"Took my car to Den's Auto for an oil change so I took a walk around downtown to kill some time. Fortunately, on my walk I came across Above the Brim. They have a variety of hats to select from and they are very affordable. I was lucky enough to stop by while they were having their sidewalk sale. The gentleman (Like a dummy, I didn't ask for his name) who helped me was very friendly and even recommended a deli and barber shop for me to check out the next time I'm downtown. I'll be going back again."

"Stocked-to-the-gills little thrift store, with some of everything small: clothing, costume jewelry, housewares, health and beauty stock, craft supplies, and cute decor. The cute stuff and clothing were both genuinely cute -- if I were a young person in the Sacramento metro, equipping an apartment on the cheap, I'd definitely have this shop in my regular weekend loop. Prices were great!Some categories, like craft supplies, require rummaging through tightly packed drawers, so you're going to be here a while if you're serious about shopping. This store is not heated: dress for the outdoor weather. I did not see fitting rooms for trying on clothing, but in 2023, does anyone use those any more?The rest of Herald is basically a convenience store and a tack shop, so take that into account when scheduling a stop. Combine this one with either a loop of thrifts in Lodi or Galt, or a trip to the Sierra foothills."

"I like this place a lot. I come here for a few reasons. I still rock Dickies and plain color shirts. They have them both here. The staff is very friendly and will stop on a drop of dime to help you. The past few times I was in, they did that for me. I didn't really have to say much, I just looked a bit lost while I was looking for my size in shorts area. Then I asked if a certain color looked good on me. The front cashier lady said "No" I like the honesty. Not many people will tell you the truth. It wasn't a fake answer just to get a sale.
