"The best spicy edamame around! It's one of my favorite places to eat and drink in Modesto. The service is excellent and the ambience is perfect. It's always busy, but I don't mind waiting."
"Came here on a Saturday night and the place was packed about an hour and a half before closing. The calamari and edamame were a great choice for starters. The sushi was also fresh and enjoyable."

"Holy smoley the garlic rice is beyond amazing and so was the teriyaki chicken. My husband's steak was also great!"
"Impressive amount of quality sushi. Very traditional Japanese menu. The temporary appetizer is superb"
"I was craving salmon bento box so I decided on Satomi's salmon teriyaki plate. I wished there was salad and soup that came with it. The veggies were steamed without seasoning. I must compliment the chef. I haven't had salmon with perfect texture in a while."
"Great Japanese spot! My boyfriend picked this place out to try for lunch on Saturday. Food here is so delicious and it reminded me of my fav Japanese spot in the Bay Area. Service here is friendly, attentive and quick. We both ordered the bento box. My boyfriend got the bento for dinner since he wanted two items. He ordered bento with beef teriyaki and tempura prawns & vegetables. I got the bento for lunch. I ordered the salmon teriyaki. Both bentos did not disappoint, they tasted really good. Overall, great food and service. Can't wait to come back again."
"Ordered online and it was ready by the time I got there. Efficiency: Check. They got my order right, I had asked for cucumber substitute as I can't eat avocado. I ordered a tuna and salmon maki. Hamachi maki. Spicy tuna. Rainbow roll. Spicy poke. Ranging Fire. And Cool Runnings. Everything was well made. Nothing fell apart during transport. One of the roll, the slices was a bit inconsistent but not a big deal as you still get the entire roll. I liked that they don't use too much rice. A lot of places just stuff their rolls with rice, that is why they look so big. Could they use a bit more fish? Yes, but guessing the price would then be higher. Taste wise, it wasn't bad. The Spicy rolls were Spicy but not overly powering. Fishes didn't taste "fishy" which is a good thing. No fishy aftertaste. Price wise: Pretty on par with the other sushi places around there. As were the portion sizes.I've ordered here a handful of times over the years and they have been somewhat consistent, for the most part in terms of their food quality. I've only had 1 bad experience there but it was only one of their rolls. The fish was not looking fresh, so I didn't eat it. Ambience: Hard to say. I've always tried to order to go during non busy times. I've never been there when there are a lot of people. So, if you go during non peak hours, it's nice and quiet, minus the tvs that are playing. And I think it is a bit too dark."
"Friday night sushi with the fam. We were seated promptly. Our server was friendly and attentive. I had a cold Sapporo in a frosted glass. For appetizers I tried the mixed tempura. The veggies were crispy and tasty. I tried the Chowchilla roll. It has scallops, tuna, crab and cream cheese; yum! My daughter had the Lemon Tem which she enjoyed. All food tasted great and was served quickly. The restaurant is clean but a bit dated. The location is not ideal (limited parking being next to a gym and other restaurants). However the food is pretty good and fairly priced for sushi. Check it out !"
"YUM!! I was craving ramen and this place satisfied that craving. I ordered the sake bomb along with tonkatsu ramen while my cousin ordered their bulgogi gyu-don. Everything was yummy and all the food arrived quickly too! Very casual dining along with quick service."
"I've only been once but it was a pleasure. Not too busy attentive staff.i wish I could remember now what I ordered...we had a few rolls but one with smoked salmon was frigging AMAZING!! I hope they keep that because I'd order that over and over again!"

Had lunch here today finally. What a great place. We arrived around noon and were greeted and seated immediately. It wasn't packed but it was lively and filling up for the lunch time rush. We tried the garlic edimame and i highly recommend it. I've never seen this somewhere but they were delicious and lots of them as well. For the main roll i got the spicy dragon and hamachi ngiri. Both were fantastic. Wife got a spicy tuna handroll which was packed full of tuna. She enjoyed her meal as well. I think her roll was named tataki something. The service was also great. I didnt get their name (sorry) but we never needed anything and she checked in on us mulitple times. Price was a little high but i feel it is more than fair for quality of food and service. We'll definitely be back.

You can't go wrong at Osaka Sushi. I have eaten here for lunch about five times and the food is consistently good. I always love the pot of hot tea and the wait staff are friendly and helpful. Standard Japanese bento boxes. I always get the chicken teriyaki and it's good. My wife gets the shrimp tempura bento box. She loves it.

What I like about Satomi is the fresh, consistent food. The service is always friendly, too. Sushi is a treat meal so when it's time to treat myself I find a way here. I'm not super adventurous when it comes to fish and I'm glad there are plenty of options to choose from. The location is in a bit of a busy area. But walk inside and you'll be greeted kindly and seated right away. I don't see more than a small handful of other seated people at a time. Lots of to-go orders though. There's a TV playing on the far end of the restaurant and it's a dark colored theme inside. What I think is the sweetest touch though are the family photos taped to the wall just behind the cashier counter. They are posted there with so much pride. It's very heartwarming.

Went again after my grandson's water polo game. He loved it. I had the chicken teriyaki bento box and it was plenty of food. Good stuff. My wife had the tempura shrimp and vegetables. This is her go-to plate here and she really enjoyed it. Grandson had the crunchy California roll. He gave it a two thumbs up!The service is excellent, and the place is clean. You can't go wrong here.

This is my go to sushi place in Tracy. Not the fanciest but is reliable. They are open long hours and always have great fish.

"It's been said again and again. This is a hole in the wall. Nothing fancy. Perhaps a tad messy. Definitely somewhat cluttered (stored empty cardboard boxes for larger to-go orders). There was one table outside that was occupied when we walked in. Maybe seven or eight tables inside. I think two were occupied when we walked in. The ordering scheme is simple. Go to the counter, read the menu, place your order, pay and then grab a table. To simplify things, one side of the menu features Chinese dishes while the other side features Japanese. The order taker/cashier/server was very friendly and probably the owner as well. We were on our way to a show, not starving but wanting something quick and warm to eat. We settled on a single order of Chicken Curry with Potato, Carrot and Onion over Steamed Rice. We asked for a cup of Ice Water to drink, and he insisted that he give us two cups of Ice Water. As we were getting ready to sit down, he rushed over and asked us to wait a moment while he wiped the table down for us. When our order was ready, he brought it to us in a styrofoam container along with two food trays, two set-ups and a soup spoon to use as a serving spoon. He also refilled our waters and brought us fortune cookies. For a simple Curry over Rice, this order was surprisingly good. The Potatoes and Carrots were cooked well, firm without being mushy. The Curry had a nice bite to it. Even the rice was of excellent quality. And that's one area where many restaurants make the mistake of trying to save cost by use inferior rice. Not here, it was delicious and the price of $12.79 including sales tax is ridiculously inexpensive. We have one more show at the Gallo Center for the Arts this season and I think we know where we're going to have a virtual feast!"
"This place gets busy. The staff are friendly. The food is okay. We had the dragon roll which was good and the spicy tuna roll this one was plain no toppings. I have never had a spicy tuna roll like that. We also ordered the udon noodles which was so hot you couldn't eat it. We packed it and it was still hot 30 minutes later. Overall it was an okay place."
"Food was meh. See picture of vegetable tempura...is that really a serving? Gyoza was fried weird, but taste was good. 3% charge for credit card. I wouldn't eat here again."
"I've been wanting to check out Zoku for quite some time. We decided it was a FriYay day at work- so let's go out for dinner! We came in right at opening, before the rush that came in near the end of our meal! The menu has a ton of options, and since I practiced restraint, I'll have to go back for a few other items that caught my eye. This time around, we got the assorted sashimi appetizer with tuna, salmon and hamachi. For being quite a newbie to the raw fish world, and very texture picky, I enjoyed the freshness of each type and would order it again. We also ordered the grilled edamame- which that addition of the char flavor made this something I would choose to order each time. The agedashi tofu was also quite tasty, but due to the textural aspect, I would have preferred a firm tofu. This is traditionally made with soft to medium-firm, so just something to keep in mind texturally! (I'd order it again though... I'd just have to prepare myself that it more melts in your mouth.)Lastly, there were 3 rolls I was bouncing between and settled on the Chili Spider Salmon roll with soft shell crab. I liked it, but I don't know that it would be the particular dish that would bring me in time and time again. I'm looking forward to trying some of the other options that caught my eye.Service was great- prompt, friendly and efficient. I like how they have the sushi bar seating and it was clean and uncluttered, unlike so many other places in the area appear to be. It was an inviting space."
"Buffet Man Sez: I debated doing a review because I want to keep this place a secret. Old school Japanese restaurant like those I grew up with in Hawaii. Like a memory frozen in time. The sukiyaki is the best in the valley! Sesame chicken is super crispy and light! Vegetable tempura sushi is brok da mout brah!!! Fave pick for me!!!"
"Been here a few times and it's pretty consistent. I always get a teriyaki chicken bowl and it always tastes good. I like that the chicken is not overly salty, it's not dry, and that they don't put sauce on it so you can make it how you like. They have a station to fill up lil containers of sauces.I like to call ahead so my order is ready when I get there. They are pretty fast."
"Daughter wanted sushi for her birthday dinner so I brought her here. We were in the Modesto area and this seemed to have the best reviews. It was a nice comfortable place and all the workers seemed nice. I will say when we first got there it took awhile for someone to come take our order. Not sure if they were just understaffed or what. But once we were able to order the food didn't take too long to come out. I will say that all the food and sushi we had were very good and satisfying! The waitress even brought my daughter a nice dessert for her birthday! If I ever want good sushi that is a decent price I know where to go now! I would also like to go back to try their Hibachi menu."
"Got the beef Japanese curry over rice and salmon roll.Mild/medium spice, seasoned well and has large portions. The poured it all over the rice so next time I'm going to ask to have the rice on the side so it doesn't get mushy from sitting in the sauce"
"I've been here twice now and both times were fantastic! The first time was for dinner and my friend and I ordered a bunch of sushi and the crab Rangoon. The presentation for the sushi was crazy! So not expected. Our server was Jessica and she was on point! The next time was for lunchtime. My husband and I ordered the hibachi and a couple rolls. We had Josh for our server and he was excellent. We never had to ask for refills on our beverages. He kept them coming. The food was great both times and I love the atmosphere. It will be great when they get their liquor license for those who love to partake in alcohol. We will be back for sure."
"I have been wanting to try this location for a while now and I excited to get a chance. I ordered sweet and sour pork and rice with an egg roll and the yakitori chicken skewers. I was so excited to try it that I ate the egg roll in my car in the parking lot. It was really good! It was very big and had great flavor. There was also sauce to dip it in. It it was honestly so good I didn't even try the sauce. With an amuse bouche like that I closed up the bag and drove home excitedly anticipating how delicious the rest of the food was going to be. When I arrived home, I was very disappointed. The pork was literally what you get in the freezer aisle at the grocery store and the rice was excessively moist. The whole meal was bland and pretty gross to be honest. The takiyaki was so dry and even the mushroom were shriveled and dehydrated. Although I would not come here again for a meal, I would definitely consider stopping in for another egg roll or two if I wanted a nice snack so if you are thinking of stopping here, do yourself a favor and add an egg roll to your order."
"I haven't had Luu's Chciken Bowl since I was a kid, we grew up eating it from their restaurant in the Eastside of Stockton. Recently at work we were talking about getting lunch and someone brought up Luu's, saying they haven't had it in forever either. So we went to the one on Pacific Ave, went through the drive through. Service was quick, prices are actually still pretty reasonable given how long they've been around and everywhere else keeps raising prices. I got the #1 which is the regular chicken bowl, I think it was around $8.95. Comes with the chciken, veggies and rice. We even got some chicken egg rolls. The bowl was good, still worth trying. The egg rolls were ok, I didn't care too much for them but OK. Definitely recommend for a quick lunch for a great price."
"I loved my ramen. This place was pleasantly surprising. I had no issues with my order and the staff was very kind!"
"Their food is amazing! If you don't feel like waiting you can call ahead and place your order. We always get the wontons, and some egg rolls. Their teriyaki food is healthy, fast, and fresh. They have a few different options, if you want vegetables you have to order a certain type combination otherwise you just end up with the meat and the noodles etc.I love the yakitori here. The sauce is amazing and the chicken is cooked perfectly. Our family doesn't branch off from chicken or beef, so I'm not sure of what else they might have available. But this is a great go-to if you're in the mood for some good Japanese teriyaki."
"Portion size is never a concern when it comes to the chicken teriyaki bowl at Teriyaki King. This fast food restaurant is more than generous with their servings, ensuring that you leave feeling satisfied. The balance of protein, vegetables, and rice in each bowl is thoughtfully crafted, providing a fulfilling and hearty meal that will leave you feeling content. The customer service is always amazing and always a pit stop for me when I'm visiting in the Central Valley!"
"I started vacation early As I picked up my online order, I sat and ordered a drink The young man who made this astonishing oyster shot for me, was one of the cooks. Cross strained. He got up from his meal to prepare my oyster shooter. I actually begged him to finish his meal first but exactly as I would have done, he left his meal to wait on me. I appreciated beyond words it as someone with over 20 years in the industry. Cheers to vacation Light the fires and kick the tires I'm comin' home I haven't been into this location in months. But consider myself a regular as I use to go once a week. I love the staff and the owner is a friend. The place has improved since I last visited and that says so much, this is a beautiful establishment. Bravo"
"Yes! This was one of the tastiest bento meals I've had! I loved the Saba Shioyaki. It had tons of flavor and was perfect with the white rice. Also, the tempura shrimp and vegetables were great. Everything was really quite perfect, including the Thai Iced Tea and miso soup. The service was also quite good. The server was attentive and friendly and there was a good vibe from the staff. Glad I tried this restaurant!"
