Fab dinner! Thanks Chef All aspects of this experience was great from order to delivery. So enjoyed the Yummy Mixed Poke Bowls over seaweed salad and rice. Fish so fresh and nicely cut. Local star sushi chef Taka Watanabe is now delivering to your front door! What could be better? Chef Watanabe of Ju Hachi and Taka's Sushi fame has long been a personal favorite of mine as he has traditional Japanese sushi making technique under his belt, and certainly understands the quality and cut of the fish very well. When the pandemic hit, one of the things I missed the most was sushi, it just didn't seem like the best food for takeout but with Chef Taka now on wheels, delivering perfectly chilled sushi to your front door it honestly couldn't be better.Check on his website/facebook for which days of the week they will be delivering to which neighborhood. If your neighborhood is not included, but is somewhat close to where they are heading, more often than not, they will be able to squeeze you in!Highly recommend the small omakase platter ($50, perfect amount of sushi for two people- 3 rolls, 3 sets of chef's choice nigiri) and uni nigiri. So far I have only been ordering for special occasions so when I make a more "casual" order would love to try out their pokes!$50 minimum order, orders can be placed days in advance but at least before noon on the day of the delivery. I can't remember where I first read about this sushi delivery service, but when I was trying to find a safe way to celebrate our anniversary, I happened to remember it, and google zeroed me in on Chef Taka Watanabe. I was uncertain about how it all worked, but I sent in an e-mail, and Susan was very fast and helpful in answering my questions. They weren't delivering in my area the day I needed the sushi, but she offered to schedule a meet-up in the afternoon. Payment was quick and easy through Apple Pay/Venmo. It was a little bit of a drive for me, but the deliverer was on time and everything was nicely packaged and made transporting the sushi back home uneventful. I just kept the sushi in the cooler I transported it until we were ready to eat it a few hours later.We found a nice spot along the American River, set up a small table and chairs, and pulled out the sushi. The sushi was very high quality, fresh, beautifully presented, and most of all delicious! It made for a very special anniversary celebration.

Chef Taka Watanabe created a beautiful experience for us last night. We cannot stop raving about how delicious every dish was. This was our first time hosting an in home dining experience. But after last night I can confidently say it wont be our last. We look forward to having Chef in our home again soon!

Whoa!! We just had the Chef Taka Watanabe Sushi Take-out/Delivery Catering Business (associated with his Ju Hachi Restaurant) do some sushi for us. We ordered the Large Omakase Platter and some of his specialty items. This COVID 19 stay at home service is brand new. Check out his webpage for details: https://cheftakawatanabe.com/. The sushi was delivered right on time, fresh and delicious, just as ordered. Service on the order was handled by Susan and everything went just as planned for a small family party. Here are a few pics. All you have to do is have some cold sake in the refer and wait patiently until it's delivered. We wished that the Omakase would have had more nigiri sushi but for the American style rolled sushi lovers, you get plenty of it. We give it thumbs up and say "Give it a Go."

Ordering from Chef Taka Watanabe was very easy and simple. The menu is available online on their website. You send in your order to their email address. They ask for delivery details and then send over an invoice. Being able to pay via Venmo and Apple Pay is great, very convenient for everyone. They post their delivery locations on Instagram. Since they're delivering to multiple places, their delivery window can be vary.The order limit is $50. I got the small omakase with nigiri. The omakase had 3 special rolls and 6 pieces of nigiri. The rolls that came with mine were Ziggy Roll, Shelly Roll, and Rainbow Roll. The roll selection and nigiri selection were chef's choice. I think the rolls selected were yummy and provided a good variety of taste and textures. The Shelly Roll was my favorite roll! The tempura and shrimp on top were delicious. The nigiri pieces were very generous with the fish and toppings of fresh wasabi and red onion. The fresh wasabi was a wonderful surprise and not expected. For sides, I got deep fried vegetable gyoza and sunomono salad. Both were great compliments to the omakase platter.For future orders, I think writing the roll names and fish selections on the order would be a nice touch. I played a bit of detective to determine which roll was which. Though, I do love surprises!

The freshest sushi delivered to your door. Granted, it's certain areas - but if they don't deliver to yours - pick it up at Fair Oaks Brew Pub on Friday afternoons at 2 pm. Might just stay and have a nice cool beer on their patio! We love Taka's Chirashizushi over Sunomo salad. SO GOOD! I'm sure there are other good things, but I can't seem to get beyond this dish!

Ever since the lock down we have been ordering sushi every Wednesday. It is absolutely the freshest, most delish sushi I have had. Sounds extreme but true. You submit your order online on Monday for the week. He then goes and buys the fish. How fresh is that. He then delivers to different neighborhoods on different days of the week. Not only do I want to keep him in business but it is sooo good and fresh.

Chef Taka and his son's catered my husband's 40th birthday party. We had a party of 20ish people and they were AMAZING!!! My guests were RAVING about the food. From start to finish the experience with the Watanabe family was OUTSTANDING! The booking process was seamless. The food was incredible - fish was really fresh and everything tasted heavenly. They were on point with their service, the food kept coming out in a very timely and efficient manner. There were never any gaps where we were waiting for food. They were great at keeping pace with all the guests. Chef Taka and his son's were incredibly professional and friendly. I would hire them again and again in a heartbeat!!! Thank you!!!!

Fresh fresh fresh fresh fresh!!!! And delicious beyond belief! We order this sushi ever since I saw his article in the Sac Bee-what a find! We are hooked, and cannot ever see anything on our dinner table but sushi from Chef Taka!They deliver, so happily, and supporting this business through covid has been a win win! The menu is broad, so many new rolls, you can have any roll wrapped in cucumber if you are a Keto person-and the special sauces have become a favorite! I can not say enough about the service, delivery, and just plain making it work during covid resiliance! Just order the sushi-you will see what I am talking about! thank you chef!!
