"H&W Drive In is a cool local spot in Merced. This was not a drive thru fast food restaurant. But, more of a drive in (hence the name) or walk up place. Customers can either drive up to order and have the food delivered to their car. Or, can walk up to the window to place orders to eat at the tables outside or take to-go. The staff was nice. Orders came out quickly.We tried a few of their items - Tuna Sub, Bacon Cheeseburger, Patty Melt, Fries, and Onion Rings. Their fries are crinkle cut in case that matters to you. We enjoyed all of the food. They were all well made and tasty. And the portions seemed to be on the larger size. Prices were quite reasonable. We would go back again if ever in the area."

"What a cute little spot nestled in downtown Manteca! We visited on a Sunday afternoon for brunch and were pleasantly surprised with our service. The restaurant has an order and then sit down style which was great because you don't feel rushed when trying to figure out what to order. Once you order, there are workers constantly checking on your filling up your water and asking if you need anything. I am not sure how the tipping works since you pay before, but all of those waiters/waitresses deserved a little tip! We enjoyed our food. The only thing I didn't like too much was my iced coffee. It didn't taste very good, so I would skip the iced latte and try something else. Overall, we loved the vibes and the restaurant and would love to visit again."

"I didn't know Pete's had a change of ownership, BUT I will say that the food, the service is really good in my opinion. Today I went to this restaurant with my family, it was also a good decision because it was filling. The way it looks inside though, it feels like it didn't change. I didn't know what to order first and for me I was torn between the Spicy Chicken Alfredo and the Fettuccine Alfredo. I did end up picking the Spicy Chicken Alfredo. It is a 7.5/10 for me and I have to say that the dish felt underwhelming because I expected a lot of flavor by looking at it. I will say that the chef does know how to cook the chicken because it is juicy and tender. My family has chosen to get the BBQ Chicken Pizza, Garlic Chicken, and the Succulent Ribeye. FIRST OFF, GARLIC CHICKEN PIZZA IS SO DAMN GOOD. 10/10If I were to recommend anything to get to anyone, it would definitely be the Garlic Chicken Pizza. It taste so hearty and flavorful. The BBQ Chicken Pizza is also very good and I love how BBQ has a good layer that doesn't make BBQ to bold to taste. 9/10THE CHEESE PULL. the pizza has the CHEESE PULL!!!!The Succulent Ribeye aka "Steak", I was taken by surprise by how tender and juicy the steak is. I have went to many restaurants that serve steak and it is dry but this steak was tender, juicy, and flavorful. I recommend that people should come by and eat here, the energy is lively, the waitresses are really nice, and they do play sports games and leave it on too."

"HIGHLY RECOMMEND RESERVING THROUGH YELP AHEAD OF TIME. We had made our reservation about 45 min ahead of time and only had about a 5 min wait when we arrived. It's located in the beautiful Lincoln Center so if you do have to wait there's plenty to do nearby. Once seated we were quickly attended to. Not pictures is the delicious Pork Shoulder Torta, we ate it before any picture could be taken. However, everything was delicious. The French toast was extra sweet and the coffee was strong. Definitely will be returning with the rest of our kids as they have plenty of seating indoor and outdoor to accommodate all family sizes."

I got the French dip sandwich with onion rings on the side. The sandwich was flavorful and moist, and the au jus good as well. The onion rings were really tasty, too. As far as the beer, for the life of me, I can't remember what I ordered, lol. But it was a west coast IPA on tap, and was really good. Service was great as well, and there were a bunch of big screen TVs if you want to catch a game. I'd come back again for sure."

We ordered all 3!The garlic beast was the best. It has jalapeños that are flavorful but not spicy, the bacon was crispy and you can taste the garlic in the patty. The steak sandwich was good. Its a little smaller than the burger, but had good flavor as well. Lastly, the bacon cheeseburger; you can't go wrong ordering a burger with bacon! Everything was yummy! The ambiance is like an old school diner with booths and barstools. We'll be back!"

"Happy New Year! We had the pleasure of celebrating New Year's Eve together by dining at Bistro 234. Luckily we had made reservations because they were very busy. The atmosphere was festive with couples and larger groups dressed to celebrate the end of another year.We were seated promptly and proceeded to order pre-dinner cocktails. I then ordered the spinach salad and my husband had the meatballs as our starters. Very good! For dinner I selected the sea bass which was a special and am I glad I did! I absolutely LOVE sea bass and will almost always order it if it is available. This sea bass was served on top of a risotto with asparagus. Divine! My husband had the short ribs which he raved about. Even though we were both pretty full from our meals, we split the tiramisu for dessert which is always a treat!Our server Shawn was a delight. So friendly yet very professional and efficient. We did not have to wait long between courses which was nice. Bistro 234 is one of our favorite places to dine especially when we are celebrating a special occasion or just want a nice date night venue. We can't wait until our next visit!"

"One of the best burgers I've ever had. We had family coming over for a visit and thought let's give this place a try. Our family likes fried zucchini and it's on the menu, so we thought, why not, let's try it. Not sure about the area as I normally don't like the 9th Street area, especially near the bus station but thought well, let's keep an open mind since this place had 4 stars and good reviews. Glad we went. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive and sweet. There was more menu options online but not on the menu at the restaurant. I was going to order the wedge or blue salad but wasn't on the restaurants menu...Oh well. I had the blue burger with no salt fries, crispy, that's exactly what I got, delicious. Hubby had the pastrami burger and salad, WOW, he loved it, the others with us had the Bauer burger and they loved it as well. We loved the fried zucchini so much I ordered another, glad we did. They tried, but it couldn't... We should've sat outside! Ordered meals for 8. 3 more tables arrived AFTER we got there. They all got their food before us. After about 45 minutes, our food trickled out, one plate at a time, over the next 15 minutes. Kids cheese pizza worse than frozen. The salads were served on hot plates with the main courses. (So salads were hot) One of the salads did not have the salad dressing on it.Popcorn chicken was served, tossed in bbq sauce, instead of BBQ on the side (as requested). The chicken parm sandwich wasn't made from chicken breast. It was inedible parts of the chicken breaded.Our server abandoned us after the food was delivered, but I went to the bar and asked for drink refills and another server cheerful helped! There was one good thing: All of the fries were hot and crispy! This place has 'lots of potential' with a few adjustments in the kitchen and the server."

All the sides were freshly fried to order (we had regular krinkle cut fries, curly fries, and jalapeno poppers), and although all were very good next time I would definitely pay the $0.70 to upgrade my combo meal to curly fries. I would give our first visit 4 stars.____On a recent Sunday night when we had out of town guests over, we decided to call in a pizza order for two pizzas around 7 pm. They close at 8 pm. The female who answered the phone said that they were closing up the kitchen soon. We were confused as to whether or not they were still open till 8 pm. So we asked if we should still place an order for pizza to be picked up whenever they were ready. She reluctantly said, "Yes." Geez, if you don't want to make pizza then just tell us and we'll order from somewhere else... and save us the trouble. We ordered two large specialty pizzas (Railroad and California Chicken) with well done crusts. We sent two people to pick up the pizzas and it seemed like the owner and his family were all there hanging out, waiting for the shop to close. The nice guy who seemed like the manager last time wasn't there this time. We probably picked up the pizzas around 7:35 - 7:40 pm. The pizza was totally different from our first visit despite ordering the same pizzas. The pizza crust was disappointingly pale and very soft. It was the last time that I'll ever order pizza here again. I try to support locally owned businesses, but when pizza hut gives you better customer service and better pizza..."
