Castle Oaks Golf Club

The last time I've been here was probably 20 years ago. The course itself was okay...not the best maintained. We are in the middle of a months long heatwave and yet some parts of the course are flooded and muddy. The bunkers are inconsistent as some are sandy and others are hardpan. There are a few weird gimmicky holes but nothing stands out that are amazing or gorgeous. Pin placement on some of the holes was dumb. No way I had a shot at the hole. Had to putt onto the rough just to putt it back up the green. The 18th however was one of the most fun I've had. This course rewards straight hitters and punishes higher handicap players. Driving through neighborhoods is a little weird, but that's how Castle Oaks is. Snack shack service could have been better. I know she's trying her best probably. I'm not asking to be treated like a king. I just don't like getting treated like an annoyance. This course is closest to my house, so I'll likely come play again, but I'm not sure how often or who's going to come play with me

I really love the golf course, live right across it actually! The golf course itself is beautiful, But the food could be better.

This by far, is the most over priced shit hole of a golf course that I've ever golfed at. $72 for burnt out greens (city has a water issue), disgusting scum filled ponds, and tee boxes that are trash. Played on a Sunday morning and did not even see one golf Marshall or beverage cart. I was not given the code for the locked keypad restrooms upon check in so it is what it is what it is (I'm sure the local community appreciates your lack of service). It's funny that I played here 5 years ago and the same exact hazards in play of the course are still there! Prices go way up and product goes way down. Discounts if you're a local and pay trash member fees because this is the only place within miles to play a round. Range balls are a joke!!! Honestly it's pathetic

Castle Oaks Golf Course never disappoints! The course is in fantastic shape, with well-maintained greens and fairways that make each round enjoyable. The staff here is top-notch--knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready to assist with anything you need. If you're looking for a course that offers a great challenge, Castle Oaks is the place to be. I highly recommend it for golfers of all skill levels!

Disappointed with my recent experience at Castle Oaks. The trash cans throughout the course were overflowing, which was unpleasant and gave the course a neglected feel. There was a packed frost delay, which is understandable, but the course management didn't seem prepared, leading to slow foursomes backing up the pace of play. To top it off, the bathrooms were closed at 4:30 PM, even though most golfers were still finishing up their rounds. Basic amenities and organization need improvement this was not the experience I was expecting especially for the price, paying earlier rates and having to start an hour later than paid for.

Food was good and service was amazing! Also got a side salad which was good, will come back for sure. Emma is a top notch server!

It's a hard course, but the greens are trashed. They obviously don't put much back into taking care of this place, or they just don't get the business to pay for it. it's definitely better than one star, but I think their rating is way to high.

Very disappointed with the service at this golf course. could not get on until 2 when we asked for a tee time at 10. After 1 hour of no one even going on the tee box, we asked to go out and we were still not allowed. We went on the green to putt and chip in the mean time, when the same guy from the pro shops tells us to stop chipping and fix all of our divots... The sad thing is we made no divots. Felt like we were being targeted because he only came up to us and not the people next to us who were also chipping. They recently changed their management and the place has just gotten so much worse its sad. Very upset with this golf course a way better alternative is Rancho Cordova. Just one thing is the driving range never being open and still paying for a membership. I pay over 50$ a month and the range is never open.

My wife and I have visited Castle Oaks for breakfast and lunch on several occasions, the meals have always been delicious, the service was prompt and the staff are welcoming and professional.

By far the worst maintained course I've played in a very long time, and considering the price, don't even fucking bother. The fairways were fuzzy and muddy, the greens are full of burnt out spots, mud spots, and don't look like they've been mown in like 3 days and we played on a Saturday.I wouldn't bother playing here again even if it were free. Please don't support this kind of shitty course management, and hope they fire their superintendent and hire someone competent. The course clearly has potential to be very nice, and it's just being wasted.
