Carnitas El Rincón

This review takes me on a rollercoaster! I found this location on Yelp and wanted to try them, but when I arrived the location looked abandoned. If you find yourself in the same situation, in the parking lot facing their sign over a vacant looking spot in the strip mall, simply turn yourself about 200 degrees to the right and you will see a stand alone restaurant that also has their sign. Apparently they have moved from the location they show on maps but all you have to do is walk across the parking lot and you are there. That was my first drop and then rise. The food is very reasonably price for the portion size so I was incredibly excited to try it and, as the name states, the only meat they offer is carnitas, so it makes your choices very easy! I ordered a burrito and received a hefty one and happily headed home on a high. The low then came when I arrived home and opened my burrito and began eating... It was bland and dry and even after multiple bites I could not find any avocado or sour cream as promised. Also, when I say bland, I mean I couldn't even taste salt. Being discouraged, I rummaged through the bad and found some salsa! Yay. We were back on top. They had three small sample options but the only one I liked was the green salsa; it had a nice flavor and a steady eat through and through. I poured on the green salsa and kept eating. The burrito was much improved. Then I bit down on something hard, which is always unpleasant and it was that hard little nodule on the outside of the avocado that must have slipped in. That really put me on a downturn but not as much as the hair I found in the next bite. I did not finish my burrito as I wasn't in the mood for a treasure hunt and did not want to see what else might be lurking. I also never really found any sour cream or avocado...maybe a hint but I can't be sure. Still, I was full. See what I said when I told you it was a roller-coaster?Anyway, here is my rationale for 3 stars. This seems to be a small business and I really felt the value was good. That is important these days. Also, although the burrito was bland, what I appreciate about that is that anyone could eat it and those who want more flavor can always add something in. Lastly, I am disgusted with finding things in my food as anyone would be but it is possible that was a fluke. I would be willing to give them another try...someday and I would actually suggest them to anyone who is very hingry and short on cash.

Costumer services was great right off the bat sweet lady very welcoming she tried to explain to me how their tortillas were not made from scratch, but I don't think she realizes how many restaurants sell terrible food. I ordered 3 carnitas mixtas tacos is a mixture of pork rinds and carnitas for $12. Tacos were spectacular soft meat and very flavorful but their creamy habanero salsa is out of this world maaannn it definitely took my tacos to another level.I even bought salsa to take home putting that on everything. The atmosphere/ambiance could need some help it was awkwardly quiet maybe some music would be nice.

I decided to return here to get a super carnita burrito. I must say, it was not as good as the first time. I paid more to get cheese, guacamole and sour cream in it and there was no trace of that in my super burrito! Just meat, rice and beans. I ordered "to go" so I could not show them unfortunately. Also, the carnita meat had large pieces of fat chopped up into my burrito. Like filllers.I am disappointed. For $10, there are other taquerias who provide you with what you expect.Stick to ordering tacos here. It seems to be their popular item.

Went by this morn .. ordered their #1 combo . Beans , rice .. and mixed carnitas. I usually go to Stockton's location but I was in Lodi . I will still to the Stockton location. Customer service was mid , it took forever for the order and it was 10 am and i didn't get a mix of carnitas , beans and rice were mid . The Stockton location is off the 99 on Waterloo road . Tastes way better and these ladies are nice and fast and efficient. I'll stick to that location.

Ordered 2lbs worth of carnitas. I was not disappointed for what I'm used to getting in Lodi. The cueritos and buche were so soft and flavorful. Even re-heated they were amazing. If you have a carnitas craving check them out. Guaranteed to no disappointment.

This place is fire. They do carnitas here. Very good carnitas (meat only or mixed). Another person had commented there was "fat" in the meat. They got the mixed. This is common with carnitas.The beans and rice are fresh. The tortillas are above average. Love this place. Great salsas and chicharons. They also have fresh lard.Oh and the family meals are a great deal. P

I've been on this earth for a very long time and I gotta say the food here is excellent as well as the service. They never disappoint. The serving size is a lot. I'm happy to call this place. My favorite Carnitas ever!

Carnitas, buche, cueritos muy delicioso pero el menudo estaba muy duro, lo tuve que hervir más en mi casa. Las últimas 3 veses que eh venido en domingo se tardan demasiado y no ay más de 2 mesas con gente comiendo ahí. Aparte no solo se equivocaron con mi orden sino con la de más gente que ordena para llevar y para comer ahí. No cobran bien por que más de una ves escuche que decían no te cobre esto y tienes que volver a pagar y aparte esperar más tiempo a que te den lo que no te cobraron. Normalmente no dejo reviews pero espero que esto ayude para que agan algunos cambios.
