one ever called me to explain and all I received were short emails. The HR department is rude and unprofessional. The City Manager and Mayor were no help to me whatsoever. Run away from this place as quickly as you can. Do NOT work here and please spread the word about these poor business practices.

Has anyone noticed how Country hills dr.Look. The walking trails is as tall as your head and brown. Check out wolf and country hills a whole sink is sitting in someone's yard for the past 6 mos. This is sad a main street like Dear valley or Lone tree. This is a heavily traveled Main Street in Antioch. The change of council has definitely made a difference. School children walk thru these trails. The street cleaner barely hit the curbs and the grass on the street and in the drains is awful. We pay taxes! City of Antioch do better! Thus city look a mess.

Dear City of Antioch:Oh, how I would love to one day give you a 5-star rating. You were like a handsome prince with all the bells, whistles and potentials of a great city. This was circa 1998. My family loved you so much that we bought not one but two homes in your city. For now you remain a half of a star in my eyes for the following reasons. 1. Your schools suck. I guess I should blame the Antioch School District for their poor management. Go to www.niche.com and see where the schools in Anitoch rank in comparison to all the other schools in California. It's jaw-dropping.2. Your current mayor sucks: What is he doing besides working as a substitute teacher at Black Diamond Middle School? Dude, you need to attract businesses and corporations like you need air or crack. Get Google, Facebook or Amazon to establish a business location in Anitoch. Give them mega tax breaks. Antiochans need jobs so that they can uplift the city's economy. We do not need anymore cops in Antioch. We need folks to be able to support themselves so that they have no need to commit petty crimes, and the kids will be too busy making money to fight at the parking lot at Taco Bell.3. The commute from Antioch to other cities is HELL. This goes back to poor city planning. City planners, don't eve approve more housing in your city when you know there aren't enough roads to support the commuters? What the hell are you guys doing? 4. Too many section 8ers. This goes back to poor City planning and decisions again. Why do we keep voting to have more section 8 renters rent our beautiful homes? Stop it. Section 8ers, get your act together, don't vandalize the homes, discipline your kids and keep them away from trouble, so you won't keep having these bad reputations. You obviously have time to discipline your kids because you don't work a 9-5 jobs like most people.Until all of the above items are resolved, Antioch will continue to be voted as one of the 5 most undesirable cities to live in the Bay Area. It is too bad because, otherwise, Antioch is situated in a great landscape with historical parks and nice warm weather. Some of the long-time residents are decent and would like nothing else but to have a decent neighborhood. They worked hard to be able to purchase the homes that they live in which now have declining home values.

i firmly agree with the other reviews. The city management is horrible. They sold the city years ago for section 8. they are doing it again by trying to sell the old lumber yard on Second for high density apartments. would make a nice park but that wont line their pockets will it?

Antioch is a great place in which to live. It is right next to the delta, and it boasts magnificent mountains, blue skies, relatively little pollution, beautiful, still affordable housing, great views in the hilly parts of town, wide, clean, splendidly landscaped streets, numerous parks, plenty of shopping. Although Antioch now has well over 100,000 inhabitants, it is not hard to find parking spaces and, unlike other cities, you don't have to wait in long lines whenever you shop. It is a pleasure to drive in town. The city is centrally located, about 45 minutes from Berkeley, Oakland, less than an hour from San Francisco and the San Joaquin Valley - and the widening of Highway 4 to eight lanes (four on each side) - will make distances seem even shorter. Another advantage will be the availability of BART in 2017. There is no question that property values will continue to rise. While it is true that crime is still too high, the city will soon hire an additional nineteen policemen, and the crime rate will surely decline as the economy improves. Some exaggerate the problem, blaming it on the influx of people from Oakland and Richmond - according to the city data website Antioch is now 15.1% black - but the truth of the matter is that crime knows no color. More often than not, poverty is the main cause. The few black persons on my street are well educated, middle class, with beautiful homes, well kept lawns, and happen to be great neighbors as well. Those who live here and insist on putting Antioch down are not being fair to everybody else nor even to themselves, for it is their city as well. Every city has its problems, and ours will eventually improve. In a nutshell, watch the value of your property rise. Antioch is a great place where to live, and it will become even better in the future.
