Geoffrey R. "From the very beginning the customer service was phenomenal. We had so many questions about the rafting tour and the employee answered all of them without any hesitation and provided so much insightful info to help us decide if our entire party of 9 would all be willing to commit since the age ranged from 60 to 12 years old. The Merced was fast flowing and rated a level 4 which gave some of our party a little worry. But as we arrived, we were geared with wetsuits, sweaters, helmets, basically everything you needed to feel safe and comfortable. Our tour guide Chad was very nice, informative, and an experienced rafter. He made the entire trip enjoyable and safe. If you're looking to book a rafting trip I'd recommend this company which I believe also operates under zephyr. For $50 dollars more you can get usb drive of your entire 5 mile rafting tour."

Roshini C. "Love, love, love, love, LOVE this rafting company. They have experienced, friendly guides, quality rafts and equipment and a great setup overall...if u book a rafting trip with this company get ready for a memorable experience. My husband and I have gone on three different trips with All Outdoor's- middle fork American river, Tuolumne river and the most recent being Kaweah river. The Kaweah river rafting experienceWe have had an exceptional time on every trip but Kaweah was my favorite one. It is very technical and has a variety of Class II, III, IV Rapids spread out through the entire 4 hour rafting trip, so you are on your toe's the entire day.LunchAround mid day they stop at a restaurant for lunch. Food the restaurant has to offer is meh- mostly burgers and French fries. Usually on most other trips All Outdoors plans, we stop on an embankment where the guides proceed to make us fresh guacamole, bomb salsa and delicious sandwiches. However this river does not have any public land along its banks so the only option is to stop at a local burger joint for a burger and fries. It's not bad and u will be hungry enough to scarf the food down without hesitation.SafetyAlso, this was the first trip on which I fell out of the raft because I took too long to respond to the guides command to get down in the raft. Thanks to all the clear concise instruction given before each rapid on what to do if we were to fall out of the raft, I knew exactly what to do and did not panic. Guides all around were quick to provide me with instruction on where to swim to in order to safely get to shore and be picked up by my raft. Unique experience this river offersAlso on this river there is a spot where there are some flat granite rocks where the guides bank the raft and allow individuals to slide down the rocks and get the feel of the river currents. It's pretty dang cool so don't be a sissy and make sure you slide down the rock! PaymentFinally, we had a group of 9 people book this trip. My husband and I were the organizers. When we talked to All Outdoors about our party and the booking, they not only provided us with a discount but they also had it set up so each person punched in a code that added them to our reservation and allowed each individual to pay for their own rafting trip. Only downside of the tripThey didn't have a professional photographer for this trip like the other rafting trips we've had with them. So unfortunately we did not get any photographs. So please make sure u plan ahead and buy a waterproof case for your phone or camera and take lots of pics.In conclusionOther than that, I'd like to give a quick shout out to All Outdoor's owners and river guides to thank you all for a wonderful experience."

It was a really good kayak brand new good quality and very comfortable. They also went and got me some water because I forgot to bring mine!I crossed over to the other side of the lake and pulled up the kayak and had breakfast on the bank under a tree. Then I kayaked around, saw the boats and the shoreline to complete my four hour half-day tripI feel it was really good value and I would do this again anytime and recommend otjers to kayak on this beautiful lake with this amazing service !"

Juan T. "It has always been an item on my bucket list to see bioluminescent plankton. However I held very little hope of ever seeing it because it was my understanding that you never know when or where it'll ever appear. So when my wife mentioned that Napa Valley Paddle was doing a guided kayak tour though bioluminescent waters in Tomales Bay I had no choice but to book a trip.I've been kayaking exactly twice before and both times on lakes in broad daylight. So I was a little nervous about kayaking in a salt water bay in the dark. Hopefully the water is smooth and it doesn't get too choppy for my wife and I.Also, I had low expectations, maybe the plankton won't be there that night, and if it is, it's probably a very subtle glow that you almost have to use your imagination to see. When we arrived we found ourselves in a parking lot at the Miller Boat Launch in Marshall. We got some basic instructions on kayaking, given life vests and whistles and headlamps set to red light to wear backwards. It was all pretty laid back and chill. As the sun went away and the fog came in we paddled out to Hog Island and by the time we were close to it, it was dark enough that some people were beginning to see the water light up. Fortunately the water was very calm and it was comforting to see all the red headlamps on the water to guide us on our way. We paddked clear across the bay to the other side where there were cliffs making the water especially dark there. This is where we turned off all of our lights. There was no subtlety at all, it was nothing less than magical. The water lit up with every paddle and every splash. It was a smooth blue glow in the dark with occasional spatks mixed in. We spent a good while paddling around and splashing and generally bring awed by the trippy water. Then it was time to start heading back, the goal was to paddle around the other side of Hog Island where the water is also very fun to look at. However the water glowed the whole way there even.Unfortunately this is also when conditions changed. We had a nasty headwind and the water got choppy. We were seriously worried we might capsize as we paddled like crazy to get to the island again. When we finally got there, we were done. We just wanted was to get back to the car and go home and drink hot coacoa. So we kept on paddling as hard as we could while we struggled to keep the kayak heading in the right direction.People were starting to scatter and soon the only lights to follow were at the boat launch we came from. Whether that actually was the boat launch was debatable but it was the only indication of civilization so we kept heading in that direction. Maybe it was because we were heavier than anyone else or perhaps we just couldn't paddle very well but we lagged behind in the dark. To make things even more interesting the conditions continued to worsen. We had to fight the wind and the choppy water harder as we made that last leg of the paddle back to shore.Fortunately the lights we were aiming for did happen to be where we needed to land and although we missed the dock we did get to shore soaked but not dreched and we managed to actually make it without going into the drink.Needless to say, it became an adventure however no one could have predicted conditions would change like they did. Apparently under typical conditions we would have had a tail wind and that part of the trip should have been the easy part.A professional paddle boarder who was with our group told us those conditions were "insane" and it was not something she would have willingly attempted unless it was over a short distance in daylight. So we feel better about ourselves having a hard time making it back.I'm very glad we did this, it's a beautiful memory, and a great story to tell, and I highly recommend going."

Stephanie L. "Had a great time here this weekend. Only took 2 hours and 15 minutes to get here, the 2.5 mile dirt road was not nearly as bad as others reviewing would have me believe. Have a Subaru forester - not a huge clearance vehicle and was just fine.We got here Friday about 2:30pm - first ones here. It was overcast and perfect temperature. Very dry. Gorgeous river. Sites 1, 2, 3 leave a bit to be desired - small and/or on top of each other, 5 is small but pretty and overlooks a big parking area used for day rafter parking. We chose 4 - open, big and with a large live oak for shade. All sites were "on" the river. Bathrooms were very clean and the sites were too, with the exception of an enormous amount of cigarette butts. My friend's back was a bit hurt, so we didn't do a bunch of hiking - and I'm glad for that because Saturday was 80+ and very dry. Walked about 1.5 miles up the dirt road looking for the "waterfall" - we saw some runoff from the hills into the water - perhaps that was it. Regardless, it was a nice walk and very pretty.Odd about this campsite: both nights we had visitors who came after dark and left before morning. The first was just a couple who stayed for a few hours in site 5 - and didn't bother us. The second night, we had visitors at the site right next to us. They arrived at 8pm, two very small crying children in tow. They opened and closed their vehicle doors about a gazillion times, set up a tent, used their car headlights at their "lamp" and started blaring rap music. Uh uh! Friend marched over and very kindly asked them to lower the music. They did. Then they proceeded to burn brush as their firewood and when we got up at 7am, they had cleared out, leaving a bunch of trash at their site. Odd.The park service representative was uber nice and came every day - we never did see the ranger. We loved this place and would definitely come back to do some trail hiking when feeling more physically able."

Bridget W. "Willow Creek is a fantastic place to launch your kayak or SUP and is the halfway mark along the length of Lake Natoma. It's a much smaller access point than Nimbus or Black Miners Bar (formerly Negro Bar) and has considerably less water traffic, likely due to the tiny dock and shallow cove. Larger watercraft, like sailboats, can't launch from here. Parking can be challenging because the lot is so much smaller compared to the other launch points and fills up very early. If you snooze you might lose, so I recommend getting there before 9am on a weekend. If you're launching your kayak or SUP from Willow Creek it's a breeze for staging. You are mere footsteps from the parking lot to the dock, with bathrooms and trash cans also close by.There are two large, covered group picnic areas and also a couple of shaded picnic benches at this recreation area to enjoy your lunch. Or better yet, paddle across from the dock to the island and climb up to the top to have a great panoramic view of Lake Natoma. Don't forget your Golden Poppy Pass to be able to park for free!"

Kara M. "I came here with some friends for a birthday and we had such a blast!! The guides that checked us in at the beginning were kind and informative and got everyone on the shuttle bus right on time. They also were able to tell us some history about the area (the first piece of gold to be found in California that started the Gold Rush in Lotus, the first post office in California) and also kept our car keys safe all day.Once we got to our starting point, we geared up and our guide Sean gave us all the basics. SEAN WAS SO INCREDIBLE THE WHOLE DAY. He was guiding seven women (for some of us, it was our first time) for eight hours and handled it like a champ!! He was incredibly experienced on the American River and told us some really awesome stories about the river & the area. Sean kept us safe while still giving us a thrilling ride down the river. We did the entire upper and lower south fork which took from about 9am until about 3:30 with a quick stop for a small lunch. There were tons of rafts on the water that day but it made no difference to us.My best advice to anyone looking to book is:1) BOOK WITH SEAN! He was so kind and skilled, and made sure we all felt safe and had a great time.2) Bring sunscreen AND water. You aren't allowed to bring anything else on the bus but don't forget sunscreen & water.3) Check the water levels before you book, they can completely change the rapids. 4) Switch sides after lunch! It can be tiring to paddle on the same side all day. 10/10 would recommend Sierra Whitewater, specifically SEAN!, for your rafting delights!"

Ivonnie S. "We had another awesome adventure on the Cherry Creek / Upper Tuolumne 1-day trip last week with All-Outdoors. I highly recommend AO and this trip in particular if you're looking for a fun, adrenaline-filled challenge!+ Cherry Creek is no joke. There are so many exciting rapids along this route, including a good number of Class V rapids. Per AO's description, it's the most challenging commercial river rafting trip in California. Getting thrown out of the raft into a rapid could be especially risky here.+ This was a real workout. Before we got to the big rapids, we had a safety swim test where we had to swim across a small rapid to the other side of the river (to make sure we could swim) and then swim under the raft from one side to the other. These were the least pleasant and most tiring parts of the entire day for me - but I get why they're necessary safety checks, and they boosted my confidence that I could do the same later if I actually fell out of the raft unintentionally. + AO's planning and guide expertise, led by our rafting guides Adam and Horse, along with Joe steering the guide boat in front of us and another raft behind us with more expert paddlers, clearly shone through. We trusted in Horse's and Adam's commands and paddled our hearts out to make it through each rapid as smoothly as possible. When you're getting thrown around in the boat and smacked in the face by waves of water, it's both thrilling and mildly terrifying. We all had a ton of fun. Thanks to our amazing guides, our fellow guest paddler, and the guide boats for their support and for helping us have a wonderful time down Cherry Creek. All-Outdoors continues to be my favorite whitewater rafting outfitter in the area, and I'll be back soon for my 5th trip with them!"

Vicky L. "Came across this kayaking company via instagram and had to check it out. They were offering a full moon guided tour and I wanted in. Prior to excursion, my friends and I had to reserve a spot on their website. The initial tour ended up being fully booked, however, James the guide offered open up another day due to the moon tour being so popular. The meeting area was at the boat launch ramp area. We signed waivers and were given a run down on kayaking 101 (it was our first kayaking excursion) with 4 other people. The weather was warm, the waters were calm and the mosquitoes were biting. So don't forget to apply sunscreen and have plenty of bug repellent! Wear water shoes, bring snacks and water. Also, maybe bring a small fanny pack or water resistant bag to carry small items in.As we paddled, James checked up on everybody and made sure we were all doing okay. Along the way he informed us about the wetlands and what type of wildlife were around. James even provided us with his own bug repellent to use to keep the mosquitoes at bay. Once it was dark enough, we settled in an area of the wetlands to wait for the moon to rise. My friends and I were elated and in awe that we got to see the Harvest moon rise on the hills whilst kayaking. Kodak moment for sure. The journey around Suisun Bay lasted for about 2 hours. It was a cool experience, especially with the moon acting as our guiding light. My arms definitely got in a work out from paddling so much.Overall, great experience, reasonably priced and James was professional and informative. Highly recommend!"

There should be a large sign at the Sonora road that points to check in area. Wish they emailed me the waivers ahead of time so it's easier and quicker check in. The service was nice and I had two people who couldn't come so at least we got credited a voucher to use another time. Make a reservation! They blow up the number of rafts based on reservations per day, so if you try to do a walk in you might have to turn back. Set up:8 max per raft and you get a dry box to put your valuables that can't get wet (phone, keys, etc). There are a few workers to help give life jackets and the safety talk, then after that it's time to get in the river! Rafting:Class I/II perfect for family/children rafting. There are a few rapids but they're manageable. Beware of a lot of branches, so try your best to stay in the middle of the river, and there are no guides on the raft. Stopped at Horeshoe Park for lunch. There are picnic tables and a small firepit/grill. You are allowed to bring coolers but don't make them heavy because they do go on your raft. We packed sandwich ingredients which was cheap and quick set up. Bring a hat and sunblock! Exposed to the sun the whole time. At the end they have a shuttle that brings you back to the check in area.Definitely come back to do the next level with the hubby!"

Our tour guides, Tom and Austin, were two of the most animated and angelic charm-sters; dare-devils (but with precaution) as we had hoped for. They helped run us alongside rocks, steer into deep dips and propel from quick currents (this was a good thing because our trip was never boring). They shared in our jokes and participated in our wonky rituals. I didn't want to leave :(Scheduling was easily completed through phone. Their website has links to all-you-need to pack for your trip. They are quick and prompt in their responses.Lunch was a deli-style buffet, make your own wrap, with jugs of lemonade/water, cookies, pita chips. Delicious meal to have while surrounded by the Tahoe National Forests, little of which is populated with civilians. Bathrooms were upgraded (in my book) porter-potties. Trail mix while we took a break from the Class 3-4's and drifted through the pools. They definitely took care of our bellies and the men when they get grumpy from having empty stomachs ;). They taught us how about the 2 must-do's for water safety and all the necessities for a safe ride in a timely but thorough manner before and while on the raft. They proved to us that they know their stuff.I definitely appreciate their work, and their love for this rafting community truly shines. From the order to being back on the water only took about a week, which was amazing. Even local stores would have taken most of the summer to get this exact kayak for me. Their shipping service (it was being sent from their place in California to me in Maryland) was also a great deal and worked very fast and well. Everything was well-packaged and arrived in perfect condition. Their communication throughout the process has been awesome. We panned for gold here but we found no gold only fools gold, swam, played in the dirt, canoed, and fished. It was a great place to relax and cool down at. This reservoir is big so you can find plenty of places to enjoy the water and nature without feeling crowded. We saw ducks here. We also saw many runers run on the dirt road. The only down side is that there is no restrooms nearby. When coming to this reservoir bring lots of food, water, sunblock, and bait with you."

Adjoining the Promenade is the Waterfront Warehouse. Live music was reverberating off the arena, ballpark and hotel across the channel. Folks were out walking the promenade, dancing to the beat of the Bump City Band in a festive lantern lit patio overlooking the water at Chivita's. Yachts had their neon lights out with martini signs aglow....it's 5 o'clock somewhere I guess! I'd have to say, I'm very proud or our waterfront and Downtown Marina. Lee L. "I'm _finally_ able to write a review for this company, after two years of trying to enjoy a rafting trip on the South Fork of the American River. Our first attempt in 2020 was thwarted by Covid, and our second was canceled due to last year's wildfires and horrible air quality. Thankfully, All-Outdoors was willing to credit us for our trip, and this past Memorial Day weekend we were able to make it up here. And indeed, it was well worth the wait.We came in a group of 3 families, with varying degrees of experience with whitewater rafting. As such, the South Fork was a good starting point, with mostly class 2 rapids and a couple of easy class 3s. We checked in at the AO headquarters in Lotus and got kitted out in wetsuits and life preservers, and then boarded the bus to go to the starting point. There were lots of different outfitters at the put-in point, but the process was orderly and efficient. It was a perfect day for rafting, with clear skies and temperate weather. Our guide, Steve, navigated us expertly down the river, making sure that we got sufficiently soaked whenever possible and keeping us entertained along the way. We learned much about the history and the geology of the area as well floated lazily down the calmer portions of the river. This was definitely a beginner's run, which was right for our group, and though they do give you plenty of crisis training (e.g. what to do if you go overboard), at no point did we ever feel at risk of getting ejected from our raft. After a couple hours we stopped for lunch, and the guides from the three boats on our float cut up watermelon and put out chips and then laid out a generous spread of cold cuts and vegetables for us to make our sandwiches. This was a nice leisurely break, and then we got back into our boats for the short trip down a considerably calmer stretch of river until we reached HQ again. The overall experience was excellent - enough excitement to make it worth it, but also some time for slow drifting and absorbing the beauty of the surroundings. At one point we were passed up by a large flotilla of rafts that seemed to be hurtling downstream, and we were glad that we weren't on one of those express boats. The staff was outstanding and easy to work with, particularly as we struggled to actually make this trip happen. Great attitude and humor; their enthusiasm for their work was evident and made for an especially enjoyable experience. I expect that we'll be back with All Outdoors on some of their more challenging trips."

It's a small walk-in campground... you can't park next to your spot and the parking lot is about 1/4 mile way do we brought a wagon. Most camping spots are pretty close together and some dont have much room for a tent. They have modern bathrooms but no showers. Most people visit for day use to access the river and cookout facilities. The closest grocery stores are 10+ minutes away and once the gates are closed an hour before sunset you can only leave for emergencies because a spike strip prevents anyone from re-entering. So bring what you need because running to the store at 9pm is not an option. The river was slow moving during our mid-August visit & if we return we'll bring our fishing poles and canoe with us.If you don't have a kayak or canoe it's a perfect river to float on a big tractor tube or pool raft in August"

If you don't plan to paddle much, it will take you at least five hours. - Bring lots of sunscreen and keep reapplying. It doesn't feel hot when you're out there being splashed, so you will get burned without it. - Wear water shoes or sandals with straps. You have to walk the raft to the water and the rocks can be slippery and painful. - Try to stay in the middle of the river so you don't run into the tree branches on the side. - Be responsible! Water levels were very low when we went and there weren't many currents, but if you go another time of year it may be more dangerous. Four of us girls rented the raft for 6 people and thought that was the right size. The four person raft seemed small. Parking is $10 per car and the shuttle bus is $10 a person. We went out with Oars rafting and had Brian as our guide. He was very good and I would use him again. We loved our weekend and will return."

Ida H. "I was introduced to this store by my boyfriend who wanted to spark some interest in me to do something fun with my life besides working and taking life too serious. When we went to Lodi Lake for the Paddle Fest a few Saturdays ago, we were able to enjoy some kayaking on the lake by trying out several varieties of kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, and corresponding paddle styles. There was so much to choose from and we were given expert advise from the employees that were waiting on hand to assist visitors. After our afternoon of fun, we drove a short distance to where the Headwaters Kayak Shop was located. The store was jam packed with everything necessary for water fun including the appropriate sports attire! Kayaks were our main focus. They have many styles, colors and sizes to select from to match any individual's preference. Needless to say we found some favorites and put them on our wish list! Now, saving up for these purchases will be another serious goal I will have to strive for!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSQORPN_pls"

Rachel L. "We rented a tandem kayak with a Groupon on our ten-year wedding anniversary. Our guide, Justin, was very responsive when making and confirming our reservation and greeted us with a warm Happy Anniversary on the morning of our kayak trip. He was very knowledgeable of the area, and pointed out facts about the wildlife we might see on our adventure. He recommended routes to take, gave us some info regarding the equipment, and sent us on our way. I appreciated his keeping an eye on us as we kayaked down the river for safety's sake, while also allowing us to have our romantic alone-time. The river was very serene, and we saw a wealth of different birds. Justin did point out some homeless setting up residence underneath one of the bridges, but assured us that they were harmless. We appreciated the reassurance. We would certainly rent kayaks from this company again!"

Michael W. "Cronan Ranch Trails Park became a very busy trail for all the people wanted to have some exercise or just some fresh air. Many families come with their kids or their dogs. The main trail in the park is so wide and makes it easy to have the social distance. When we are there at around 11 am. The parking lot is completely full. We have to park our car on the side of the road. The trails are very easy and comfortable. Good for the whole family, any age with or without your dogs. So many kids with their families walking and they are happy. One of the good thing about this COVID-19 situation is it help families close together!"
