"We luv gyros and more. Ever since Solomon owned it. My hubby and I frequent it a few timea a year now when we are driving from Southern CA to northern ca. Food is always good fresh. Service is always goiod. Atmosphere is welcoming. Want to continue to see them thriving. And want to continue making this our pit stop."
"I was downtown and stumbled across this place tucked on a side street by the courthouse. I love gyros and since gyros is in the name I figured they must be good. The restaurant is clean and inviting. I already knew what I was there for so I didn't have any questions. They are on the pricey side I spent about $17 for the beef gyro combo they also have chicken and lamb but the lamb cost more and I think I paid $1 more for beef. When the gyro was wrapped up it looked a little small but it really was the perfect size for me. The fries were huge and fresh, they don't have fountain drink just canned. The gyro was very delicious and there was the perfect amount of every thing in the gyro, the beef was tender. If I'm around here again I would return."

"Amazing food quality! This guy works hard and produces quality food consistently. It is my go to spot for Mediterranean food in Motown!"
"When the nights get colder, sometimes you just crave a hearty meal. Thankfully, Falafel Flame was able to fulfill that need. This is a mom and pop shop tucked in a corner of a plaza that houses a variety of other small businesses. As it is a shared lot, parking was easy enough. Upon walking in, the restaurant was small, but cozy. Despite this, it seems they've built a reputable place because a good amount of people came and went, whether it was to pick up food or to dine in. We ordered a veggie burger, gyro plate, curly fries, dolma, and two bottled waters. The food came out within 10 minutes and our server/cashier was so nice and hospitable. He made sure to check up on us multiple times and gave us napkins and utensils. Hilariously, he also gave us chlorox wipes for our phones because he noticed us trying to clean the dust off of them, lol!I actually dug into the dolma and curly fries first, because I'm an avid fries girly and also enjoyed how the dolma was presented. My friend said her previous experience eating dolma left her with a mixed impression, but she liked these ones. The fries had a nice crunch to them and were so, so addicting! The burger was delicious, too. The server explained that the sauce that was served with my burger was a unique "cocktail" that had a spicy kick to it. Although I infrequently eat burgers, I always like to deck it out in toppings like onions, pickles, lettuce, etc. when I do. This burger met my expectations, and the sauce the server gave me definitely gave it an extra kick. When you check in on Yelp, you get a coupon for 1 baklava. We went up to claim it, and the server gave us not one but TWO baklava, so we could both try it (My friend isn't a yelper). Talk about amazing generosity and hospitality! I'm a sucker for great food, but I'm an even bigger sucker for great service! I'm super glad we found this place, and you bet we'll be returning for another meal."
"If you want great pizza in Turlock, whether it's your traditional pepperoni or specialty pizza, this is it!! The kabob pizza is our favorite... And the loaded fries too!! Or... my new favorite, the lamb shank dish with the homemade bread!! Great customer service from the staff members and the owners! We love this place!!"
"Met my friend here for dinner last night and sat outside in the cool evening breeze... a lovely gentleman named Eden came out to greet us and made some suggestions for us... as it was my first time, we had a bit of chicken and beef... the appetizer was the hummus, bread and Greek yogurt (which we used on our meat). The chicken was flavorful and had to be my favorite. We also had the baklava, thank goodness it was a small piece... it was GOOD!Eden as well as our server were very attentive and I would recommend eating here and we will be going again!"
"Love love their food! Try their chicken Marsala pasta! Try their gyros! Best Greek food in town!"

This is my second post-pandemic visit. Now I can definitively say it's not as good as it used to be. I miss Solomon and his family. They have gone from the thinner shoestring type fries to the thicker steak fries. I prefer the stick fries. My friend was disappointed in the portion size. He counted just 15 fries, and that was including the abnormally small one in the pile. The gyro itself was good, but nothing special either way.

The food here is authentic Assyrian food! You see several natives coming in to pick up food to go or dine in. This is a classic staple of locals here in the area. Currently, the son owns this business, but it was originally the father who is unfortunately gone on to be with the Lord. This is the epitome of a local business. The ambience is very low-key as all of the dishes are served and to go containers. The owner is also the cook and the cashier so with limited staff help it is easier for them to do disposable plates and napkins. Prices here are very reasonable, and portions are extremely generous! Highly recommend you give this local gem a try, and you will not be disappointed! Parking here is more than sufficient! Noticed all of the five star reviews, and there are hundreds of them! You absolutely can't go wrong coming to this place! My favorite was the Gyro meat! Check out my photos!

So yummy :')) !! So happy to have come here with my family. I ordered the gyro platter and baklava, and also tried the lamb kabab, chicken platter, and gyro wrap. I only ordered one baklava, but they gave us an additional three for my family which was so kind and I really appreciated it :')The gyro platter was so yummy omg, I finished it clean. A generous amount of gyro, and both the tzatziki and hummus were delicious. For the lamb kabab, the lamb was cooked well, and was pretty tender. The chicken platter was really good too, so yum. It was my first time trying baklava and I liked it! It was pretty sweet but not unbearable. Service was really good, and we enjoyed our meal :) All of the portion sizes were pretty good and very nicely presented,, would def come back and I recommend!

Great quality pizza! So good I had to get it 2 days in a row. TRY THE SWEDISH PIZZA! Thought bananas on pizza was crazy. But I kid you not this was one of the best pizzas I've had in my entire life. Staff is super friendly, even called me when my order was ready. Thanks for the amazing pizza!

What a pleasure this little gem was running into. While visiting my son in college we came across this Mediterranean spot. There were two gentlemen inside working this place they looked like brothers, extremely friendly and very welcoming. We sat outside to enjoy the weather and people watch. The food was excellent, very fresh meats and hot. We ordered beef soltani (1 flap meat skewer, 1 ground beef), chicken combo ( 1 chicken skewer and 1 ground beef) that came with rice and hummus for an app. They prepared it family style for us and it was a great presentation. The skewers were large and came with roasted tomatoes and jalapeño with a lime a little bed of red onion and I believe cilantro. The flap meat was everyone's favorite, very tender and fresh, freshness for me is very key and this place nails it. The chicken was also very good, the ground beef was not bad but I will go for chicken and flap meat next time! At the end of the meal the host gave us a couple of pieces of baklava on the house! Will definitely be coming here every time we visit our son.

The chicken pesto pasta was absolutely delicious. I feel like I got so much of it in a single plate. I also like that you compare it with fries or a salad. Our waitress was very attentive, and when my best friend asked her what she liked on the menu she was very informative and gave us different suggestions for the menu. I really like how homey this restaurant feels. It is such a staple in Modesto. This is my second time coming here and whether you're dining with a friend, or with family, you don't feel out of place.

This place is a hidden gem. The pictures here do not do this place justice. From the outside, I thought this place was run down and not a likely place for tasty Italian food. AL CONTRARIO, inside, this place is a very intimate and inviting place! I came in for a pick-up order of coconut shrimp and eggplant parmesan. The server was super nice and engaging. Food was DELICIOUS! I know of few other places that can do eggplant parmesan as well as they do. I also ordered the fettucine alfredo along with the eggplant as delivery on another occasion. Again.....really delicious. I'll have a plan a date night here.

"We were in Riverbank to catch a movie at their IMAX theater and decided to grab a bite after. I looked for restaurants in the area and this little gem popped up. After reading all the reviews we decided to give it a try.So glad we trusted those reviews as the food was so good!! First off, this is a very small restaurant with only about 8 tables inside and a few outside. It's very quaint if on a date, very nice that it is small. The staff is very attentive and was constantly checking on us.We had the crab cakes for an appetizer and they were so good and fresh tasting. They have wonderful rolls, seems like it is the same dough that they use for their pizzas. They were hot, fresh and very light. We both had the chicken parmigiana with red skinned mashed potatoes. They served winter veggies with the meal and everything was so good and flavorful.Again, the staff was very attentive and made sure we had enough rolls and beverages throughout our meal. The wait for our food was reasonable and you could tell it was made fresh. We definitely will be coming back and trying other items from their menu."
"Such a great spot for a nice quaint dinner! Headed there tonight and was not disappointed! The drinks were amazing, food was delicious, service was exceptional and ambiance was romantic. Definitely will be returning!"
"Date night with the wife. I've heard that this restaurant was recently renovated. Indeed it looks very nice, they even added valet parking. Our server, Victoria was so informative and patient since I couldn't make up my mind. I ended up ordering the almond-crusted halibut. It was cooked to perfection, flaky and tasteful. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. All of this topped by a creamy sauce to complete the dish. My wife ordered the prime rib which she enjoyed very much. The meat was tender, juicy and no gristle found. At the end of the meal, we had no room for dessert since we also had the clam chowder soup as an appetizer. Overall this is a great restaurant for a date night or a special occasion. Nice job on the remodel Papapavlo's !"
"Great food and great service. It's quiet with a bar. Street parking available. My daughter loved the shrimp pasta."
"I love Mediterranean food so I was super excited for the opening of this spot. I have been a few times now and while I have enjoyed the things I've tried, it seems that they are often running out of items. The first time they were out of falafel, the second time they were out of tzatziki sauce. Perhaps they were still working out the kinks of a new business. Each time I've tried the pita which in itself is delicious, warm and fluffy. Lemon chicken is flavorful, I only wish it wasn't sitting in a warming pan because sometimes it looks dried out or as though it has been sitting for a while. I do like that they have such a variety of add ons for their wraps, pitas and bowls. Downside, pepsi products...YUCK. Service has been friendly if a little slow, again, it could have been because they were still fairly new. It is counter service with a set-up like Chipotle. The dining area isn't very large although there is some outside seating. I would definitely recommend Hummus Republic if you like this type of food."
"Tried it today and was pleasantly surprised. We usually go to Elk Grove for Nick the Greek but stumbled on this place and we are so glad we did! This will definitely be our new go to!Hubby and I shared the chicken platter and shawarma fries and both were amazing! Plenty of food and the portions are big! I also got aSingle falafel which was amazing and I will definitely order again! We also had their yummy pistachio baklava and their chocolate nut cigar and it was delicious! Price is also very reasonable. Our meal with drink came to only $35!"
"Today I tried their vegetarian pizza, very delicious and unique as well. The service and the friendliness of the staff is excellent. This is my new favorite place to go to."
"Formerly, Sugar Mediterranean Bistro at Trinity Parkway, is now The House of Pita at the Waterfront in downtown Stockton near Nena's. The ambiance was nice sitting out on the patio deck near the water and the food was as good as I remember. They don't have my favorite beef kabob anymore, but everything on the menu sounded delicious, it was hard to decide. We started with the potato skins... yummy! My nieces tried the pasta dishes and pita bowl while I tried the pistachio crusted salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans. The sauce for the salmon was so good and creamy, the owner even brought me a little extra on the side which I dipped the pita bread in. This is a nice place for date night. It's a little pricey for a family with kids and there was no kid menu, but we still enjoyed the food and had wonderful service by the owner. She said they're having a grand opening on Thursday, 9/19/24 at 5pm."
"WoWa WeWa!!! Come here because I told you to! Food is as good as it gets and it's a huge restaurant with a bar. All the food items were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The staff were also nice and pleasant.FYI:Since this place is that good it tends to get packed. Come hungry, but be prepared to wait."
