EllenMarie S. "I was worried when Sportsman Warehouse gun counter staff told me he did not recommend Delta Tactical for my gun training when they asked me where I was taking my classes. He said he was not impressed, but I trusted my Yelpers and thought I would try it to see for myself and rate accordingly. I take gun ownership seriously and want to be an informed and responsible gun owner!Honestly, I do not really like guns-it scares me, and they are not toys to be played with. I wanted to make sure I know it inside and out and will be an expert one day. So I took both the Pistol 1 Women's class and the AR-15 (both happened to be on the same weekend).Pistol 1 Women's class was great, and I felt more comfortable being with just women. Lucy Foster was a wonderful instructor, and it made me feel more comfortable with her. She was great and had an extensive background. I felt better after taking the class, and surprising, since I had never touched a gun before that, I was a great shot-I got the head and bullseye X marks, and one hole I went through even twice! The guy remarked I would not want to break into your house! That made me feel better that I could do it! In the beginning, I flinched at every shot, whether I did it or someone else shot it. I was more comfortable as the shooting progressed. I definitely will take more classes and want open range time to practice, like I said to master it one day. My goal is to be able to CCW one day.AR-15 Intro class-now I thought the Pistol 1 class was great, BUT This class exceeded even those expectations! THIS class was phenomenal-I learned so much, and you have the BEST teaching it! I LOVED Justin Luo and Taylor! They are a great combination of skill, instruction, and patience! This was not an easy class at all-just going through the maneuvers is not for the faint of heart or one with neck, back, and knee injuries like I have! I had to go prone, kneel and sit to shoot-I swear I was doing yoga moves! I was worried I could not get up! I did it, for the most part-not, bad for a grandma of three!? I was probably the oldest one there, and at first, I thought it was only a class full of big and burly men (some who already knew how to shoot multiple kinds of guns, including the AR!), so I was worried. Thankfully, two more women came later-and the men were great and kind as well.So TIP #1- bring earplugs or those gun mufflers (is that what it is called?). I did not like my cheapie earplugs (you can buy all of these at Delta Tactical, too) because I could barely hear the instructors, so had to keep taking it out, The ear muff kinds you can turn on to hear the instructors and turn off when shooting-I think to invest in those to use at the gun range too.Tip #2- Wear knee pads! One guy who knew what he was already doing, wore them, and I told him that was smart! Because the gravel rocks went through my jeans, and my knees were reddened and hurting by the end of the day!Tip#3-do NOT wear tank tops; wear a shirt with a collar the best bc those casings are HOT and canburn you!So I was tired after my pistol 1 class, but not too bad, and it went by fast. The AR-15 was packed with lots of info, and handling the gun a lot which I liked because I knew nothing! This was a longer class, and by the end of this, I was exhausted! This class is a workout! BUT this class is so important bc that gun is still a powerful and lethal weapon, and you better know how to use it properly and with safety in mind. In all the classes, safety was at the forefront. You are being trained by the BEST in the field. The AR-15 class is taught by SWAT team members from the Brentwood police department. It makes me feel better these are the good guys protecting us. I always have respected the policemen and think of them as heroes-I am sure they do much more than we did in class, so my respect has increased a thousand times even more now!Imagine a criminal who won't take classes, most likely, and to do all the things this gun does-it is an even more scary thought that they have guns!!! So to defend your home, you buy a gun, but facing a guy who shoots and not really knowing his gun most likely (and that is why you see they just shoot and often miss if you see the camera surveillance videos), so what do you need to do? So knowing they don't have classes most likely, I think it is better to make yourself take classes and get to the level of expertise because that will give you the advantage to defend yourself bc you know what you are doing then! I want to get a criminal in as few shots as possible-preferably just one to neutralize the threat. I will do anything to defend my home and family and every gun owner should be a responsible gun owner and take it seriously. I recommend Delta Tactical Training to every gun owner. My husband was saying you just shoot (he has never shot a gun)how hard is that and why take these classes?! After those classes, I am glad I took it-be in control of your own destiny."

Corinna T. "We discovered Sac Security Training through Groupon. My sister and I have always wanted to have this kind training in the event of an emergency where our kids may be choking, a family member needs CPR, or to be a good samaratin where we could possibly save a life! Groupon gave this facility's training great reviews especially with the instructor, Sean Campbell. Although, we had a rough start at the beginning of the class, he managed to pull it together providing a lot of knowledge, examples, hands on demos including us performing on the dummy's with some quirky entertainment to make this 3 hour scheduled course go along quickly & smoothly. His sound effects were so funny too. Lol, on point. After this training, I left feeling extremely confident I'd be able to assist if an infant, child, or adult were to choke. In my past experiences, I've seen this more often than not! Knowing how to perform CPR is even better! The training taught was very thorough along with the explanation as to the "why". I hope I never have to use what I've learned tonight, but I'm glad I am prepared to do so. Thank you Sean for making this training so fun & interactive!"

William C. "Became an associate member last mo and came to shoot for the first time today (9/7/23) and had a blast. Your membership card will open the main gate for you, just tap it at the keypad. Once open make a left and you will see the parking area. You need to get into the range office to check in and make sure you bring your ear protection with you since the entrance door is right next to the rifle range and it's loud! Once in, speak to whoever is on duty and let him/her know which range area you will be using and how long. We used the pistol area only this time. You get to pick either 7yd, 15yd or 25yd to shoot at and let them know how many hours you plan to use the range. The staff then will assign the stall. Target is provided or you can use your own (no human shape target is allowed). Each time you want to shoot at a different area make sure you check in again with the range office so they can assign you a new stall and a new target will be provided (turn in your old one). Pro tip, don't go tell them you want to move to a new area (say from 7yd to 25yd) during cease-fire, instead going in when they give you the 2min warning before CF so you can switch out the targets during CF to save you from waiting for another session. Also bring some chamber flags for all your firearms that you will be laying outside on the bench, the range office requires you to put one into your firearms during cease-fire. They will provide you with one when you check in for free and each additional is $2 I think. They also have limited calibers of ammo for sale. You can bring guests and it will be $10 an hour and members pay $5 an hour. The range officers were very nice imo. If it's your first time there, let them know and they will help you with any questions you might have. I strongly suggest you to watch a YouTube video on range etiquette so you know all the basics. Overall a great experience shooting here and I will be coming back often."

Stephen B. "Sure Grip Arms - Basic Pistol Shooting CourseWhether you're a distinguished expert or a first time shooter, it is always good to keep apprised of new procedures and developments regarding firearms and firearm safety. I acquired my first firearm from my father at the age of 5. Living on a cattle ranch in the 1970's we were all taught from a young age. Following through, with military, law enforcement and armed security experience I have taken more than a handful of firearms courses, from basic to advanced levels. Hence I have a body of knowledge to draw from.In my 30 plus years of training and experience, I will say that Sure Grip Arms is one of the most well thought out and concise courses I have taken, including P.O.S.T. and F.L.E.T.C. courses. The instructor brings a myriad of knowledge and experience to the table and imparts the information in such a manner that it will be applicable to real world scenarios and events. The use of props, examples, videos and roll playing keeps the class fun and engaging. All of this is brought to the student with a continuous emphasis on Safety, safety,... and more Safety! On the range, everything is thought out and planned at an expert level of precision, with emphasis on more safety. From the time that one arrives at the firing range to clean up and de-brief the student is made to feel comfortable and well looked after while engaged in the shooting evolutions. Admittedly, I had not fired a pistol in over 10 years and it is a perishable art. I did hit the broad side of the barn, yet my inconsistencies were immediately identified by the instructor and I worked on those corrections. More practice is needed and thus, the reason I took the initiative in participating in the Basic Pistol Shooting Course, to evaluate where I am at, and focus on what needs improvement. In conclusion, I will be attending additional courses with Sure Grip Arms in an effort to improve my marksmanship and personal confidence in safe pistol handling and beyond. While muscle memory served me well, it was obvious that I am out of practice with trigger control and breathing technique. Additionally, the unexpected yet much appreciated study materials and "Thank You" pack are of the highest quality that will last for years to come. You will not receive a pack of simple hands-outs, a pat on the back and a "Good Luck", as the quality of the materials and training shines above most else. You will not be disappointed!"

Saturday started off slow, it took them a while to set up and get going but once they did it was full speed ahead. They communicate OFTEN with you & their team of volunteers, making sure everything/everyone is on the same page making things run smoothly. The instructors are great advocates & VERY knowlegeable, I can't stress enough how you MUST check yourself when you're here (I caught my attitude and let it slip a few times). Luckily they understand the frustration and behaviors we have when participating making it truly sympathetic. They train you on what's expected, what it will look like, how it will actually all go down, and tips/tricks along the way. At no point in time did I ever feel alone, lost, or scared (I went alone, everyone signed up with a relative/friend). They have their own parking area that is marked off by signs. I walked in and was greeted by 2 staff members. They asked me to fill out a form and sign into the log for the lane I was to shoot at. I was shooting in lane 9. It was bigger than the other lanes. It had good room to lay out all my guns. There are only 9 lanes so this is a small facility and I assume it gets really busy at times. I was here on a weekday after lunch so no problem. I saw some 556 rounds on the ground so I guess you can shoot a rifle here but I didn't ask. The range doesn't look long enough for that but I didn't know. I shot all of my guns and had a lot of fun. Easy enough and it was 24 buck as I bought one target. Brendan B. "I took Spartan Defense's "defensive/tactical handgun" class this weekend. It was the first class I've taken with Spartan, and I enjoyed it so much I decided to share my experience here. I found both of the instructors to be very engaging and approachable. They presented the curriculum in a very accessible way, and were also very receptive to feedback and alternative methods presented by the students. The instructors also provided relevant anecdotal examples from their military and law enforcement backgrounds to give additional context to the real world applications of the drills they were putting us through. Class enrollment was capped at 12 students max, ensuring a teacher to student ratio that allowed everyone in the class to receive plenty of direct one on one instruction. We started with relatively simple drills that gradually ramped up in challenge throughout the day, culminating in scenarios where we would move, shoot, reload, and engage multiple targets, all while being timed. The course incorporated the use of a shot timer throughout, which added both a stress element as well as a trackable performance metric. Our times were recorded throughout the day, and then compared at the end of the class against the baseline times we had established during drills at the beginning of class. Pretty much everyone made solid improvement on their times by the end of the day. The only negative point I could make about the class was that the lunch break ran a bit long, so we ran out of time towards the end of the day and had to skip over a couple points the instructors had planned to cover. The instructors said that going forward they'd set a timer to prevent the break from running longer than intended. But we covered so much other worthwhile material that I didn't feel this was worth deducting a star off the review.I absolutely got my money's worth from the class, at a price point at or below most other comparable classes being offered here in the greater Bay Area. I'm already checking their class schedule to see what other upcoming classes I might be interested in."

I have been to a few private classes and courses here when it has been closed to the public, and have had tons more of fun here!! If you ever get a chance to get into a specialty course or competition shooting match, you will come to appreciate this venue on a whole other level. For the average shooter and casual hobbyist out there, this place is definitely good to go! I like to warm up on the 50 yard line with my long gun then go to the 100 yard line for more of a challenge. If your feeling like your Chris Kyle, you can shoot on the 200 yard line if you qualify with the range staff first. The pistol range can get real busy on weekends especially in the late morning heading into noon. Pack a lunch in a cooler and save some time and money. One of the main reasons I chose this class so far away was because they said they offered a "buffet" of firearms to handle and actually live fire on the range. I was not disappointed! I actually came away with a preference for a weapon I would never have believed I would be interested in had I not handled it first hand and had expert guidance. The owners of this company are professional, friendly, dedicated and sincere in their efforts. They told us at the beginning of the class if we were not having fun, they were not having fun. And guess what? It was so true! There were probably 25 women in my class and over half of them were over 50 years old. Many of us had never handled a firearm in our lives. I was afraid of feeling intimidated and uneducated in this class and it was far from that! I was comfortable and felt confident by the time I left. Their staff is fantastic and they encourage you all along the way. I believe being educated in firearms these days is a necessity for survival. Just my personal opinion. And I would recommend the Popkes and their company very highly. I want to thank them and their staff for such an enjoyable and enlightening experience. The value seems to be a god bang for the buck especially if you bring your own firearm, ear protection. Both times my friends had their own firearms, and ear protection so the only out of pocket costs were for bullets, the lane, and the target which all together was about $50 if I'm not mistaken. To be honest, I thought it would be light in attendance on a Sunday because folks go to church or reserve that day of the week as family day -- but nope, this place was busy and filled with all sorts of people. I even saw young children with their parents (maybe in the 8-10 year old range?) -- have to start em' young! Anyway, when you arrive to the facility -- keep driving to the end until you get to a T intersection, hang a left and check in at the first building on your right. Can't really miss it because there are a lot of cars and there's a big giant sign that says "Enter Here" :)When you get to the counter, you'll be asked to sign two waivers. Please read through them before signing. As of July 26, 2020, it's $18 to shoot all day and each person receives a paper target of your choice. If you want additional targets, there's an extra fee. They also have eye and ear protection if you forgot yours at home. Also, I want to note that the staff who work here are fantastic. I called several times before taking the trip out, and every person I spoke to was courteous and uberly professional. The same holds true while interacting with the team in person. After you pay, read, and sign -- you can proceed to the range.
