A great local shop Ryan is really knowledgeable about the local fishing and the products he carries they have frozen bait as well as live minnows in the back it's convenient to have such a good shop in our neighborhood with good people ..Definitely recommend you stop in and see Ryan at Central Valley bait and tackle

I went to this shop and was really surprised that they have live minnows. I think this is the only spot in Modesto that carries them. They have live worms and also frozen. I like the fact they have a rewards program when you buy items it builds up points If I can remember up to 500 you get 15 percent off on your next purchase. I did see law enforcement or veteran gets a discount too. I like that they carry spinning reels and bait casters. They also carry Dobyns rods and Phenix rods too. Im sure glad I don't have to travel to bass pro shop any more.

Ryan greeted us as we walked in with a smile and a warm greeting, you can totally tell he has a lot of passion for fishing and what he does. He was able to help us with choosing the best bait to use in this area, hooked us up with licenses and was able to recommend a couple of fishing spots to continue to celebrate my son's 22nd birthday! This place is the best- Please read! This place is a must visit!! I was helped by Ryan who is one of the coolest business owners I've ever met. I'm a beginner fisherman and only fished for trout my entire life. I came in with a bait caster that was pretty back lashed and birds nested. Ryan sat there and untangled it. Not only that- he probably answered over 30 questions I had. He also showed me how to set up a couple of rods that I didn't even buy from him that I just brought in. Then he walked me around the store and showed me different soft plastics and lures to throw. I ended up buying a fishing license, spinning combo, a reel, and some bait and tackle. Ryan spent over two hours helping me as I was trying to be nice and let people cut in front of me. During this time he explained different soft plastics to me, and he showed me how to set up a wacky rig and a Texas rig. I couldn't recommend this store more! I'd give 100 stars if I could. I drove about 50 minutes to get there as I live in Merced and I will absolutely be back again! Thanks Ryan and CV bait and tackle!! I owe you!
