Carnitas del Bajio

Finally found an awesome legit Mexican place in San Joaquin Valley here in Patterson. They specialize in Carnitas and it was delicious! Ordered it in tacos and in a quesadilla for the kids. Also tried chicken tacos (surprisingly flavorful), al pastor, and asada - all wonderfully good. The red salsa that came with the tacos was great and builds up to a super spicy level so needed to take a break every now and then.There's a regularly busy crowd here of locals in an unassuming little shopping area. They also have a few other locations so a good record of success. Very reasonable prices unlike a lot of other overpriced restaurants with similar but sadly less yummy food.Must visit this restaurant again! Fortunately, we found this place on Yelp driving back from visiting Dos Rios, California's newest state park located in Modesto.

We have stopped here twice now on our lengthy journey to Lake Tahoe where there are limited options along the way. The carnitas tacos are delicious and so is the salsa! They have different combos or you can order a la carte. The first time i tried the carne asada but the carnitas is definitely the best (hence the name!). I also noticed there are multiple locations which will make future road trips much easier in terms of food options!

Got a super burrito. Not bad but could use a salsa to take it to a level where I'd wanna put this in rotation. Might try again and see if they have sides of salsa. Nice crew pretty good service.

WOW! Stopped in yesterday with a friend for a late breakfast/early lunch. WOW... Felt like Oprah when she interviewed Drew Brees after his Superbowl win with how many wows I said (right before she tried to rub off his birthmark on his face.) Ordered a breafast burrito with carnitas and a plate of chicken nachos. I see why this place is known for their carnitas and I am kicking myself for not stopping in sooner. I live just minutes away and drive past Carnitas Del Bajio weekly. Special ordered the burrito with no guac and no pico, they were kind enough to put it on the side. Shared the plates with my friend. They served it to us already cut in half. The carnitas was SO tender and flavorful. A good size serving in our burrito. The nachos were good as well. I loved the seasoning on their chicken. Came home bragging to my husband how great the food was and will be going back soon.Dining room was busy (which I took as a good sign.) Large coolers with many different sodas, water or jarritos for sale. We grabbed a couple of diet cokes, they were nice and cold.Service was friendly and I was pleasantly surprised with the experience.

We are truck drivers and was hungry. We actually looked up and were attempting another restaurant that was down by city hall but when we pulled up it was boarded up and closed and so we remembered seeing CARNITAS del BAJiO in route and decided to pull up!! We are sooo glad we did!! The environment was clean and simple and friendly... We were simply gonna grab n go but once ordered it was only wise to sit relax and enjoy the experience!! The staff was so pleasant and kind and allowed me to sample the chips to see if I wanted the bay chi's before I decided and the chiarons (incorrect spelling I'm sure) were AMAZING.... We ordered more than we could consume but trust we can't wait to eat leftovers!!!

This is my second time eating their carnitas. The first time my nephew brought me some and asked him where he got them from. Carnitas del Bajio. I told him these were the best I have ever had. Today my wife and I took the 45min drive to get some, and let me tell you they did not disappoint. The restaurant had plenty of room to sit there and dine, and the staff were very helpful in helping me order since it was my first time there. I order carnitas costillas buche and cueritos, it came with rice, beans, tortilla, two diferent hot sauce and the othe toppings. I couldn't wait to get home, and like I said they did not disappoint. The carnitas were tender fell off the bone, the buche sweet and tender and the cueritos were not soggy just perfect, just add some lime a little hot sauce and a little salt, perfect for snacking on.

The food is delicious! The carnitas are tender, juicy, and very flavorful. The cuerito and buche (iykyk) are delicious. Even the chicken fajitas, which I'm normally not a fan of, were flavorful. And that guacamole! It was perfect! I recommend everyone go visit this taqueria for the best carnitas I've had in the area.

I bought a take out order and every one that had the carnitas, buche and cueritos were impressed of how delicious and authentic the flavor is. We made a botana with tomatoes and onions. My family is from the Brentwood area and they said they haven't had any carnitas, buche or cueritos this delicious. It is worth the drive if you don't live in Patterson. I recommend it.

Absolutely delicious Mexican food . We had Carnitas del Bajío cater at work today. The food is fresh and delicious! You have to check it out ! Totally worth a drive . You will not be disappointed.
