Charly’s Super Tortas Chilangas

Monster Torta's is more like it!Every kind of combination you can imagine, or if you are extra creative, make your own!The onsite parking is limited and tight.Pro Tip: park next door :)I was a bit overwhelmed with the amazing choices.Milanese is on just about every house combination with choices from chorizo, ham, hot dog, bacon, breaded steak.I really liked the salsa bar, huge and chilled cold.My go to favorite is the picked red onions and habanero slices.I got the Al Pastor with everything they normally would add, avocado and sliced jalapeño.The meat amount was a lot, but did not strike me as super. I think I will come back and try the Milanese house specials.The salsa bar alone has me wanting to come back!

Feeling mixed emotions after my first visit to Charly's food truck. Let's get into it..Ambiance - I went to the food truck located in Lathrop Food Truck Plaza, so I can't speak to the restaurant. Service - The lady who took my order was very nice. I wasn't sure what type of torta I should get since I'm new to the torta game, and she said their most popular choice was the Torta Cubana. So with that said, that's what I got. She said it would be 5 minutes and I went off to order some food for my wife and by the time I got back, my order was ready to go. Very smooth process!Food - This torta was massive. It came with ham, breaded steak, wieners (teehee), cheeses, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and avocado. It was A LOT. It was tasty, but it almost felt like too much. Too many things were fighting for my tastebud's attention. For the price you pay, you get a very good value. I paid $13 for a torta at my favorite taco truck and it was maybe half the size of this sucker. Because of all the toppings, it also made it hard to eat. The bottom bread was soggy because of the tomatoes and made it almost impossible to pick up and bite. It became a fork and knife operation. The tastes were all good, but it was those little things that prevented it from being truly great. I would think putting the tomatoes at the top would prevent that from happening in the future. Overall, I did enjoy my torta cubana and would definitely go back to Charly's again to try different options. If you want a great bang for your buck, the torta cubana is definitely for you!

The food is really good. I love the micheladas they are fantastic and it is always so colorful and decorated inside. Small parking lot, bathroom was clean. My go to spot when I visit Stockton. 10/10 recommendation, if you are traveling stop by, very authentic and good quality food and portions.

I think I'm crazy or everyone else is haha. Most of the reviews are saying the tortas are great. I think they are just average nothing special. Big ass tortas that's for sure but I rather take quality over quantity. I took mine to go and pulled over on Filbert St to eat. That's like a 2min drive, by the time I took it out of the box the meat was mildly warm-almost cold. One employee walked out no greeting no smile looked miserable so EF him. The cashier I thought was a mannequin lol I wouldn't play poker with her. I got a friendlier vibe from some outside worker working on what looked like some flooring repairs. Maybe they are being held against their will and being forced to work there?? FBI please investigate lol The salsa bar items were all dried up looked like it been sitting there for couple of days def not fresh.Maybe it was an off day were everything was just bad hey I get it, it happens.

10/10 all across the board. We typically visit Charly's at the Lathrop food plaza but we were in Stockton and wanted to try the sit down location. We order the Torta Cubana and a side order of fries. For dessert we ordered a strawberry shake. Everything was delicious! So happy we got to visit this location. Thank you Team Charly's!

Ok this is the 3rd time I've tried this place!!! Omg the torta sandwiches are the bomb!!! Service is always good and it's a small place so not much ambiance but it's good enough!! The tacos and burritos are great !! They have other stuff that looks good but still trying everything and I will !!! I'll put up a couple of pics !! Check this place out soon!!! The Stockton place on east Fremont street is the best one!! The trucks are good but this place is the best!!!The deliciousa is my favorite torta!! Omg !! Great!!

We were on the 99 and stopped at this little restaurant that was right off the fwy. Their menu is huge. We had a pambazo and the deliciosa torta. It was good. We asked that they add carne asada to the pambazo and they didn't, so it was just a bean and chorizo torta thing. It was good, but it needed some meat. The pambazo is a torta that has the bread dipped in a red sauce and then placed on the grill. The torta deliciosa had probably the better of the two since it had asada, ham, bacon. Next time I'm in the area I'll probably keep driving and find a different spot to try. I wish that these locations stopped using pine sol to clean. That's all I can smell in here.
