The family who owns this ranch is very friendly. They treat my horses very well, they feed them and keep the stalls clean. I am so glad very moved them here.

I boarded here for a year and half with 13 to 24 horses at one time. Owner of the place does the bare minimal of boarding services for $675 a box stall and $775 for stall paddock. The stall paddock I had a horse in flooded and owner didn't do anything to fix it. I caught the owner several times missing horses in feedings. He will say you get one flake of hay twice a day but that one flake is less than 5 inches and he will pull a flake apart and call it a flake. I paid for a couple of horses to have extra flake for am and pm feeding but since he says whatever falls off the bale is a flake, you aren't getting the same every feeding so it was pointless to pay for the extra flake. My horses lost a lot of weight and I've never walked into a barn where all the horses would nicker at you for food. Owner would wait for us to leave too before feeding. He once said to my husband, I was hoping you guys would leave so I didn't have to feed. That's not what a boarder wants to hear. The cleaning stalls doesn't start til 11am and there are a ton of flies. Stall cleaner lives on site, you'd think this sort of thing would be done sooner in the morning. I wish there were reviews about this place before moving in. I have talked to a lot of people in the east bay who have had the same thing happen to them. No management and they don't care about your horse. I've had horses for 37 years. This is by far the worse horse boarding place in the Bay Area. Be aware. Not recommend.

I've been boarding at Canyon Creek for only two months, give or take, but they do everything a good barn is supposed to: clean and feed.My horse has put on weight since being at our previous facility, and now she has more energy, performing so much better.CC has 5 turn-outs and a hot walker, so there's no more waiting in line or standing around or playing tag team to try and get a spot in the turn out. The management is extremely accommodating and easy to talk to. CC is sort of a "mom and pops" run facility, and makes you feel safe and comfortable--a home away from home. My favorite part about CC are the luxurious stalls. My horse practically has a Tempurpedic mattress in her stall because the shavings are so nice! The indoor arena has mirrors on both the short sides and has ventilation system that keeps the arena cool on hot days. The outdoor arena is big and gives a good view of the landscape, and best of all its quiet. I'm happy, my horse is happy, my friends are happy, my trainer is happy.Come check it out!

My grandkids are taking riding lessons. The horses they use for kids are so gentle. For parents wanting to get their kids from behind that laptop, this is the place to go. They learn the fundamentals of caring, feeding and riding. Differently recommend. Michele Sims is the trainer.

My daughter has been taking lessons from Helen for over half a year. Her skill has improved tremendously since then. As an excellent rider, Helen knows how to handle various horses, even the most difficult ones. She transfers the skill to my daughter during her lessons. She designs her lessons to fit each individual student's needs, encouraing my daughter to do her best without pushing her over the limit. My daughter has so much fun riding with Helen. She absolutely loves Canyon Creek Training!
