Nichelle B. "I visited Garré Tasting room on a busy Saturday. The group I was with had outside seating and our server was friendly and accommodating. I love their sparkling and my server told me of their NV Rosé Sparkling that was just as good as the regular sparkling. Their October Tasting Menu consisted of five wines, that included one white and the remaining reds. * 2023 Chardonnay was crisp, and flavorful*2017 Primitivo had a fruity aroma, tannic aftertaste, and tartness*2017 Syrah was smooth and no tannic aftertaste*2018 Touriga was spicy All the wines were enjoyable and I'm not a much of red wine drinker but their reds were balanced and clean, in my opinion. The outdoor setting was accommodating to our large group, with shade and nice decor."

Jen N. "The chicken is incredibly moist and delicious, falafel is good as well. Both are probably the best in the area. Lamb is ok but not worth ordering again. Charge extra for feta/cheese. My go to is chicken shawarma. The ambiance is cold, I prefer to take it to go or eat outside. The food is good but the owner she's so pushy on register sales and she was rude when she knew their ice machine was down for fountain drinks, after i paid she said so sorry no ice ok. I said you knew that but didn't say anything and pushed us upgrade to a soda combos to drink warm soda? She said but it comes with fries so it's fine... seriously it's not. My last visit, she started taking our order and answered the phone we were stuck waiting because she didn't tell them to hold. Poor service."

John K. "What can you say about this restaurant? I mean they've come such a long way from their previous location and we are lucky to have a place like this in Stockton.First, the appetizer menu is phenomenal. You can really turn in the grilled vegetables and hummus into a dinner unto itself. Get a nice glass of wine and save room for dessert and call it an evening.Or, go Greek full throttle and get the flaming cheese appetizer called Saganaki. I'm not going to ruin the surprise, so just order it and dive in, but slowly because you don't want to get burned by the molten hot....For the dinner options, you can't go wrong with the Greek combo plates but this time I went for the fish. The Sole was good but really needed a little something else. Don't get me wrong, I don't know anything about cooking a filet of Sole, but my date ordered the Swordfish. That was a game changer and really made my fish kinda pale in comparison. I highly recommend the Swordfish, along with the potatos and green beans. It was a hefty portion and I didn't leave room for dessert. Another pro tip is that they have bottles of wine at reasonable prices. If you are in a party of 4, I would suggest finding a white or red that you like because they have some nice options on the menu. Also, the desserts are excellent and are worth the extra $, but again that depends on you and your appetite for hunger emancipation.Overall, Papapavlos continues to do right for Stocktonians that love a upscale vibe with quality food served at fair prices."

Debbie D. "When the nights get colder, sometimes you just crave a hearty meal. Thankfully, Falafel Flame was able to fulfill that need. This is a mom and pop shop tucked in a corner of a plaza that houses a variety of other small businesses. As it is a shared lot, parking was easy enough. Upon walking in, the restaurant was small, but cozy. Despite this, it seems they've built a reputable place because a good amount of people came and went, whether it was to pick up food or to dine in. We ordered a veggie burger, gyro plate, curly fries, dolma, and two bottled waters. The food came out within 10 minutes and our server/cashier was so nice and hospitable. He made sure to check up on us multiple times and gave us napkins and utensils. Hilariously, he also gave us chlorox wipes for our phones because he noticed us trying to clean the dust off of them, lol!I actually dug into the dolma and curly fries first, because I'm an avid fries girly and also enjoyed how the dolma was presented. My friend said her previous experience eating dolma left her with a mixed impression, but she liked these ones. The fries had a nice crunch to them and were so, so addicting! The burger was delicious, too. The server explained that the sauce that was served with my burger was a unique "cocktail" that had a spicy kick to it. Although I infrequently eat burgers, I always like to deck it out in toppings like onions, pickles, lettuce, etc. when I do. This burger met my expectations, and the sauce the server gave me definitely gave it an extra kick. When you check in on Yelp, you get a coupon for 1 baklava. We went up to claim it, and the server gave us not one but TWO baklava, so we could both try it (My friend isn't a yelper). Talk about amazing generosity and hospitality! I'm a sucker for great food, but I'm an even bigger sucker for great service! I'm super glad we found this place, and you bet we'll be returning for another meal."

Tomomi S. "Our most favorite Mediterranean restaurant in California. Great food and atmosphere, they never disappoint us. Salad, fish and chicken dishes are amazing but do try their Saganaki Flaming Cheese appetizer! Not only it is dramatic when lit on fire, but the melting hot cheese and the smell will make your mouth water even before you dig into the hot plate. This dish is more than plenty to share for 2 people (we were pretty full after eating this appetizer) but sharing with 4 people will be perfect. Servers are always friendly and cheerful and do ask for the daily special. 1/2 price wine is a wonderful deal as well. I love Papapavlos, and I hope you'll try this place out when you're nearby."

Alissa M. "I love Mediterranean food so I was super excited for the opening of this spot. I have been a few times now and while I have enjoyed the things I've tried, it seems that they are often running out of items. The first time they were out of falafel, the second time they were out of tzatziki sauce. Perhaps they were still working out the kinks of a new business. Each time I've tried the pita which in itself is delicious, warm and fluffy. Lemon chicken is flavorful, I only wish it wasn't sitting in a warming pan because sometimes it looks dried out or as though it has been sitting for a while. I do like that they have such a variety of add ons for their wraps, pitas and bowls. Downside, pepsi products...YUCK. Service has been friendly if a little slow, again, it could have been because they were still fairly new. It is counter service with a set-up like Chipotle. The dining area isn't very large although there is some outside seating. I would definitely recommend Hummus Republic if you like this type of food."

Paolo B. "As someone who is a huge fan of barcades, Joystiq was pretty darn fun. Coming from the Bay Area, I'm always amazed at how much more affordable drinks are. We ordered a draft beer and a Paloma, and the bartender said $16...the Bay Area hasn't seen those type of prices in a decade, but I digress...This venue is huge and heard it gets really packed on weekends. We came before dinner across the street and it was nearly empty which was great because there was no wait for the basketball pop a shot or beer pong tables. The pop a shot is a $1 a game and it's an old school arcade that takes quarters at all the machines. They have a coin dispenser so remember to bring cash. I hadn't played beer pong in years, but safe to say, I still got it. They had two tables setup for use, with all the cups filled with water and ping pong balls to use. I really forgot how much fun I have playing BP, especially after some friendly competition with the gf. Overall, if you are looking for a fun place to play arcade games, drinking games, and affordable drinks, this is a great option in downtown Merced. Good for large groups or a competitive date night."

Jon G. "Yafa Hummus is a pretty good place for Mediterranean style food. They have a somewhat limited menu, but everything is of good quality, and the quality is consistent. Although they are probably the most expensive restaurant for this kind of food in town, their servings are also probably bigger than others. Personally I think their hummus is ok but I prefer the style you find at The Dancing Fox. However their babaganoush is excellent. Customizing your order can be a challenge because their register system doesn't allow you to swap things out unfortunately. That's not to say that it can't be done, just that it's a challenge. My main complaint is that they use bitter herbs instead of lettuce, which wilt when wrapped up with something warm like meat or falafel, and they lack the fresh crunch you get with regular lettuce. Otherwise, the food is good and you won't be disappointed."

The restaurant is clean and inviting. I already knew what I was there for so I didn't have any questions. They are on the pricey side I spent about $17 for the beef gyro combo they also have chicken and lamb but the lamb cost more and I think I paid $1 more for beef. When the gyro was wrapped up it looked a little small but it really was the perfect size for me. The fries were huge and fresh, they don't have fountain drink just canned. The gyro was very delicious and there was the perfect amount of every thing in the gyro, the beef was tender. If I'm around here again I would return."

Indeed it looks very nice, they even added valet parking. Our server, Victoria was so informative and patient since I couldn't make up my mind. I ended up ordering the almond-crusted halibut. It was cooked to perfection, flaky and tasteful. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. All of this topped by a creamy sauce to complete the dish. My wife ordered the prime rib which she enjoyed very much. The meat was tender, juicy and no gristle found. At the end of the meal, we had no room for dessert since we also had the clam chowder soup as an appetizer. Overall this is a great restaurant for a date night or a special occasion. After reading all the reviews we decided to give it a try.So glad we trusted those reviews as the food was so good!! First off, this is a very small restaurant with only about 8 tables inside and a few outside. It's very quaint if on a date, very nice that it is small. The staff is very attentive and was constantly checking on us.We had the crab cakes for an appetizer and they were so good and fresh tasting. They have wonderful rolls, seems like it is the same dough that they use for their pizzas. They were hot, fresh and very light. We both had the chicken parmigiana with red skinned mashed potatoes. They served winter veggies with the meal and everything was so good and flavorful.Again, the staff was very attentive and made sure we had enough rolls and beverages throughout our meal. They don't have my favorite beef kabob anymore, but everything on the menu sounded delicious, it was hard to decide. We started with the potato skins... yummy! My nieces tried the pasta dishes and pita bowl while I tried the pistachio crusted salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans. The sauce for the salmon was so good and creamy, the owner even brought me a little extra on the side which I dipped the pita bread in. This is a nice place for date night. Pulling up, there's a fence ahead so dunno if that's parking or not. The front entrance appears dark as if they're closed. The door is off to the left of the building. A neon "Open" sign would reduce confusion and help with business. The food is amazing. Authentic. Well-seasoned. Not overcooked. The plates were well-portioned with heaping protein of your choice over seasoned rice. It comes with a salad, hummus and tzatziki sauce, and pita.Definitely a great find."
