"ABSOLUTELY LOVE this course, especially the DRIVING RANGE! The range is quiet with TopTracer which allows you to play virtual golf, keep track of your progress, and play miscellaneous games. It's a lot of fun! They have a little bar that's open during peak hours. During non-peak hours they have a food truck that sells snacks, beers, and seltzers. Prices for range balls: $5 for 25 / $14 for 70 / $18 for 100 / $24 for 100 PARKING: private lot with lots of parking. You may have to walk a bit because they're usually busy but you will definitely find a spot."
"I played Boundary yesterday after a 20+ year layoff from this course. I stopped playing here due to the course being overplayed and in rough condition. A buddy said I had to try it again as the conditions were improved. I am going to agree, I thought the course was in reasonable condition for being a city owned course. The holes are challenging, the greens were in good shape, the fairways were good, but the tee boxes on the par 3's were alittle rough. Being in the foothills with every hole having views of the surrounding hills was great. I think this course is a great value."
"Booked an early morning tee time and I had a blast. The course was maintained well, the fairways were on the narrow side but that made it challenging and fun. Not many hazards other than being OB, so it's hard to lose a ball out here. Carts can drive anywhere other than green, the tee box, or designated areas. One thing I didn't appreciate was the Marshall approached our group because the other groups were "catching up" implying that we were playing slow. We finished our round in 4 hours and 4 minutes so I don't know how much faster you want us to play. The groups behind us never waited for us. We were either on or leaving the green and they haven't left the tee box yet. Even on par 3's, they were never waiting for us. So for the Marshall to approach us asking us to play faster I felt was out of line. After the round I wanted to clean off my shoes before going into the pro shop, there wasn't an air compressor or at least a shoe scrubber brush mat. Overall, great course, the pro shop had a big selection. The parking lot isn't in danger of being hit by golf balls, unless you have someone absolutely crush it on the 7th hole. I would love to come play here again."
"This is my husbands favorite course. I don't play so I'm only repeating what he says:"Drains well. Greens are always in great condition. Rates are some of the best around. Play is always on pace."I say give it a try and see for yourself. I can only speak for the restrooms and I say they are nice and clean."
"Beautiful park. Great access to dip your feet into the river at the beach area. I say that I was disappointed with the bathrooms there was no paper towels or soap in the bathroom so make sure you have hand sanitizer. There are grills here if you wanted to do that! You can also reserve a table at this park. There is a nature conservatory with a trail we didn't go because it was too hot by 3 pm but I will be back to go it's beautiful there!"
"We stopped here for breakfast while visiting Copperopolis and were so glad we did! To start, this is just a beautiful facility. The setting is lovely and the restaurant looks out over the golf course. We greeted promptly and shown to a very nice window table. Our server was lovely, very friendly and super efficient. I had literally one of the best breakfasts that I have ever had. Everything was super flavorful and cooked perfectly. Mine was the basic 2 egg breakfast with bacon and the country potatoes while my husband had the ricotta pancakes. Don't sleep on the country potatoes, these were the star of the show. This is a great stop for any meal. You don't need to be a member to eat at the restaurant which is wonderful. Highly recommend!"
"Here's a funny review you can consider:---**Swanson's Golf Course: The Hidden Gem You Didn't Know You Needed**Swanson's Golf Course is like that secret diner with amazing food that nobody talks about--totally underrated! The prices are as affordable as finding a dollar in your couch cushions, and the staff? Let's just say they're friendlier than your grandma's dog. Now, let's talk about the course. They've got it all: a par three for those of us who just want to feel good about our short game, a traditional course for the brave-hearted, and soon a mini-golf to remind us we still don't have the coordination of a 6-year-old. It's perfect for the whole family, whether you're 8 or 80!The driving range, though...I don't know, maybe it's where balls go to retire? And call me paranoid, but when I pay cash for a bucket of balls, I can't help but wonder if they're secretly funding the cashier's next round of drinks. But hey, the putting green and chipping area are top-notch--so fancy they might as well come with a side of caviar. So if you're looking for a fun time without all the fancy and some laid-back vibes of hanging out in your buddy's backyard, Swanson's is your place."
"The coaches for the kids lessons are great. My son loves it. They're very nice and friendly. What's irritating right now is that I'm hearing 3 employees cussing like there's no tomorrow right by the outside patio seating area. Super loud. Every other word is a swear word. I get it, you're on break but you're still on the premises within earshot of your customers. It's not like I don't swear but still. Even people who are putting at the range part are looking back to see where the noise is coming from.3 stars for the coaches and owner though who have been nothing but nice.Edited to add:Jeff reached out to me via email letting me know that he had spoken with the staff mentioned. It sounds like they are separate from the golf course (eatery/cafe staff?). Thank you Jeff for taking care of the situation! Your patrons shouldn't have to hear what I experienced yesterday."

I love Haggin Oaks. They're one of my favorite golf ranges and courses to come out and play. I like coming to their driving range to practice - they usually always have plenty of slots available. I also love their putting area. I also like the fact that they have a rental shop so that you can try different clubs or drivers. Before I got my new set of clubs, I would come to rent out their clubs to try and see which ones I liked. They have newly renovated restrooms too (yay!). They also have a bar and sell snacks and refreshments. I love that they have plenty of shaded seating too; great for breaks in between sessions as well as their regular seating. They have a golf shop that carries quite a bit of golf apparel selections as well as accessories and equipment. There is plenty of parking here; I've never had an issue finding parking of all the times I've been here. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Most of the guests and players here are pretty friendly too and mindful and respectful of your space. I've been here during all times of the day - morning, day and night and all times are great. I enjoy spending time here and would highly recommend this golf course and range.

This review is just based on the driving range and practice area. I have not played the actual course yet, but I will make an update to this review when I do. Price: 4/5The price here is very reasonable for a bucket of balls compared to other courses in the area. A large bucket of 90 balls is $10. A small bucket is $6. You can pay by credit card at the machine or you can purchase a ticket in the pro shop. Range: 2/5The actual range is where my lower rating is coming from. This range is uphill and there is a huge dirt patch right in the main area of the range, making it more difficult to see where your ball lands. There are no flags on the markers and no signs or indicators on how far each marker is. The driving range mats are fairly worn down also. However, there is a shaded area over most of the mats, and the area around is nice. Practice greens/chipping area: 4/5The practice greens are nice and they are located just behind the driving range. They were a little wet and soggy when I went out here, but I'm sure it is not like that all time. Regardless, it was still nice and I enjoyed it. Parking/Area: 5/5There is a lot of parking around the range and the pro shop. It is easy to find. It is nestled along the hills of lime ridge and nice park is right near by if you have kids you want to bring there after playing.

It's been a while but I always loved the driving range and putting area! I like that the range is lit up at night for evening sessions. I haven't been to Legends grill and bar yet, but I've heard it's really great too.

I've been to Teal Bend several times and have enjoyed my rounds there because it is a beautiful course that is about 5 minutes from SMF airport. This last time we went on a Saturday morning in early September on a hot but beautiful day. I had to rent clubs because I didn't want to tow my golf bag around the airports but Teal Bend had some pretty nice clubs for rent. The weekend rate with the club rental was $115, not bad for a nice course. I found the course challenging but enjoyed being in the beautiful surroundings. There are wildlife such as squirrels and deer running about. We were paired with another twosome and really enjoyed their company. Teal Bend is my first choice of courses when coming to Sacramento.

Booked a tee time for me and two buddies as none of us had ever played this course before. I'm a hacker who has never broke 100 and they play in the 80's/90's, so we knew this would be a challenging course.Upon entering, we were impressed by the lobby and how nice everything looked. A friendly lady working the front desk (I'm assuming for the lodging) greeted us and pointed us towards the pro shop. I walked into the pro shop and checked in without any issues. The man was very nice and gave us a couple of keys for our carts and pointed us in the direction of the practice range and also told us where hole #1 was located when it was our turn to tee off.The golf carts were very nice. It had GPS and Bluetooth so you could play music and also know how far from the hole you were when taking your shot. It also had a ball washer (teehee) and a cooler attached to the cart so you could keep beverages cool as you golfed. The course itself was gorgeous. Even though the greens were aerated earlier in the week, the greens were still in good shape and we didn't run into any funky bounces when putting. The course itself is very unforgiving if you deviate from the fairway, so plan on taking a lot of balls with you. The pace of play was pretty solid. We slowed down on the back 9 a bit as we ran into a group that took their sweet time, but we were just BSing and listening to music until they cleared out of the way. It wasn't too bad. Golf wise, it was one of the nicer courses I've played. I would highly recommend checking it out. After our round, we dined at the restaurant and I'd give that a solid 4/5 stars. The staff were all super nice every time we interacted with anyone at the resort. Overall, this place really left a good impression for me. I'd absolutely love to return some day when the greens are back to normal just to enjoy the course in it's full beauty.

Excellent courses, Swenson has two courses. One Executive 9 hole , and a Championship Par 72. Both very well maintained. A full practice facility, Driving range, large putting green, and a large chipping green. A Cafe that is as good as it gets. Serving breakfast, Lunch and after golf round snacks and beverages. A great outdoor Patio with covered cabanas, tables with umbrellas and a view only a golf course can claim. The Patio overlooks the practice putting and chipping green. Also overlooking the #1Tee. If you are in the area don't pass up the opportunity to play or just practice.

"The chef has made some wonderful changes to the menu and the weekly specials have been delicious. Had the fish and chips yesterday, it was on the weekly specials! Please keep on the menu, they were delicious The staff is incredible, especially Roger in the bar! Hope they get busier soon!"
"What a disappointment... Although the pace of our round was decent at just about 4 1/2 hours, the course itself is in horrible shape. Many fairways are unplayable due to poor drainage and ground under repair. It is unfortunate that the reward for hitting your drive to the middle of the fairway is a shoe ruining walk through mud just to retrieve your ball from a small lake. The greens were in okay shape but many tee boxes were pretty tore up. Perhaps this would be a great place to play mid summer, but not right now - the price was way too high for this 'experience'. On a side note: We tried the Bloody Mary's that people have raved about - they were okay but nothing that would get me back to this course in the winter."
"I discovered this driving range with a Groupon some years back. With a bonus 20% off flash sale on Groupon I was able to get 70% off! I bought a $200 for $60 and a $100 for $30. These have lasted me at least 4 or 5 years with a lot of credit left!A simple driving range that works. No fancy automatic tee like Haggin Oaks. You do it yourself. A handful of metal targets and a big net surrounding. I find it a great place to get in some exercise hitting around 100 balls each time. The best way to get exercise is getting it while doing something fun. Come out and give Cherry Island a shot. I can't speak for the golf course but they have Groupon deals for rounds of golf. They also have a cafe which is where Iam cooling off with a soda while I write this."
"Great spot to be with friends. I just ordered a cart and drove around.Held our Annual Timothy Ramirez golf memorial"
"The greens had very few divot marks and was in very good condition. I'd say Hagen Oaks or an equivalent course, at this time of the year would be in much worse condition. The Driving range was behind the Pro shop and had a secluded flat open field to hit balls into. It had a cool farm feel which was very quiet and everyone was allowed to hit off of grass which seems to be luxury these days. This course gets plenty of new golfers and with that expectation, we had an enjoyable time. Looking at all the reviews this place gets unwarranted negativity. The only negative I can think of is the fairways can be cut a quarter inch shorter."
"Used to play here a lot. I normally walk, but when it's 104° I'll ride. They upped their fees lately. $35-40 for nine holes with a cart is crazy for this course. You can play an actual golf course that has beverage carts, has a full driving range and doesn't have morons picnicking in the fairway for that much lol. Dumb business move with how many courses are around honestly.Four stars bc it's usually in decent shape, but it's typically slow and for $70+/18 there are better courses around here to play by a long shot"
"My best friend (wife) and I played Mather Golf Course for the first time in over three years. We met two our friend there and had a great time. The folks in the pro-shop were helpful, courteous and efficient despite being very busy that morning. The golf course itself was in good condition despite the CA drought and wildfire related smoky skies. My girl played from the forward tees and noted several times that she did not get much/if any advantage except for one or two holes on both the front and back nine. From my perspective, the few advantages she received with respect to yardage, more than made up for the fact that most of the other holes were equally spaced out.The pace of play was good. Sand trapes could use new sand or a little more racking. Some very wet spots were noted but hard to avoid in the extremely hot weather and ""green"" fairways""."
"The last time I've been here was probably 20 years ago. The course itself was okay...not the best maintained. We are in the middle of a months long heatwave and yet some parts of the course are flooded and muddy. The bunkers are inconsistent as some are sandy and others are hardpan. There are a few weird gimmicky holes but nothing stands out that are amazing or gorgeous. Pin placement on some of the holes was dumb. No way I had a shot at the hole. Had to putt onto the rough just to putt it back up the green. The 18th however was one of the most fun I've had. This course rewards straight hitters and punishes higher handicap players. Driving through neighborhoods is a little weird, but that's how Castle Oaks is. Snack shack service could have been better. I know she's trying her best probably. I'm not asking to be treated like a king. I just don't like getting treated like an annoyance. This course is closest to my house, so I'll likely come play again, but I'm not sure how often or who's going to come play with me"
"This is a really small course is an even smaller down. The plus side is that its the only full service course in the Sonora area so you don't have to drive to Angels Camp to play a decent game of golf. It is much better than Twain Harte Golf course which has terrible customer service. The staff here are really friendly, mostly knowledgable, and helpful. Overall it's a good little course for a quick game of golf with some challenging holes. It is built in the middle of a subdivision so watch out. We had a soccer mom almost run our cart off the road as she was speeding in her suburban trying to get to the tennis courts."
"I hope the resurgence of golf allows local Golf Courses to stay in business, Rancho Del Rey included. I remember reading a few years back this course was almost sold to a development company. Hopefully that never happens, golf courses are such important part of a community. That being said, Rancho Del Rey is a fun local course, but the greens leave a lot to be desired. Hopefully with more people playing golf, extra revenue can go towards better maintenance. To me, this place has always been a little pricey, but everything is pricey these days. Support your local course!"
