Chesapeake Bay Apartments? What can I say about this place? Well, I'll just stick to the negative part, since that's how it ended up, and I'll add a bit of positive at the end, just for the hell of it!But first of all a....DISCLAIMER: You may notice two written apartment reviews, for places I've lived at, in very close proximity. The fact is, I don't think I've ever complained or had a bad experience in an apartment, within such a short time. The point of this disclaimer is to ensure you don't dismiss my attitude or reviews, based on this coincidence. I'm not a picky person when it comes to where I live. I'll also write some reviews of other places I've stayed at over the years and enjoyed immensely. Okay, there is this lady who was a manager at this place, between the time of October 2003 and July 2004. Nice enough. But she turned into a real bitch the last few weeks of my living there. I suppose it started when I had to break my contract, a yearly contract. And by the way, that's not the end all to be all, of living somewhere. I think the fact that folks couldn't throw garbage into the garbage bins, and have it land on the ground and make the place trashy might be a bigger problem, than the regular number of folks who break apartment rental contracts.I called up and told the office that I had to break my contract. She called me back and told me on the phone that policy was that I had to pay the remainder of my contract. When they re-rented the apartment, I should be refunded. I told her in no uncertain terms that I "would not be paying 3 months of rent for nothing." First of all, I don't normally have that much in advance to pay, 2nd, what average person in their right mind would pay 3 months in advance? I wonder how many times in history, has somebody gotten that call, and responded positively? Huh? Give me a break!!! What sticks in my mind, was her perceived passiveness, and her "okay" and hanging up. Little did I know I would be remembering that conversation many times later in various levels of communications.Several weeks later (I was kind enough to give them a 30 day notice).I had completely moved out. I gave them a call to let them know my apartment was empty. I was paid up, through the next week or so, and they could have cleaned and rented the apartment anytime over the next 30 days.I had two cars, and only one driver in my family, so I chose to leave my car parked (in an open space, not my assigned space) and was to return within 1 week to pick up my car.Unbeknownst to me, she, Dalene Howe, at the management office had put a "store bought" yellow parking sticker on my car, the very next day. The "ticket looking" yellow sticker (not an official one used by law enforcement) stated that my car would be towed within 24 hours? Huh? This is not a place that is in the middle of the city, where you commonly see "abandoned" cars. Trust me, it was very crazy that this happened. Ohh and I had paid my rent up to the end of the month, and this was near the beginning of the month, so it can't be argued that I was no longer a resident. But I didn't know. I returned about 1 week later, to check on my car, and make sure all was okay (I happened to be in town.) and could not find my car. I immediately went to the management office. I saw somebody named Tracy, and asked her what happened, if she knew. She acted somewhat defensive, and instructed me to go out and talk to Dalene, who was giving a tour on the property. You read that right! She was instructing me to go out and interrupt the manager on a property tour. Are you with me? I'll do the math for you. This was the response of somebody who knew some wrong had been done, and she didn't want any part of it. She wanted me out of her hair, even if it meant telling me to do something that was totally against company policy.Long story, short. She had towed my car, because she was: an imbicile, mad about me breaking my contract, mad about standing up to her on the phone and refusing to pay 3 months rent to nothing, or a combination of all three. Can you believe it? And the Smoking Gun? Dalene is married to the owner of the local tow shop? Ohh, and did I forget to mention I had gotten one of their stupid yellow stickers on my other car, months earlier when I lived there, and questioned it then too. I also ensured my cars license plates were updated in their records in their office, so it was ridiculous to be told my car would be towed, because it hadn't moved in 3 days, or whatever. Not to mention, even in the city, those stupid sticky yellow tow stickers (not the one that was on my car) always say 15 or more days, a much more reasonable frame of time.Good stuff: Allowed washer/dryer hook ups in the unit we lived in and this was great for my wifeNice pool areaNice gymNice laundry room, but we never used itThey had a basketball court.

Total Piece of Crap place to live! Apartments are dingy, and smell! The walls are paper thin and inhibets privacy! The grounds are not well kept, or safe! Homeless persons found sleeping in residents vehicles on numerous occasions! Apartment mangager is a very rude Douche-Bag! She will tow yours or a visitors vehicle if it is left in an open parking space for more than a day! Come to find out, her husband owns the towing company, hmmmm quite convenient?I would definitely steer away from this property!

Just recently moved out. The apartments are very clean, and in good shape. Our apartment was in the back and we were constantly surrounded by young kids and teenagers hanging outside until 10p. (Summer nights were the worst) We wanted our apartment to be in the far back because we thought it would be quieter but it's actually the opposite. One thing I really dislike (almost hate) is how inconsistent the staff is. When they need something from you (rent, a signature, etc) they will call you, your parents, your work, your long lost cousin, everyone there is to get a hold of you but if you need them... good luck. They're friendly but that's as far as it gets. We were late on rent once and they called my husbands work... extremely unprofessional. As for the apartments, I do recommend it

This place seemed nice at first. The inside was painted nicely and there wasn't any major damages to the carpet. I have lived here for almost a year now and signed my lease only because I have no money to move else where at the moment. During this year the carpet stains have risen from the previous people and my apartment got robbed. Someone else's car got stolen and other small theft has happened. This has all been done by someone inside the apartment. The manager has yet to make my family feel safe and take action. She just acts oblivious. I have confronted her once already and it has showed she doesn't care. She's the worst manager of apartments ever. My life has never felt so violated before. I have never had an issue with apartments. I can't sleep let alone feel safe in my own home. Do you think she cares ? No, she's getting her checks and trying to update the apartment amenities and change the color of the place to make it more "fancy". They allow sections 8 here and that's the problem. These apartment won't ever be great unless she takes that away. I hate this place. It's horrible. Don't move here with your children. The children here curse and swear up and down from K-10th grade.

DALENE ALERT/ BLACK MOLD ALERTWe had a horrible experience with the management of this place. Dalene, Has to be the most unprofessional, rude, and shady person I have ever encountered On this planet. My kids got literally ill and diagnosed with asthma and respiratory issues due to mold being INFESTED so bad in our apartment INSIDE AND IOUT(mold report included by professionals) We asked them to fix it three times and it kept coming back. We bought fans, we bought air purifiers and nothing would work. Dalene acted as if she didn't care at all. We had to move out due to this issue. Dalene didn't want to offer any kind of reasoning, explanations, or help. She wouldn't even call me back for a week. I had to cal her almost every day demanding to talk to her. But as we are moving out. Dalene doesn't even offer any kind of solution. We had to go above her head. Freddy the entire GSF complex manager was an absolutely awesome dude. He asked what we wanted from the beginning and listened to us AND ASKED HOW OUR FAMILY WAS DOING. Which DALENE DIDN'T ASK ONCE. If you write her bad reviews her BOYFRIEND the TOW TRUCK DRIVER will tow your car. So let's see if this is true shall we! I'm so disappointed in the way she handled our situation. Complete and utter SNOB. She wouldn't even look at me when we were on site looking for a different unit... This "manager" doesn't know how to talk to people, sympathize for people, or show simple respect for people. She didn't ask once how we are doing or seem to care we were homeless for a week. If anyone has any problem with this complex cal Freddy, he's her boss. GSF property management and ask for him specifically. I already made a formal complaint about her and everyone here should too. Let's get new management and show her you need to respect people and don't act so unprofessional. As of now we are moving out. Due to our SECOND APARTMENT being flooded and full of mold. On the complete other side of complex!! So please people, don't move here unless they treat it. We witnessed maintenance clean our old apartment and it seems like all they did was paint over the existing mold. Also she'll charge you 5000$ for carpet replacement and pet damage when you DIDNT EVEN HAVE A PET!! DO NOT MOVE IN HERE Thank you all for reading my rant. This was a serious issue and she deserves to be called out for her pathetic behavior. A
