"Love love love this. I treated myself to a birthday experience and it was better than I hoped. The experience to grooming the horse and the knowledge I learned was amazing. I don't think I will be an award winning equestrian but I will definitely like to continue with lessons"
"Five stars really isn't even enough for how great this place is. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this gem through my mom's group, they hosted a pony play date. The kids all got to pet and love on the ponies, "help" clean the pony stall (pretty sure this was my 2 year old's favorite part), and then ride the ponies around the paddock. We loved it so much we ended up hosting my kids' birthday party here about 2 months later. It was such a hit with everyone that was able to make it. They had a beautiful patio area (with great shade from the heat) set up for us. It made set-up on my part incredibly easy. The kids got to ride Ricky around with Cowboy Justus leading them. He was so great to all the kids, and they had so much fun. Miss D was so helpful (and the absolute sweetest) with everything, and the kids really enjoyed following her around to feed the goats and chickens. The animals all were very kind and gentle with the kids, and seem very well socialized. Clean-up was so easy. 10/10 would go again."
"I had an amazing time. I am an Army Veteran and they would not let me pay. They said Veterans ride for free The volunteers were so awesome, super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. We had a couple of scary incidents on the ride (not anyone's fault) a drone flew over and scared the horse but they remained very safe during. I felt very comfortable. I would highly recommend coming for a ride. The farm also has quite a few other animals that you can enjoy like cows, llamas, goats etc. Thank you Trail Brothers."
"I had a conversation with LL on a Friday PM asking about a pony. She seemed very knowledgeable and accommodating and I told her that I would come by her place on Sunday and that I would be able to bring the horse back that day if it 'seemed' to work out. We left it that I would call and let her know when I was on my way and she would be at the ranch. Well, needless to say, en route, after numerous calls and texts. There was NEVER a response back from LL. I called many other horse pals and the response rate was 100%. "STAY AWAY FROM HER!" I'm glad that we didn't purchase a horse from her. I should have done my homework first and also, taken the time to read some reviews on Yelp. Still have not received a courtesy call back that the pony was sold, sorry about the inconvenience, etc. That's when I remembered that over a year ago, we HAD met her and she wanted to sell this big QH that was NOT finished to my 11 year old daughter. It definitely WAS NOT a fit for my daughter. I could see that, any NON horse person could see it. So, I agree with one of the reviewers. Lynda Lake gives horse people a BAD NAME. Find your horse somewhere else because there are a lot of horse people out there who are HONEST. BTW: Since Yelp insists that you HAVE to rate with stars I'm forced to give her a one star. I would be given her negative stars if that was possible."
"Obtaining a deed for this place was such a great decision for my family. My kids have met a lot of other kids up here and are already making memories. This place is a hidden treasure and I wish we would've known about this place when I was growing up! Great amenities for the entire family! Horseback riding, mini golf, teen/youth center, community lodge ( games almost every night ie. dice, cornhole, shuffleboard, pool) . Rc dirt track, basketball court, trails, huge pool, and many many many memories to be made! Convenient little store within the ranch, has many items that you would probably forget at home. Option for Rv/ trailer camping (if you have one ) or if you don't own one you can utilize 1 of the many cabins this place has to offer. You can leave your trailer on site for 3 months at a time then have to remove it for 5 days. The cabins are convenient as all you need are linens for the beds and the cabins come equipped with heaters for the winter time. If you've been camping before you already know how expensive it can get. For the dues you pay each year, it's super worth obtaining a deed and keeping this place alive for many more years to come. Also- berryessa launch ramp is just minutes away along with a cool spot for food/drinks called Turtle Rock! Only about 20 minutes from downtown Napa for wine tasting."
"Lisa as Riding instructor + Horse TrainerI appreciate Lisa's training style. She is patient and at same time treats her clients as intelligent people. I love her energy, especially when, every lesson after lesson, i see great, measurable improvement in riding and confidence. Although, i have not seen her training young horses (which is her speciality), any minor problems i get with the horse i ride, she was able to fix them very easily (bad behavior while mounting, Mare's attitude when didn't want me to pick her hoofs... ). Not only i recommend her as a coach, but as a horse trainer. 5 Star equestrian barnFacility is very beautiful, with great views. Its clean, nice environment for your horses, as well as nice arenas for you to work."
"Wonderful place for horses and their humans. Staff is kind and caring. Other boarders are friendly and the facilities are great and reasonably priced. I've checked out many places in the area and for the money, you get a lot here."
"Very honest lady , tries her best to fit horse and rider . If you are in the market for a good horse and honest people call Lynda she will find you the right horse . High 5 , thank you your the best ."
"After being a student at three other local horse riding establishments, we were almost ready to call it quits. We experienced lots of flakiness and sub par service. Then, we stumbled upon Bradshaw Equestrian and we are so grateful. My daughter has taken 2 hour riding and husbandry classes here for several months now and she loves it. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, reliable, and they have never talked down to her like the other places. She participates in most everything around the ranch including tending to wounds in the horses, making food and probiotics, cleaning out the stalls, etc. The ranch is situated in an out of the way and low traffic area which is lovely and these elderly horses get to roam free as opposed to being shut away in stalls all day. It's the best and the only equestrian business I recommend in the area."
"AF Training and Sales has been a delight to work with. Angie is very knowledgable. It's apparent that she has a great sense and understanding of horses. Not to mention a high spirited personality that tops other trainers I've worked with! Definitely plan to use her in the future. 10/10"
"I attend their firewalks every chance I get. The ladies that run the place are both amazing ladies. I can't wait for the next time I can firewalk with them."
"Real easy going, casual atmosphere with a training focus on good horsemanship and safety over show. Clean grounds, horses are well fed and trails are just across the road. Plus the main pasture has a pond for the horses to play in! The horses are fed a lot so if you have a hard keeper this is a good place for your horse. There's an obstacle course which includes a bridge, a pedestal, some logs to walk/trot over and of course, the pond. Decent facility for the price!"

This was such a great family experience. My kids and I enjoyed ourselves a lot. She was very accommodating to us at last minute and customized the learning experience for the kids ages. We got to groom the horse and had ride around a couple of times.

We take our daughter who is 3 and it's such an amazing experience! Delma is so patient and sweet with her. We do an hour lesson which includes, getting the pony, brushing, learning terminology, riding skills, balance, coordination... the list goes on. Couldn't say enough good things!

I've already been here twice and I want to keep coming back! I recommend this to all my friends who visit Sacramento. They are in a cute little ranch. When you come in, you can bypass the line to get in and just drive through the cars because they already have the parking included in the ride.We did a 1 hour ride at first and the horses are super fun and nice. The workers are super friendly and they are very knowledgeable. The second time we booked a 2hr session and we learned how to groom and saddle the horse for an hour and then the second hour we rode around the ranch. It is really pretty during sunset.Highly recommend this place! I would definitely come back again. Also, 1hr rides are free for military/veterans. But don't forget to tip!

I find it strange that only a couple weeks ago this business had a very positive review. Horse people talk! But I didn't find anything negative on the Internet or from friends in regards to this business until after the fact. BUYER and SELLER BEWARE. What was promised and what happened were two very different things. I don't want to drag a bunch of details into this. If your buying a horse, HAVE YOUR OWN VET CHECK IT OUT. If your selling your horse, find someone else. In my case nothing promised to me happened. While my horse was their I was told some really nasty things about this business, but It was to late. I now don't get emails answered or phone calls returned. So all the comforting things said are just empty words. I always look for the good in a person. It hurts to have been taken advantage. I'm just glad my mare isn't lame.

They are under new management and the place is getting cleaned up. They have shares for sale in the roa office. Book a tour with the ranch. 1-707-252-0140 Yearly assessment are $2500. It's a slice of heaven, a place away from the hustle and bustle of the work week.

I have been taking Dressage lessons from Lisa for about 4 months now. I have taken weekly lessons from a variety of coaches over the last few years. She's one of my favorite instructors to date. She communicates well, is very organized, reasonable rates and is quite professional. She challenges me to push myself. She's no-nonsense, but kind and approachable. Often, instructors can be bossy or condescending - I've never felt that way with her. I feel my confidence as a rider has grown the most as a rider under her coaching, and that she values the experience I bring from other avenues of my horsemanship. Also, and equally important to me is that from day-one I felt like I was a valuable member of the team and was included in plans for field-trips and competitions. I really appreciate that. I also appreciate that she has a horse that matches my needs - one that's younger, has energy, learns well, is patient and wants to work and grow with me. I look forward to our continued journey together.

My daughter just started lessons here and we are absolutely in love with this place and it's staff. Tammy and her daughter Miranda were both very professional, sweet, and easy to work with our schedule. They even made my very shy daughter feel comfortable and overjoyed with all that she learned on her first lesson. We cannot wait to go back.

Lynda is AWESOME! I work for a road service company, who came across a person that was out of money and needed a horse trailer and truck towed off of I-5. Unfortunately there was a horse in the trailer and my towing company could not assist with the horse in the trailer. I called multiple horse boarding companies off of Yelp with no success until I got to Lynda Lake Boarding. With out a question, Lynda dropped what she was doing, hooked up her trailer and drove about 30 miles to go get this horse, and took it back to her ranch for safe keeping over night. I wouldn't hesitate doing business with Lynda if the need ever comes up. Lynda definitely has a passion for horses, ensuring that they are kept safe and calm. Thank you Lynda!

"Amber Forney is the best! We retired from San Jose last year and decided with all the Equestrian Centers nearby that we could finally learn how to ride a horse. So my husband (age 57) and I (age 58) got started with Amber at Cornerstone Training at Royal Oak Farms in Granite Bay. During our weekly lessons Amber taught us everything about horses; how to groom, how to saddle, how to mount & dismount, how to post a trot, and how to canter. She went at exactly the right pace of learning for us. Amber introduced us to new goals each week, including intro to dressage and trotting over low barriers. Amber is fun, her training horses are sweet, and the equestrian center is well groomed."
"I have boarded my horse here and taken lessons with Julie Harvey, the main trainer, for the past four years, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. The facility is so well kept and they are constantly updating it. The place is truly family owned and operated.. on weekends Grandpa is out fixing up the place! It is a private, and drama free facility, where everyone is kind and purely happy to be enjoying their horse! Julie can customize training packages and lessons to your needs. I have a busy schedule, and she's always willing to work with me to schedule my lessons.. even if they're at 8 PM! Julie has taken my horse and made him a completely different (calm and collected) animal, and myself a completely different rider. The results are proven in any of the results from the shows we attend. The team of girls that are Julie's clients are some of the most positive around! Come ride with us at Meandering Creek and I promise you won't regret it !"
"Brought my kids to this stable for lessons and they had the best time! The instructor was patient, they had a wide variety of horses to choose from and explained the entire process of grooming a horse all the way to riding. We can't waIt to go back! Also, the owners greeted us and are extremely friendly and hands on. We'd definitely be going back!!"
"I was here over the weekend to watch my six year old niece ride in her first horse show. There is a nice large indoor/covered area and a large outdoor arena set up for jumping. The outdoor arena has covered bleachers for the convenience of those watching. We had a little picnic there in the shade while watching a trainer school horses. There are two long lines of stalls on either side of the indoor arena which have at least 20 or 30 stalls. Each of the stalls has an outdoor run so the horses can choose whether to be indoors in the shade or outside in the sun. There are a number of pastures/paddocks filled with green grass and there were many horses wandering about and grazing. We don't board our horses here, so I don't know anything about their prices, but this is a lovely place to attend a horse show"
"Had an amazing experience at the Water Lantern Festival. The vibe was positive. The organizers did a great job putting on this event. Registration was quick and simple. The restrooms were clean. They had a few vendors selling food and jewelry. I had a great time with my famil"
"I purchased the Trail High Line kit and I must say, I use it all the time. It is compact and easy to use. I used it recently and had 4 animals attached to it with no problems. It stays secure leaving me comforted at night knowing that my animals are safe and sound. I highly recommend this kit for any trail rider. Jamie C"
"Several years ago I had a first experience on a horse that would have left anyone shaking in their cowboy boots. We were on a group camping trip when everyone decided to take advantage of the local horseback riding. Not wanting to be left behind, I tagged along, figuring how hard could it be? Little did I know I was in for one of the scariest experiences of my life. Not only did they give me minimal instructions at best, they threw me on an old, grumpy horse that did not appreciate having a novice on his back. Then they decided to go along a narrow trail that wound around the edge of a rocky hill, leaving the poor horse unstable in his footing and me grinding my heels in terror. Needless to say, I think the horse and I both kissed the ground when it was over.In an effort to face my fears, I decided to find someone willing to give me a new introduction to horses. It wasn't easy. There are a few ranches offering Groupons and Living Social deals, but out of three that I called, Epona was the only one that answered the phone. Maybe it was good karma, because this farm was a perfect fit for what I wanted. I could tell on the phone that Trina was going to be very easy to work with. It sounds like she and her husband own the operation. When we arrived (yes, I dragged the BF along for the ride and moral support), we didn't immediately recognize any designated parking. Anywhere by the front of the office wound up being fine.A young girl that helps out around the ranch showed us over to the horses. She was very friendly, although I think a bit unused to someone as inexperienced and uncomfortable as I was. Trina came out to take a supervisory lead as we were brushing the horses to prepare them for the saddle. She had an expert hand as she strapped on the cinch and saddled the horse up, explaining each step along the way. We were instructed to lead the horses into an arena where we were each guided patiently onto the horse via a step stool. Next came the lesson, which mostly involved first feeling at ease on the horse, then learning how to guide it. We were allowed to trot if we felt comfortable, but there was never any pressure to do anything that made us tense. After a little over an hour, Trina showed us how to get off the horses (take it slow!) and had us guide them back over to the brushing area. She let us loosen the straps, then she took off the saddles, so we could brush the horses down before we left.Phew, were we filthy! That shower felt mighty fine when we got home. Definitely not the place to wear your finery. In fact, be sure to wear long pants and boots if you have them. Sandals and shorts are big no-nos. They have boots and helmets you can borrow if needed. It was not a posh place, but for the very reasonable rates, I didn't expect it to be. There is a restroom available and thankfully, it was not an outhouse. Friendly dogs were roaming about begging for a pat on the head, along with chickens and roosters I was just sure my horse wanted to stomp a few times. Unintimidating and very welcoming, it was the perfect spot to conquer a fear."
"Quiet, beautiful barn with lots of grass pastures for turnouts, covered arena with great footing and terrific care for the horses! The facilities are well maintained and clean. The stalls are large and airy with large paddocks. It's a smaller barn so the arenas are never crowded (and usually not in use at all when I visit on the weekends). The horses are fed hay three times a day. Having turnouts is a priority for me and I don't think you'll find another barn in the area with more grass turnouts. Karen (owner) and Tim (caretaker) are great people and really love all the horses. I've boarded at Diamond K Ranch for over 2 years and my horse could not be happier!"
"They are a great barn community who understand the sport of Endurance. If you are seeking to learn how to compete in endurance in a large barn with a lot of support then this is your place. They also offer summer camps and daily lessons for those just starting out but not ready for trail. Highly recommend."
"What a dreamy experience we had going on the "River Tour" early on a Saturday morning. Two hours of contemplative bliss. We forded the river, which was cooling.I rode a lovely mare named Summer. She and the other horses looked well taken care of, not the bored, apathetic hacks you find at most rental places."
"I cannot say enough about this wonderful place! It is a peaceful, supportive place with down to earth people who provide the best of care! The arena has awesome footing and they drag it almost daily. Horses get turned out at night in the hot summer months and then reversed in the winter. Also, if it's too slippery for turn out I have seen them hand walking horses. They do daily body checks and if something is wrong you will be notified immediately. The horses here are happy and healthy. I disagree with the bad review and believe this is the best place in the area as I had had horrible experiences with other places close by. Go check it out!"
"The family who operates this facilty is great. They have nice stalls and a great arena. Very family friendly with lots of other animals for the kids to play with."
"Alicia is an amazing trainer! If you're serious about improving your riding abilities and willing to put in the work, she has so much to teach. The barn is tucked back in Carmichael right next to ARC. The arena is well kept and the barns are clean. The lesson horses are great and provided tack is in great shape. If you're seriously about improving your riding, I highly recommend Alicia and her assistant Chloe."
"My daughter attended lessons here a year and a half ago, life got in the way so she stopped with lessons remaining, now that she's a little older and interested again I asked if she could resume her lessons we had paid for a year and a half ago, the owner said yes no problem! I sent the owner a text and she responded within ten minutes, which has always been the case when I contacted her before so I'm not sure why people said it was hard to get ahold of someone. They also sell farm fresh eggs from their farm. My daughter really likes her first instructor McKenna but she was 2 so I think she was still a little young at the time."
"Such a great petting zoo service, They set up on time and cleaned up the area after they finished, the animals were friendly and clean, thankfully.we had some children scared to approach the animals but his children helped them feel more comfortable with the animals, the pony rides were the best the kids really loved it. I will definitely use them again and will highly recommend"
"We want to thank Laura for the fun ride and great history lesson on her beautiful ranch. What a great and welcoming greeting we received when we got there and it just got better from there. We enjoyed our horses, the ride was scenic and fun and to get to gallop thru the vineyards was awesome. Thanks again! We will see you again soon!"
"Had my first riding lesson on Wednesday and I am absolutely smitten! My trainer Kristin is kind and great at giving direction and teaching, and the lesson horse I rode - Soldier - is sweet and patient. He's an gentle soul! If he felt me leaning to far off from center or too far forward he'd stop so I wouldn't fall off. This made me feeling more comfortable with learning to post to trot. Looking forward to my next lesson!"
"Yet another one of the amazing charities and non-profit services I've discovered during my time in Sacramento. Project Ride is particularly close to my heart because they, like me, find that a deeper connection and interaction with animals is really the best therapy out there. They've provided therapeutic recreational horseback riding instruction to hundreds of children and adults with special needs over the years. I've met some of their volunteers and they just radiate passion for this cause. Judging from the stream of accolades and praise they've received, it's safe to say that what they're doing works and works fabulously. Their facility is a little out of the way but well-worth the visit for those seeking their services or just curious!"
"Been riding out here since I was 7; so 15 years now. This barn has become family and takes great care of all horses. Lessons, boarding, training, and more at GCEC and they take everyone in as if they were family. GCEC is geared toward more entry level riding up to B Rated shows. The amount of riding one does is up to you (the client) and the level of training you want is up to you as well."
"I was looking for a program for my daughter and literally visited over a dozen facilities and trainers in the area. When I met James and Helen and got a tour of their facility and listened about their program, I knew I hit the jackpot. The students at the barn all seemed to be part of one family, all ages and levels laughing and very enthusiastic. Even the parents hang out and feel to be very involved. Then, I find out the pedigree of James Alliston and Helen Bouscaren...well, no wonder their program has students driving an hour for lessons! My daughter joined their program a year ago and I have to admit, I was right!"
"The entrance is located at the base of the tree that is located at the 4-way stop. There is no shade on this trail so be sure to put on sunscreen & possibly wear a hat.,The trail zig-zags so that there is no steep incline. There are some bushes that veer into the trail but it's not out of control, you can just work your way around it.Beware of dog poop, seems like no one picks up after their dog, EVER. It's a good trail to hike before work just as the sun is rising. It's short enough but still gives you a good cardio workout.I'll be back to finish the hike in it's entirety,"
"Jane the owner is great with kids and has really wonderful horses. I have loved every experience I've had out there! I know many people from many different riding schools and none of them are as well prepared for horse ownership or general riding as the kids that come fro Shady Lawn Ranch! 10/10, would recommend!"
